The campaign was conducted in collaboration with the Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee (SPCC) and the Himalayan Club, a Lukla-based NGO, reads a press statement issued by the company.</span></p>

<p>In order to maintain the environmental quality of this region, Tara Air with the help of Himalayan Club and SPCC airlifted approximately 11,000 kg of non-biodegradable waste away from the region, operating nine flights from Lukla airport.</p>

<p>The approximate cost of this sponsored service by the airline is worth over Rs 1 million. The waste products were airlifted to Kathmandu and handed over to the Kathmandu Municipality, which will distribute it to the proper recycling centers, according to Tara Air.</p>

<p>&ldquo;In the year 2016 we successfully managed a similar waste management campaign airlifting 12,000 kg of waste from the Solukhumbu region,&rdquo; reads the statement.</p>

<p>The airlines expressed its confidence that this campaign has helped in creating environmental awareness among the youth, the local entrepreneurs, and the tourists who visit this Himalayan region.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We hope that other private enterprises will also extend their hands in supporting such environmental campaigns in the future,&rdquo; the statement said.</p>

<p>Tara Air said that the company along with its sister airlines - Yeti Airlines &ndash; have been providing continuous service in the remote sectors of Nepal since 1998.&nbsp; The airlines claimed that it is currently the only airlines in Nepal to provide services in remote sectors with scheduled flights throughout the year.</p>

<p>The company said that the participants got an opportunity to work with some of the industry experts in the country to reassess their business models, re-align their vision and objectives, plan their finances, get legal consultation, and ultimately, develop internal resources to target a high level of growth.</p>

<p>This programme has been initiated by Nepalese Young Entrepreneurs&rsquo; Forum (NYEF) in partnership with Ronnie K Irani Centre for Creation of Economic Wealth (CCEW) at the University of Oklahoma and is managed and funded by True North Associates, a venture capital/private equity firm based in Nepal.</p>

<p>Sujeev Shakya, chair of the NEF, said there is a new world order emerging with the Quad block and Indo Pacific initiatives being revived by Australia, Japan, India and United States.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Nepal rather than pursuing equidistance policy between China and India, should take advantage of the synergy that China&rsquo;s BRI and India&rsquo;s Act East policy presents,&rdquo; reads a press statement issued by NEF.</p>

<p>Keynote speaker of the program Laurence Brahm, chair of Himalayan Consensus Institute, said that the China intends to share the formula of fusion economics through outbound investments in developing countries facing the same challenges which China had overcome through the past three decades through the BRI initiative.</p>

<p>Brahm pointed out that fixed asset infrastructure like high speed rails, highways, ports and telecommunications as well as air travel systems are important driver of growth through a combination of public and private partnership, which is a critical part of China&rsquo;s success story.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Laurence acknowledged that the BRI is going to be intrusive, but according to him, ecological civilization needs to run in parallel to the intrusion; and it is the path that China has taken in the recent years.&nbsp;<br />
Regarding the speculations on financing of the BRI projects, he noted that China is no longer the factory of the world, it is the investor of the world and will soon be the central bank of the world that creates financial architectures.&nbsp;<br />
The major challenge according to him, that the BRI faces, is the issue of cultural connectivity which calls for more cultural dialogue, not only in China, but in all the countries across Asia and Europe. Silk route was not only about trade of silk and tea but also an exchange of values and culture which needs to come back.</p>

The initiative taken by the company to start tandem and solo flights near the ancient city of Sankhu, currently known as Shankarapur, heralds a new era for adventure sports lovers of the capital, who until now had to travel as far as Pokhara to enjoy paragliding.&nbsp; &nbsp;<br />
&ldquo;Very few people are aware that paragliding is available at the doorstep of Kathmandu,&rdquo; said Rajendra Dahal, patron of the company that has been operating in the rim of the valley since the last four years.&nbsp;<br />
&ldquo;We can tap in the potential of paragliding to promote adventure tourism,&rdquo; added Dahal.<br />
Kusal Thapa, the company&rsquo;s managing director, said that their initiative would benefit the locals of Kathmandu as well as international tourists.<br />
Organising a press conference in the capital on Thursday, November 16, the company informed that the paragliding site is located five kilometers away from Sankhu at Jorsinghpauwa, which is in between the ancient city and Nagarkot, a popular tourist destination. The company informed that they have 12 solo pilots and four tandem pilots and have been operating 15 flights per day. The flights take off from the hilltop and land outside the valley, which is half and hour away from the starting point.&nbsp;<br />
Thapa further said that the operation of the flights outside the valley would not affect any local and international flights.&nbsp;<br />
&ldquo;We have got the license to operate paragliding as our flights does not affect international flights in any way,&rdquo; he said referring to another paragliding company in the Valley in Godavari which courted controversy as it was near the airport, thereby affecting international flights.<br />
Regarding safety issues, Thapa, who is himself a paragliding pilot, said that there are very few incidents in paragliding as long as they follow the rules and remain alert about the weather condition.<br />
&ldquo;Accidents happen mostly when the solo pilots perform stunts. But if you follow the rules, it is perfectly safe,&rdquo; assured Thapa.&nbsp;<br />
According to Thapa, the price for foreign nationals is USD 100 while the locals have to pay Rs 5,500 for tandem flights.<br />
The company provides transportation facility as well as lunch for its customers.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>In order to maintain the environmental quality of this region, Tara Air with the help of Himalayan Club and SPCC airlifted approximately 11,000 kg of non-biodegradable waste away from the region, operating nine flights from Lukla airport.</p>

<p>The approximate cost of this sponsored service by the airline is worth over Rs 1 million. The waste products were airlifted to Kathmandu and handed over to the Kathmandu Municipality, which will distribute it to the proper recycling centers, according to Tara Air.</p>

<p>&ldquo;In the year 2016 we successfully managed a similar waste management campaign airlifting 12,000 kg of waste from the Solukhumbu region,&rdquo; reads the statement.</p>

<p>The airlines expressed its confidence that this campaign has helped in creating environmental awareness among the youth, the local entrepreneurs, and the tourists who visit this Himalayan region.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We hope that other private enterprises will also extend their hands in supporting such environmental campaigns in the future,&rdquo; the statement said.</p>

<p>Tara Air said that the company along with its sister airlines - Yeti Airlines &ndash; have been providing continuous service in the remote sectors of Nepal since 1998.&nbsp; The airlines claimed that it is currently the only airlines in Nepal to provide services in remote sectors with scheduled flights throughout the year.</p>

<p>Laurence acknowledged that the BRI is going to be intrusive, but according to him, ecological civilization needs to run in parallel to the intrusion; and it is the path that China has taken in the recent years.&nbsp;<br />
Regarding the speculations on financing of the BRI projects, he noted that China is no longer the factory of the world, it is the investor of the world and will soon be the central bank of the world that creates financial architectures.&nbsp;<br />
The major challenge according to him, that the BRI faces, is the issue of cultural connectivity which calls for more cultural dialogue, not only in China, but in all the countries across Asia and Europe. Silk route was not only about trade of silk and tea but also an exchange of values and culture which needs to come back.</p>

&ldquo;We can tap in the potential of paragliding to promote adventure tourism,&rdquo; added Dahal.<br />
Kusal Thapa, the company&rsquo;s managing director, said that their initiative would benefit the locals of Kathmandu as well as international tourists.<br />
Organising a press conference in the capital on Thursday, November 16, the company informed that the paragliding site is located five kilometers away from Sankhu at Jorsinghpauwa, which is in between the ancient city and Nagarkot, a popular tourist destination. The company informed that they have 12 solo pilots and four tandem pilots and have been operating 15 flights per day. The flights take off from the hilltop and land outside the valley, which is half and hour away from the starting point.&nbsp;<br />
Thapa further said that the operation of the flights outside the valley would not affect any local and international flights.&nbsp;<br />
&ldquo;We have got the license to operate paragliding as our flights does not affect international flights in any way,&rdquo; he said referring to another paragliding company in the Valley in Godavari which courted controversy as it was near the airport, thereby affecting international flights.<br />
Regarding safety issues, Thapa, who is himself a paragliding pilot, said that there are very few incidents in paragliding as long as they follow the rules and remain alert about the weather condition.<br />
&ldquo;Accidents happen mostly when the solo pilots perform stunts. But if you follow the rules, it is perfectly safe,&rdquo; assured Thapa.&nbsp;<br />
According to Thapa, the price for foreign nationals is USD 100 while the locals have to pay Rs 5,500 for tandem flights.<br />
The company provides transportation facility as well as lunch for its customers.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

The campaign was conducted in collaboration with the Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee (SPCC) and the Himalayan Club, a Lukla-based NGO, reads a press statement issued by the company.</span></p>

<p>In order to maintain the environmental quality of this region, Tara Air with the help of Himalayan Club and SPCC airlifted approximately 11,000 kg of non-biodegradable waste away from the region, operating nine flights from Lukla airport.</p>

<p>The approximate cost of this sponsored service by the airline is worth over Rs 1 million. The waste products were airlifted to Kathmandu and handed over to the Kathmandu Municipality, which will distribute it to the proper recycling centers, according to Tara Air.</p>

<p>&ldquo;In the year 2016 we successfully managed a similar waste management campaign airlifting 12,000 kg of waste from the Solukhumbu region,&rdquo; reads the statement.</p>

<p>The airlines expressed its confidence that this campaign has helped in creating environmental awareness among the youth, the local entrepreneurs, and the tourists who visit this Himalayan region.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We hope that other private enterprises will also extend their hands in supporting such environmental campaigns in the future,&rdquo; the statement said.</p>

<p>Tara Air said that the company along with its sister airlines - Yeti Airlines &ndash; have been providing continuous service in the remote sectors of Nepal since 1998.&nbsp; The airlines claimed that it is currently the only airlines in Nepal to provide services in remote sectors with scheduled flights throughout the year.</p>

<p>This programme has been initiated by Nepalese Young Entrepreneurs&rsquo; Forum (NYEF) in partnership with Ronnie K Irani Centre for Creation of Economic Wealth (CCEW) at the University of Oklahoma and is managed and funded by True North Associates, a venture capital/private equity firm based in Nepal.</p>

<p>Sujeev Shakya, chair of the NEF, said there is a new world order emerging with the Quad block and Indo Pacific initiatives being revived by Australia, Japan, India and United States.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Nepal rather than pursuing equidistance policy between China and India, should take advantage of the synergy that China&rsquo;s BRI and India&rsquo;s Act East policy presents,&rdquo; reads a press statement issued by NEF.</p>

<p>Keynote speaker of the program Laurence Brahm, chair of Himalayan Consensus Institute, said that the China intends to share the formula of fusion economics through outbound investments in developing countries facing the same challenges which China had overcome through the past three decades through the BRI initiative.</p>

<p>Brahm pointed out that fixed asset infrastructure like high speed rails, highways, ports and telecommunications as well as air travel systems are important driver of growth through a combination of public and private partnership, which is a critical part of China&rsquo;s success story.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Laurence acknowledged that the BRI is going to be intrusive, but according to him, ecological civilization needs to run in parallel to the intrusion; and it is the path that China has taken in the recent years.&nbsp;<br />
Regarding the speculations on financing of the BRI projects, he noted that China is no longer the factory of the world, it is the investor of the world and will soon be the central bank of the world that creates financial architectures.&nbsp;<br />
The major challenge according to him, that the BRI faces, is the issue of cultural connectivity which calls for more cultural dialogue, not only in China, but in all the countries across Asia and Europe. Silk route was not only about trade of silk and tea but also an exchange of values and culture which needs to come back.</p>

The initiative taken by the company to start tandem and solo flights near the ancient city of Sankhu, currently known as Shankarapur, heralds a new era for adventure sports lovers of the capital, who until now had to travel as far as Pokhara to enjoy paragliding.&nbsp; &nbsp;<br />
&ldquo;Very few people are aware that paragliding is available at the doorstep of Kathmandu,&rdquo; said Rajendra Dahal, patron of the company that has been operating in the rim of the valley since the last four years.&nbsp;<br />
&ldquo;We can tap in the potential of paragliding to promote adventure tourism,&rdquo; added Dahal.<br />
Kusal Thapa, the company&rsquo;s managing director, said that their initiative would benefit the locals of Kathmandu as well as international tourists.<br />
Organising a press conference in the capital on Thursday, November 16, the company informed that the paragliding site is located five kilometers away from Sankhu at Jorsinghpauwa, which is in between the ancient city and Nagarkot, a popular tourist destination. The company informed that they have 12 solo pilots and four tandem pilots and have been operating 15 flights per day. The flights take off from the hilltop and land outside the valley, which is half and hour away from the starting point.&nbsp;<br />
Thapa further said that the operation of the flights outside the valley would not affect any local and international flights.&nbsp;<br />
&ldquo;We have got the license to operate paragliding as our flights does not affect international flights in any way,&rdquo; he said referring to another paragliding company in the Valley in Godavari which courted controversy as it was near the airport, thereby affecting international flights.<br />
Regarding safety issues, Thapa, who is himself a paragliding pilot, said that there are very few incidents in paragliding as long as they follow the rules and remain alert about the weather condition.<br />
&ldquo;Accidents happen mostly when the solo pilots perform stunts. But if you follow the rules, it is perfectly safe,&rdquo; assured Thapa.&nbsp;<br />
According to Thapa, the price for foreign nationals is USD 100 while the locals have to pay Rs 5,500 for tandem flights.<br />
The company provides transportation facility as well as lunch for its customers.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>In order to maintain the environmental quality of this region, Tara Air with the help of Himalayan Club and SPCC airlifted approximately 11,000 kg of non-biodegradable waste away from the region, operating nine flights from Lukla airport.</p>

<p>The approximate cost of this sponsored service by the airline is worth over Rs 1 million. The waste products were airlifted to Kathmandu and handed over to the Kathmandu Municipality, which will distribute it to the proper recycling centers, according to Tara Air.</p>

<p>&ldquo;In the year 2016 we successfully managed a similar waste management campaign airlifting 12,000 kg of waste from the Solukhumbu region,&rdquo; reads the statement.</p>

<p>The airlines expressed its confidence that this campaign has helped in creating environmental awareness among the youth, the local entrepreneurs, and the tourists who visit this Himalayan region.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We hope that other private enterprises will also extend their hands in supporting such environmental campaigns in the future,&rdquo; the statement said.</p>

<p>Tara Air said that the company along with its sister airlines - Yeti Airlines &ndash; have been providing continuous service in the remote sectors of Nepal since 1998.&nbsp; The airlines claimed that it is currently the only airlines in Nepal to provide services in remote sectors with scheduled flights throughout the year.</p>

<p>Laurence acknowledged that the BRI is going to be intrusive, but according to him, ecological civilization needs to run in parallel to the intrusion; and it is the path that China has taken in the recent years.&nbsp;<br />
Regarding the speculations on financing of the BRI projects, he noted that China is no longer the factory of the world, it is the investor of the world and will soon be the central bank of the world that creates financial architectures.&nbsp;<br />
The major challenge according to him, that the BRI faces, is the issue of cultural connectivity which calls for more cultural dialogue, not only in China, but in all the countries across Asia and Europe. Silk route was not only about trade of silk and tea but also an exchange of values and culture which needs to come back.</p>

&ldquo;We can tap in the potential of paragliding to promote adventure tourism,&rdquo; added Dahal.<br />
Kusal Thapa, the company&rsquo;s managing director, said that their initiative would benefit the locals of Kathmandu as well as international tourists.<br />
Organising a press conference in the capital on Thursday, November 16, the company informed that the paragliding site is located five kilometers away from Sankhu at Jorsinghpauwa, which is in between the ancient city and Nagarkot, a popular tourist destination. The company informed that they have 12 solo pilots and four tandem pilots and have been operating 15 flights per day. The flights take off from the hilltop and land outside the valley, which is half and hour away from the starting point.&nbsp;<br />
Thapa further said that the operation of the flights outside the valley would not affect any local and international flights.&nbsp;<br />
&ldquo;We have got the license to operate paragliding as our flights does not affect international flights in any way,&rdquo; he said referring to another paragliding company in the Valley in Godavari which courted controversy as it was near the airport, thereby affecting international flights.<br />
Regarding safety issues, Thapa, who is himself a paragliding pilot, said that there are very few incidents in paragliding as long as they follow the rules and remain alert about the weather condition.<br />
&ldquo;Accidents happen mostly when the solo pilots perform stunts. But if you follow the rules, it is perfectly safe,&rdquo; assured Thapa.&nbsp;<br />
According to Thapa, the price for foreign nationals is USD 100 while the locals have to pay Rs 5,500 for tandem flights.<br />
The company provides transportation facility as well as lunch for its customers.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
