Nepal Oil Corporation informed that the consumption of petroleum products has increased by 15 percent in the past month than the average consumption in during ordinary situation.</span></p>

<p>A source at the state-run oil monopoly said that the average consumption of fuel in a normal day across the country is 1,200 kilolitres but that has increased to 1,400 kilolitres with the election date drawing nearer.</p>

<p>The NOC source said that the consumption of fuel is more outside the Kathmandu valley. It has been learnt that the consumption of petro products is high at present in the districts which will see the first phase of elections on November 26. The second phase of elections is scheduled for December 7.</p>

<p>As the election candidates have intensified their campaigns, the demand for petroleum products has increased. With the increase in consumption of fuel, NOC informed that it has been difficult to supply the fuel to meet the present demand. &nbsp;</p>

<p>NOC Spokesperson BIrendra Goit said that the demand for petroleum products has increased after Dashain and Tihar against the general trend during previous years when the demand used to be less after the festive seasons.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The demand for petrol and aviation fuel has increased by 10 to 15 percent with the election date drawing closer,&rdquo; said Goit, &ldquo;But the demand for diesel has remained the same.&rdquo;</p>

<p>He clarified that the demand for diesel has remained normal as the development works have come to a halt due to the elections.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to police, eight suspects including the mastermind behind the crime are on the run. The police made the arrested suspects public amid a press meet organized&nbsp;in the capital.</p>

<p>The murder plan was executed after a month-long planning by a group led by Samirman Singh Basnet and Manoj Pun, the police said, adding, &ldquo;Rajiv Syangtan shot Gauchan at the crime scene.&rdquo;</p>

<p>The police have arrested Syangtan of Panchakanya Rural Municipality- 5, Nuwakot, Shivaji Mahato of Kalikamai Rural Municipality, Parsa, Mukesh Kumar Pandey of Bihar, India, Santosh Gurung of Thori Rural Municipality-5, Parsa and Prakash Budhathoki of Nagarjun Municipality- 4, Kathmandu.</p>

<p>The suspects were found with a pistol and two motorcycles. Basnet, Pun, Lopsang, Ganga Lingden, Shyam Bahadur Gumbe, Ambar Bahadur Rana, Roshan Budhathoki and Ajay Thapa among the suspects of the Gauchan murder case still at large.</p>

<p>Gauchan was shot dead at Baneshwar on&nbsp;October 9. The police were under pressure from industrialists and businessmen to arrest the criminals.</p>

The study of NPC on &lsquo;Post Flood Recovery Needs Assessment&rsquo; (PFRNA) has also said that the destruction is equal to almost three percent of the country&rsquo;s gross domestic product (GDP).</span></p>

<p>As per the study, the floods had caused destruction worth Rs 19.51 billion in the residential areas, Rs 620 million in health sector, Rs 1.19 billion in education sector. Likewise, the floods destroyed agriculture products worth Rs 7.21 billion while there was a loss of Rs 10.67 in livestock and Rs 17.46 in irrigation. According to the report, transportation and drinking water had to bear a loss of Rs 2.93 billion and Rs 880 million, respectively. Floods during this monsoon had caused destruction in 35 districts of the country.</p>

<p>Of the total affected districts, 18 Terai districts were badly affected and the remaining ones had sustained less damages.&nbsp; NPC has also suggested the government to provide relief and rehabilitation worth Rs 73.22 billion in the affected districts. According to the report, the flood will have negative impact in the economy of the country.</p>

<p>The flood this year had claimed lives of almost 134 people.&nbsp;</p>

Nepal Oil Corporation informed that the consumption of petroleum products has increased by 15 percent in the past month than the average consumption in during ordinary situation.</span></p>

<p>A source at the state-run oil monopoly said that the average consumption of fuel in a normal day across the country is 1,200 kilolitres but that has increased to 1,400 kilolitres with the election date drawing nearer.</p>

<p>The NOC source said that the consumption of fuel is more outside the Kathmandu valley. It has been learnt that the consumption of petro products is high at present in the districts which will see the first phase of elections on November 26. The second phase of elections is scheduled for December 7.</p>

<p>As the election candidates have intensified their campaigns, the demand for petroleum products has increased. With the increase in consumption of fuel, NOC informed that it has been difficult to supply the fuel to meet the present demand. &nbsp;</p>

<p>NOC Spokesperson BIrendra Goit said that the demand for petroleum products has increased after Dashain and Tihar against the general trend during previous years when the demand used to be less after the festive seasons.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The demand for petrol and aviation fuel has increased by 10 to 15 percent with the election date drawing closer,&rdquo; said Goit, &ldquo;But the demand for diesel has remained the same.&rdquo;</p>

<p>He clarified that the demand for diesel has remained normal as the development works have come to a halt due to the elections.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The murder plan was executed after a month-long planning by a group led by Samirman Singh Basnet and Manoj Pun, the police said, adding, &ldquo;Rajiv Syangtan shot Gauchan at the crime scene.&rdquo;</p>

<p>The police have arrested Syangtan of Panchakanya Rural Municipality- 5, Nuwakot, Shivaji Mahato of Kalikamai Rural Municipality, Parsa, Mukesh Kumar Pandey of Bihar, India, Santosh Gurung of Thori Rural Municipality-5, Parsa and Prakash Budhathoki of Nagarjun Municipality- 4, Kathmandu.</p>

<p>The suspects were found with a pistol and two motorcycles. Basnet, Pun, Lopsang, Ganga Lingden, Shyam Bahadur Gumbe, Ambar Bahadur Rana, Roshan Budhathoki and Ajay Thapa among the suspects of the Gauchan murder case still at large.</p>

<p>Gauchan was shot dead at Baneshwar on&nbsp;October 9. The police were under pressure from industrialists and businessmen to arrest the criminals.</p>

The programme held in collaboration with the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) launched a series of videos on poverty and inequality; energy and industrial sectors; and on the benefits of import to the country. The programme aims to contribute to data literacy and to use the data in policy formulation and implementation.</p>

<p>&ldquo;In every country, the public has the right to seek data. Nepal also should now move forward in this case and work to make its data accessible to the public. The public&rsquo;s demand plays a vital role in bringing revolution in data dissemination and access to data,&rdquo; shared chief guest for the event Suman Raj Aryal, who is the director general of the Central Bureau of Statistics.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The videos were developed with the technical assistance of the Central Bureau of Statistics and are intended to generate more public interest on data and enhance people&rsquo;s understanding of key issues related to Nepal&rsquo;s development,&rdquo; shared Santosh Gartaula, CEO and co-founder of Bikas Udhyami. He added that through its Nepal in Data initiative, BikasUdhyami has been seeking to increase the availability and accessibility of data on Nepal through its portal and it is working to enhance data literacy through its infographics, news and tools.</p>

<p>The quiz session was hosted by Olof Granstrom and Fernanda Drumondfrom. As part of the guest lecture, the audience was quizzed about their knowledge and perceptions on different aspects of Nepal&rsquo;s development using electronic voting devices. The lecture provided the audience with new perspectives and insights based on available data regarding various issues related to Nepal&rsquo;s development.</p>

<p>As per the study, the floods had caused destruction worth Rs 19.51 billion in the residential areas, Rs 620 million in health sector, Rs 1.19 billion in education sector. Likewise, the floods destroyed agriculture products worth Rs 7.21 billion while there was a loss of Rs 10.67 in livestock and Rs 17.46 in irrigation. According to the report, transportation and drinking water had to bear a loss of Rs 2.93 billion and Rs 880 million, respectively. Floods during this monsoon had caused destruction in 35 districts of the country.</p>

<p>Of the total affected districts, 18 Terai districts were badly affected and the remaining ones had sustained less damages.&nbsp; NPC has also suggested the government to provide relief and rehabilitation worth Rs 73.22 billion in the affected districts. According to the report, the flood will have negative impact in the economy of the country.</p>

<p>The flood this year had claimed lives of almost 134 people.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A source at the state-run oil monopoly said that the average consumption of fuel in a normal day across the country is 1,200 kilolitres but that has increased to 1,400 kilolitres with the election date drawing nearer.</p>

<p>The NOC source said that the consumption of fuel is more outside the Kathmandu valley. It has been learnt that the consumption of petro products is high at present in the districts which will see the first phase of elections on November 26. The second phase of elections is scheduled for December 7.</p>

<p>As the election candidates have intensified their campaigns, the demand for petroleum products has increased. With the increase in consumption of fuel, NOC informed that it has been difficult to supply the fuel to meet the present demand. &nbsp;</p>

<p>NOC Spokesperson BIrendra Goit said that the demand for petroleum products has increased after Dashain and Tihar against the general trend during previous years when the demand used to be less after the festive seasons.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The demand for petrol and aviation fuel has increased by 10 to 15 percent with the election date drawing closer,&rdquo; said Goit, &ldquo;But the demand for diesel has remained the same.&rdquo;</p>

<p>He clarified that the demand for diesel has remained normal as the development works have come to a halt due to the elections.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The police have arrested Syangtan of Panchakanya Rural Municipality- 5, Nuwakot, Shivaji Mahato of Kalikamai Rural Municipality, Parsa, Mukesh Kumar Pandey of Bihar, India, Santosh Gurung of Thori Rural Municipality-5, Parsa and Prakash Budhathoki of Nagarjun Municipality- 4, Kathmandu.</p>

<p>The suspects were found with a pistol and two motorcycles. Basnet, Pun, Lopsang, Ganga Lingden, Shyam Bahadur Gumbe, Ambar Bahadur Rana, Roshan Budhathoki and Ajay Thapa among the suspects of the Gauchan murder case still at large.</p>

<p>Gauchan was shot dead at Baneshwar on&nbsp;October 9. The police were under pressure from industrialists and businessmen to arrest the criminals.</p>

Issuing a press statement, Renault said that the 9-day international iconic passion drive supposed to cover a distance of close to 1,400 kms kicked off from Lucknow on November 10 and had travelled through Gorakhpur in India and then entered Nepal to enjoy the country&rsquo;s picturesque landscape and experience its exquisite culture.</span></p>

<p>In Nepal, the G.O.D. has already travelled to Kathmandu and will be travelling through Chitwan, Pokhara and Lumbini, after which the participants will drive back to Lucknow, India.</p>

<p>The company said G.O.D is a special initiative by Renault India to bring together the Duster owners through adventurous drives, traversing some of the most breath-taking landscapes and the toughest of terrains. G.O.D is an excellent platform which welcomes Duster owners to the Renault family, building camaraderie amongst the members. G.O.D has also crossed the 1,00,000 community members&rsquo; milestone and is becoming one of the largest four-wheeler adventure driving communities in India, the statement said.</p>

Likewise, the floods destroyed agriculture products worth Rs 7.21 billion while there was a loss of Rs 10.67 in livestock and Rs 17.46 in irrigation. According to the report, transportation and drinking water had to bear a loss of Rs 2.93 billion and Rs 880 million, respectively. Floods during this monsoon had caused destruction in 35 districts of the country.</p>

<p>Of the total affected districts, 18 Terai districts were badly affected and the remaining ones had sustained less damages.&nbsp; NPC has also suggested the government to provide relief and rehabilitation worth Rs 73.22 billion in the affected districts. According to the report, the flood will have negative impact in the economy of the country.</p>

<p>The flood this year had claimed lives of almost 134 people.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A source at the state-run oil monopoly said that the average consumption of fuel in a normal day across the country is 1,200 kilolitres but that has increased to 1,400 kilolitres with the election date drawing nearer.</p>

<p>The NOC source said that the consumption of fuel is more outside the Kathmandu valley. It has been learnt that the consumption of petro products is high at present in the districts which will see the first phase of elections on November 26. The second phase of elections is scheduled for December 7.</p>

<p>As the election candidates have intensified their campaigns, the demand for petroleum products has increased. With the increase in consumption of fuel, NOC informed that it has been difficult to supply the fuel to meet the present demand. &nbsp;</p>

<p>NOC Spokesperson BIrendra Goit said that the demand for petroleum products has increased after Dashain and Tihar against the general trend during previous years when the demand used to be less after the festive seasons.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The demand for petrol and aviation fuel has increased by 10 to 15 percent with the election date drawing closer,&rdquo; said Goit, &ldquo;But the demand for diesel has remained the same.&rdquo;</p>

<p>He clarified that the demand for diesel has remained normal as the development works have come to a halt due to the elections.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The suspects were found with a pistol and two motorcycles. Basnet, Pun, Lopsang, Ganga Lingden, Shyam Bahadur Gumbe, Ambar Bahadur Rana, Roshan Budhathoki and Ajay Thapa among the suspects of the Gauchan murder case still at large.</p>

<p>Gauchan was shot dead at Baneshwar on&nbsp;October 9. The police were under pressure from industrialists and businessmen to arrest the criminals.</p>

The study of NPC on &lsquo;Post Flood Recovery Needs Assessment&rsquo; (PFRNA) has also said that the destruction is equal to almost three percent of the country&rsquo;s gross domestic product (GDP).</span></p>

<p>As per the study, the floods had caused destruction worth Rs 19.51 billion in the residential areas, Rs 620 million in health sector, Rs 1.19 billion in education sector. Likewise, the floods destroyed agriculture products worth Rs 7.21 billion while there was a loss of Rs 10.67 in livestock and Rs 17.46 in irrigation. According to the report, transportation and drinking water had to bear a loss of Rs 2.93 billion and Rs 880 million, respectively. Floods during this monsoon had caused destruction in 35 districts of the country.</p>

<p>Of the total affected districts, 18 Terai districts were badly affected and the remaining ones had sustained less damages.&nbsp; NPC has also suggested the government to provide relief and rehabilitation worth Rs 73.22 billion in the affected districts. According to the report, the flood will have negative impact in the economy of the country.</p>

<p>The flood this year had claimed lives of almost 134 people.&nbsp;</p>
