Nepal Oil Corporation informed that the consumption of petroleum products has increased by 15 percent in the past month than the average consumption in during ordinary situation.</span></p> <p>A source at the state-run oil monopoly said that the average consumption of fuel in a normal day across the country is 1,200 kilolitres but that has increased to 1,400 kilolitres with the election date drawing nearer.</p> <p>The NOC source said that the consumption of fuel is more outside the Kathmandu valley. It has been learnt that the consumption of petro products is high at present in the districts which will see the first phase of elections on November 26. The second phase of elections is scheduled for December 7.</p> <p>As the election candidates have intensified their campaigns, the demand for petroleum products has increased. Basnet, Pun, Lopsang, Ganga Lingden, Shyam Bahadur Gumbe, Ambar Bahadur Rana, Roshan Budhathoki and Ajay Thapa among the suspects of the Gauchan murder case still at large.</p> <p>Gauchan was shot dead at Baneshwar on October 9. According to the report, transportation and drinking water had to bear a loss of Rs 2.93 billion and Rs 880 million, respectively. Floods during this monsoon had caused destruction in 35 districts of the country.</p> <p>Of the total affected districts, 18 Terai districts were badly affected and the remaining ones had sustained less damages. NPC has also suggested the government to provide relief and rehabilitation worth Rs 73.22 billion in the affected districts. It has been learnt that the consumption of petro products is high at present in the districts which will see the first phase of elections on November 26. The second phase of elections is scheduled for December 7.</p> <p>As the election candidates have intensified their campaigns, the demand for petroleum products has increased. Likewise, the floods destroyed agriculture products worth Rs 7.21 billion while there was a loss of Rs 10.67 in livestock and Rs 17.46 in irrigation. According to the report, transportation and drinking water had to bear a loss of Rs 2.93 billion and Rs 880 million, respectively. Floods during this monsoon had caused destruction in 35 districts of the country.</p> <p>Of the total affected districts, 18 Terai districts were badly affected and the remaining ones had sustained less damages. NPC has also suggested the government to provide relief and rehabilitation worth Rs 73.22 billion in the affected districts.
