			'content' => '<p><span style="font-size:13px">November 7: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has changed some of the provisions in the power purchase agreement (PPA). NEA had been giving &lsquo;take or pay&rsquo; facility to hydropower projects despite having provision of take and pay since August-September 2014. But now, NEA has curtailed the privilege it had been providing to the projects.</span></p>

<p>Two years ago, the government had announced an ambitious plan of producing 10,000 megawatts of electricity in the next ten years and had assured to provide take or pay facilities to the projects generating 30 percent of the proposed power on first-come-first-serve basis. The projects had been enjoying take or pay facility under this plan.</p>

<p>But the NEA&rsquo;s decision on Monday, November 6, has stopped providing the take or pay facility, under which the state-owned power utility was obliged to buy the power generated by private companies irrespective of whether NEA needed it or not.</p>

<p>In contrast, the NEA pays to the projects only for the electricity it uses under the take and pay provision.</p>

<p>NEA announced that the take or pay facility had reached its limit as the PPA signed with different projects has already reached 3,500 megawatts.</p>

<p>NEA has so far signed PPA with 222 projects for the generation of electricity. However, the last six projects have been deprived of the take or pay facility as the government has already signed agreements to produce 3,500 megawatts of electricity, for which it had announced the take or pay facility.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Speaking at the launching ceremony, Chaudhary said, &quot;With&nbsp;Wai Wai City, we aim to extend the legacy of Wai Wai noodles to a&nbsp;larger audience with a unique and refreshing experience, and a one of a kind noodle bar concept.&nbsp;For us, this is the beginning of an exciting journey with 14 operational outlets in India and Nepal in these last few months and many more to come in other markets as well.&quot;&nbsp;</p>

<p>The menu offers an array of noodle dishes cooked in interesting styles influenced by oriental flavours, giving noodle lovers a host of new ways to consume this cult snack, reads the statement.</p>

<p>The live kitchen has four types of noodles such as classic, chopsuey, roasted and pan fried, seven sauces, which are, soy garlic, kung pao, masala fusion,hot garlic, pepper soya, spicy teriyaki, schezwan chilli, eighteen vegetables, ten toppings and five add-ons to choose from.</p>

<p>Wai Wai City said it will be spread across the following formats - food courts, self-standing kiosks, standalone outlets, highway formats and an integrated format.</p>

<p>These formats will be developed across malls, information technology (IT) parks, offices, airports, hospitals, colleges, high streets, etc. The company claimed that it will offer noodles in a host of flavours at pocket-friendly prices. The noodle bars are already operational in Delhi NCR with two outlets, Siliguri, Chandigarh,Hyderabad, Velachery, Kolkata, Chennai, Vadodara, Pune, Surat in a stand-alone and kiosk format with an open live kitchenand has now branched out to Lalitpur in Nepal, with Bhuvaneshwar, Agra, Pondicherry, Lucknow, Dehradun, Mumbai in India and is in the pipeline in Itahari, Kathmandu, Bharatpur, Dharan, Pokhara, Birtamod in Nepal, reads the statement.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The total export in the last FY was Rs 73.4 billion while the export in the first two months was worth Rs 13.18 billion. The export in the first two months of the current FY increased to Rs 13.58 billion. &nbsp;</p>

<p>However, the rate of export has declined, according to a report prepared by Nepal Rastra Bank. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance has concluded that it is difficult to increase the rate of export in the current context.</p>

<p>Finance Secretary Shankar Adhikari said that it is almost impossible to increase the rate of export in the present context.</p>

<p>Economists say that the decline in rate of export would have negative impact in the country&rsquo;s economy.</p>

<p>Dr Shankar Prasad Nepal, chief of the economics department of Bhairahawa Multiple Campus under Tribhuvan University opined that Nepal should export goods at a higher price to increase the rate of export.</p>

<p>Data show that Nepal exported goods worth Rs 7.13 billion out of the total export of Rs 13.58 billion to India. But this amount is less by 3.3 percent compared to the export during the review period in the last FY. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Issuing a press statement, the company said that conVRse is a first-of-its-kind experiential Virtual Reality (VR) customer service platform designed to revolutionize interaction between insurers and customers. According to the company, this solution was developed by LumenLab, MetLife&rsquo;s innovation center in Asia,and PNB MetLife, its joint venture in India.</p>

<p>This is the second consecutive year that MetLife Asia is being recognized for innovation, consolidating its position as a leader in innovation, reads the statement. Last year, the company won this category with its insurance product &ldquo;Beautiful&rdquo;.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We are delighted to be recognized as a leader for innovation in our industry and want to thank the panel of judges and AIIA team for encouraging innovation in insurance which is critical if we are to evolve into a truly customer-centric industry,&rdquo; the statement quoted Zia Zaman, LumenLab CEO and Chief Innovation Officer of MetLife Asia, as saying. &ldquo;What I like best about virtual reality is that it allows the customer to be the protagonist in their own financial journey. Our solution conVRse is a huge first step that our customers love.&rdquo;</p>

<p>The company said that this is the first time that virtual reality is being used in the insurance industry to benefit the customers directly.</p>

<p>The platform provides a differentiated, immersive and a personalized experience to the customer through VR headsets available at select PNB MetLife branches.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the company, the VR headset brings customers face to face with an avatar &ldquo;Khushi&rdquo;.&nbsp; Khushi is a life insurance expert who can show customers all their policy related information while answering their queries.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;The initial response from PNB MetLife customers has been exceptional; 96% say it has had a positive impact on their brand experience,&rdquo; the statement reads.&nbsp;</p>

Similarly, the summit also showcased the best Nepali and international practices on microenterprise development in the context of socio-economic development of Nepal.</p>

<p>Speaking at the function, Prof Kee-Seon Yoo, dean of School of Management and Economics and director of Joint International Education Program, Handong Global University, said that management knowledge and skills are important for managing social development of the country.</p>

<p>Pushkar Bajracharya, professor emeritus at the Faculty of Management of TU, highlighted importance of business management education in every sector.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Likewise, Dr Arhan Sthapit of the Faculty of Management at TU stated that local products from micro enterprises can uplift the economic development by using local knowledge and skills.</p>

<p>Discussions were held on different thematic areas of micro enterprise such as the roles of micro enterprises in Nepal&rsquo;s development efforts. Social innovation for sustainable development in Nepal, role of NGOs and INGOs and role of MBA programmes in Nepal&rsquo;s development efforts were also discussed at the summit.</p>

NEA had been giving &lsquo;take or pay&rsquo; facility to hydropower projects despite having provision of take and pay since August-September 2014. But now, NEA has curtailed the privilege it had been providing to the projects.</span></p>

<p>Two years ago, the government had announced an ambitious plan of producing 10,000 megawatts of electricity in the next ten years and had assured to provide take or pay facilities to the projects generating 30 percent of the proposed power on first-come-first-serve basis. The projects had been enjoying take or pay facility under this plan.</p>

<p>But the NEA&rsquo;s decision on Monday, November 6, has stopped providing the take or pay facility, under which the state-owned power utility was obliged to buy the power generated by private companies irrespective of whether NEA needed it or not.</p>

<p>In contrast, the NEA pays to the projects only for the electricity it uses under the take and pay provision.</p>

<p>NEA announced that the take or pay facility had reached its limit as the PPA signed with different projects has already reached 3,500 megawatts.</p>

<p>NEA has so far signed PPA with 222 projects for the generation of electricity. However, the last six projects have been deprived of the take or pay facility as the government has already signed agreements to produce 3,500 megawatts of electricity, for which it had announced the take or pay facility.&nbsp;</p>

Although the total export during the review period grew by 7.7 in FY 2016/17, the total export increased by only 3 percent in the current FY.</span></p>

<p>The total export in the last FY was Rs 73.4 billion while the export in the first two months was worth Rs 13.18 billion. The export in the first two months of the current FY increased to Rs 13.58 billion. &nbsp;</p>

<p>However, the rate of export has declined, according to a report prepared by Nepal Rastra Bank. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance has concluded that it is difficult to increase the rate of export in the current context.</p>

<p>Finance Secretary Shankar Adhikari said that it is almost impossible to increase the rate of export in the present context.</p>

<p>Economists say that the decline in rate of export would have negative impact in the country&rsquo;s economy.</p>

<p>Dr Shankar Prasad Nepal, chief of the economics department of Bhairahawa Multiple Campus under Tribhuvan University opined that Nepal should export goods at a higher price to increase the rate of export.</p>

<p>Data show that Nepal exported goods worth Rs 7.13 billion out of the total export of Rs 13.58 billion to India. But this amount is less by 3.3 percent compared to the export during the review period in the last FY. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Pushkar Bajracharya, professor emeritus at the Faculty of Management of TU, highlighted importance of business management education in every sector.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Likewise, Dr Arhan Sthapit of the Faculty of Management at TU stated that local products from micro enterprises can uplift the economic development by using local knowledge and skills.</p>

<p>Discussions were held on different thematic areas of micro enterprise such as the roles of micro enterprises in Nepal&rsquo;s development efforts. Social innovation for sustainable development in Nepal, role of NGOs and INGOs and role of MBA programmes in Nepal&rsquo;s development efforts were also discussed at the summit.</p>

NEA had been giving &lsquo;take or pay&rsquo; facility to hydropower projects despite having provision of take and pay since August-September 2014. But now, NEA has curtailed the privilege it had been providing to the projects.</span></p>

<p>Two years ago, the government had announced an ambitious plan of producing 10,000 megawatts of electricity in the next ten years and had assured to provide take or pay facilities to the projects generating 30 percent of the proposed power on first-come-first-serve basis. The projects had been enjoying take or pay facility under this plan.</p>

<p>But the NEA&rsquo;s decision on Monday, November 6, has stopped providing the take or pay facility, under which the state-owned power utility was obliged to buy the power generated by private companies irrespective of whether NEA needed it or not.</p>

<p>In contrast, the NEA pays to the projects only for the electricity it uses under the take and pay provision.</p>

<p>NEA announced that the take or pay facility had reached its limit as the PPA signed with different projects has already reached 3,500 megawatts.</p>

<p>NEA has so far signed PPA with 222 projects for the generation of electricity. However, the last six projects have been deprived of the take or pay facility as the government has already signed agreements to produce 3,500 megawatts of electricity, for which it had announced the take or pay facility.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The bank informed that Rohit Kumar Shah, mayor of Gauradaha Municipality, inaugurated the Gauradaha branch while the Tarahara branch was inaugurated by Dwarik Lal Chaudhari, mayor of Itahari Sub Metropolitan City.</p>

<p>NIC ASIA Bank said it is one of the largest private sector commercial banks in the country in terms of capital base, balance-sheet size, customer base, number of branch and ATM network.</p>

The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Kirin 659 chipset, 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM, which helps multi-task several applications at once.</p>

<p>The smartphone has a 3,340 mAh long-lasting battery, and runs with Android-7 based EMUI interface. According to the statement, the Huawei nova 2i has &lsquo;Huawei Histen audio system&rsquo; to deliver extraordinary sound experiences for immersive video and gaming experiences.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The smartphone will be available in graphite black and prestige gold colors. The nova 2i will hit the market in November. The company is yet to announce the price of the new smartphone.</p>

<p>However, the rate of export has declined, according to a report prepared by Nepal Rastra Bank. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance has concluded that it is difficult to increase the rate of export in the current context.</p>

<p>Finance Secretary Shankar Adhikari said that it is almost impossible to increase the rate of export in the present context.</p>

<p>Economists say that the decline in rate of export would have negative impact in the country&rsquo;s economy.</p>

<p>Dr Shankar Prasad Nepal, chief of the economics department of Bhairahawa Multiple Campus under Tribhuvan University opined that Nepal should export goods at a higher price to increase the rate of export.</p>

<p>Data show that Nepal exported goods worth Rs 7.13 billion out of the total export of Rs 13.58 billion to India. But this amount is less by 3.3 percent compared to the export during the review period in the last FY. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Likewise, Dr Arhan Sthapit of the Faculty of Management at TU stated that local products from micro enterprises can uplift the economic development by using local knowledge and skills.</p>

<p>Discussions were held on different thematic areas of micro enterprise such as the roles of micro enterprises in Nepal&rsquo;s development efforts. Social innovation for sustainable development in Nepal, role of NGOs and INGOs and role of MBA programmes in Nepal&rsquo;s development efforts were also discussed at the summit.</p>

NEA had been giving &lsquo;take or pay&rsquo; facility to hydropower projects despite having provision of take and pay since August-September 2014. But now, NEA has curtailed the privilege it had been providing to the projects.</span></p>

<p>Two years ago, the government had announced an ambitious plan of producing 10,000 megawatts of electricity in the next ten years and had assured to provide take or pay facilities to the projects generating 30 percent of the proposed power on first-come-first-serve basis. The projects had been enjoying take or pay facility under this plan.</p>

<p>But the NEA&rsquo;s decision on Monday, November 6, has stopped providing the take or pay facility, under which the state-owned power utility was obliged to buy the power generated by private companies irrespective of whether NEA needed it or not.</p>

<p>In contrast, the NEA pays to the projects only for the electricity it uses under the take and pay provision.</p>

<p>NEA announced that the take or pay facility had reached its limit as the PPA signed with different projects has already reached 3,500 megawatts.</p>

<p>NEA has so far signed PPA with 222 projects for the generation of electricity. However, the last six projects have been deprived of the take or pay facility as the government has already signed agreements to produce 3,500 megawatts of electricity, for which it had announced the take or pay facility.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Nirvana Chaudhary, managing director of Chaudhary Group, inaugurated the outlet of Wai Wai City on Monday, November 6.</p>

<p>Speaking at the launching ceremony, Chaudhary said, &quot;With&nbsp;Wai Wai City, we aim to extend the legacy of Wai Wai noodles to a&nbsp;larger audience with a unique and refreshing experience, and a one of a kind noodle bar concept.&nbsp;For us, this is the beginning of an exciting journey with 14 operational outlets in India and Nepal in these last few months and many more to come in other markets as well.&quot;&nbsp;</p>

<p>The menu offers an array of noodle dishes cooked in interesting styles influenced by oriental flavours, giving noodle lovers a host of new ways to consume this cult snack, reads the statement.</p>

<p>The live kitchen has four types of noodles such as classic, chopsuey, roasted and pan fried, seven sauces, which are, soy garlic, kung pao, masala fusion,hot garlic, pepper soya, spicy teriyaki, schezwan chilli, eighteen vegetables, ten toppings and five add-ons to choose from.</p>

<p>Wai Wai City said it will be spread across the following formats - food courts, self-standing kiosks, standalone outlets, highway formats and an integrated format.</p>

<p>These formats will be developed across malls, information technology (IT) parks, offices, airports, hospitals, colleges, high streets, etc. The company claimed that it will offer noodles in a host of flavours at pocket-friendly prices. The noodle bars are already operational in Delhi NCR with two outlets, Siliguri, Chandigarh,Hyderabad, Velachery, Kolkata, Chennai, Vadodara, Pune, Surat in a stand-alone and kiosk format with an open live kitchenand has now branched out to Lalitpur in Nepal, with Bhuvaneshwar, Agra, Pondicherry, Lucknow, Dehradun, Mumbai in India and is in the pipeline in Itahari, Kathmandu, Bharatpur, Dharan, Pokhara, Birtamod in Nepal, reads the statement.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The total export in the last FY was Rs 73.4 billion while the export in the first two months was worth Rs 13.18 billion. The export in the first two months of the current FY increased to Rs 13.58 billion. &nbsp;</p>

<p>However, the rate of export has declined, according to a report prepared by Nepal Rastra Bank. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance has concluded that it is difficult to increase the rate of export in the current context.</p>

<p>Finance Secretary Shankar Adhikari said that it is almost impossible to increase the rate of export in the present context.</p>

<p>Economists say that the decline in rate of export would have negative impact in the country&rsquo;s economy.</p>

<p>Dr Shankar Prasad Nepal, chief of the economics department of Bhairahawa Multiple Campus under Tribhuvan University opined that Nepal should export goods at a higher price to increase the rate of export.</p>

<p>Data show that Nepal exported goods worth Rs 7.13 billion out of the total export of Rs 13.58 billion to India. But this amount is less by 3.3 percent compared to the export during the review period in the last FY. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The company said that this is the first time that virtual reality is being used in the insurance industry to benefit the customers directly.</p>

<p>The platform provides a differentiated, immersive and a personalized experience to the customer through VR headsets available at select PNB MetLife branches.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the company, the VR headset brings customers face to face with an avatar &ldquo;Khushi&rdquo;.&nbsp; Khushi is a life insurance expert who can show customers all their policy related information while answering their queries.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Pushkar Bajracharya, professor emeritus at the Faculty of Management of TU, highlighted importance of business management education in every sector.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Likewise, Dr Arhan Sthapit of the Faculty of Management at TU stated that local products from micro enterprises can uplift the economic development by using local knowledge and skills.</p>

<p>Discussions were held on different thematic areas of micro enterprise such as the roles of micro enterprises in Nepal&rsquo;s development efforts. Social innovation for sustainable development in Nepal, role of NGOs and INGOs and role of MBA programmes in Nepal&rsquo;s development efforts were also discussed at the summit.</p>
