<p>The entrepreneurs expressed their problems due to the delay caused by Kolkata Port Trust during an interaction jointly organized by Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BICCI) and Haldia Dock Complex, the company which operates Haldia Seaport, in Birgunj on July 21.</p>

<p>BICCI Chairman Om Prakash Sharma said that they have been unable to utilize Haldia port even thought they are facing trouble due to mismanagement in Kolkata. Haldia port is 120 kilometers away from Kolkata.</p>

<p>Sharma said they have been forced to look for alternatives as the officials of Kolkata Port Trust have turned a deaf ear to their grievances.</p>

<p>Kolkata is the nearest seaport from Nepal. It is 704 km from Birgunj. However, immediate past chairman of BICCI Pradeep Kumar Kedia said that Haldia would be a suitable alternative to Kolkata even though it is a little far away.</p>

<p>According to Kedia, Birgunj Dry Port has been facing lots of problems due to the negligence of Indian Railwlays while importing goods from Kolkata.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Haldia Dock Complex Chairman G Senthilvel assured to provide quality service to Nepali importers at Haldia Port. He said that he would ensure that the shipping companies would not have to pay exorbitant prices for using the service of Haldia Port and also claimed that the service there has been efficient.</p>

<p>Nepali importers had to pay a fine of more than Rs 8 billion to Kolkata Port Trust and Indian shipping companies due to the Madhes agitation and blockade imposed by India in late 2015.</p>

<p>Shah informed that the provincial headquarters of the bank has already been initiated from Butwal in Province 5. He further announced that the bank is in the process of merger with Tourism Development Bank and claimed that Mega Bank will become one of the banks with highest capital after the merger.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The merger with Tourism Development Bank will get completed within this fiscal year,&rdquo; said Shah.</p>

<p>Mega Bank&rsquo;s CEO Anil Keshari Shah informed that the bank plans open 20 new branches in the next fiscal year. Stating that the recent local level elections have opened new doors of economic potential, CEO Shah said that the bank will capitalize on it by expanding its branches in the new municipalities and rural municipalities.</p>

<p>He further informed that the bank has already initiated the process to issue 65 percent rights shares to its shareholders. According to him, around 20 million units of shares each worth Rs 100 will be issued to the shareholders.</p>

<p>CEO Shah also shed light of the bank assurance plan in coordination with Nepal Life Insurance Company and other insurance companies in the near future.</p>

<p>In the last fiscal year, the bank&rsquo;s deposit collection rose by Rs 8 billion to a total of Rs 39 billion while its loan flow has also increased by Rs 7.4 billion. The bank has around 260,000 account holders, 47 branches, one extension counter, 58 ATM outlets and provides branchless service from 58 places.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The aircraft manufactured by ATR company of France arrived in Kathmandu from Singapore. The aircraft was purchased from Nordic Aviation Capital of Singapore, informed the airlines Manager Bhim Raj Rai. &ldquo;This airplane will fly to Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj and Bhadrapur after a week,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p>With the new ATR, Yeti Airlines now operates through a total of seven aircrafts. The other six aircrafts are 30-seater Jetstream-41. Yeti Airlines has further plans to add two more ATRs to its fleet later this year.&nbsp;</p>

<p><span style="font-size:18px"><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif">During the occasion, chief guest Prof Dr Tirtha Khania, vice chancellor of Tribhuvan University, said that the award would act as an encouragement at a time when management colleges are gaining popularity in the country. </span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:18px"><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif">&ldquo;There are lots of foreign students in TU. But the university has not been able to gain recognition in the international arena,&rdquo; said Prof Khania, adding, &ldquo;I hope the colleges having competition at the national level will emerge in the international scene in the future.&rdquo;</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:18px"><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif">Kathmandu University School of Management (Kusom) had won the first two editions of the award in 2013 and 2014. According to the organiser, such kind of award was held to encourage business colleges and to stress on quality education.</span></span></p>

<p>Madhav Rajpal, secretary at the Birgunj chapter of Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries, said that the Nepali importers have been facing problem of importing raw materials and other goods due to the reduction in number of racks.</p>

<p>Indian Railways, on the other hand, says that it took such measure since lots of goods have already piled up in Raxaul causing congestion. &nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;The local businessmen in and around Birgunj depend on the raw materials imported from this customs point. Our production has been hampered after the Indian Railways denied racks for us,&rdquo; said Rajpal.</p>

<p>The import of daily essentials has also been affected, according to the importers.</p>

<p>Recently, the Indian Railways had imposed fines up to six times the normal amount for unloading goods in a bid to ease the congestion. But since July 8, it also stopped providing racks to the Nepali businessmen.</p>

<p>According to Rajpal, the Indian Railways has decided not to provide racks till July 22 but the date may be extended for a few days.</p>

<p>The entrepreneurs expressed their problems due to the delay caused by Kolkata Port Trust during an interaction jointly organized by Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BICCI) and Haldia Dock Complex, the company which operates Haldia Seaport, in Birgunj on July 21.</p>

<p>BICCI Chairman Om Prakash Sharma said that they have been unable to utilize Haldia port even thought they are facing trouble due to mismanagement in Kolkata. Haldia port is 120 kilometers away from Kolkata.</p>

<p>Sharma said they have been forced to look for alternatives as the officials of Kolkata Port Trust have turned a deaf ear to their grievances.</p>

<p>Kolkata is the nearest seaport from Nepal. It is 704 km from Birgunj. However, immediate past chairman of BICCI Pradeep Kumar Kedia said that Haldia would be a suitable alternative to Kolkata even though it is a little far away.</p>

<p>According to Kedia, Birgunj Dry Port has been facing lots of problems due to the negligence of Indian Railwlays while importing goods from Kolkata.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Haldia Dock Complex Chairman G Senthilvel assured to provide quality service to Nepali importers at Haldia Port. He said that he would ensure that the shipping companies would not have to pay exorbitant prices for using the service of Haldia Port and also claimed that the service there has been efficient.</p>

<p>Nepali importers had to pay a fine of more than Rs 8 billion to Kolkata Port Trust and Indian shipping companies due to the Madhes agitation and blockade imposed by India in late 2015.</p>

Stating that the recent local level elections have opened new doors of economic potential, CEO Shah said that the bank will capitalize on it by expanding its branches in the new municipalities and rural municipalities.</p>

<p>He further informed that the bank has already initiated the process to issue 65 percent rights shares to its shareholders. According to him, around 20 million units of shares each worth Rs 100 will be issued to the shareholders.</p>

<p>CEO Shah also shed light of the bank assurance plan in coordination with Nepal Life Insurance Company and other insurance companies in the near future.</p>

<p>In the last fiscal year, the bank&rsquo;s deposit collection rose by Rs 8 billion to a total of Rs 39 billion while its loan flow has also increased by Rs 7.4 billion. The bank has around 260,000 account holders, 47 branches, one extension counter, 58 ATM outlets and provides branchless service from 58 places.&nbsp;</p>

<p><span style="font-size:18px"><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif">The jury&rsquo;s coordinator Thapa said they decided the winner after various rounds of discussions and analysis.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:18px"><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif">&ldquo;It was a real challenge for us to decide the winner within a limited time,&rdquo; said Thapa, adding, &ldquo;It will be better if the colleges ger pre-information about the criteria for selection from next edition onwards,&rdquo; said Thapa. </span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:18px"><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif">During the occasion, chief guest Prof Dr Tirtha Khania, vice chancellor of Tribhuvan University, said that the award would act as an encouragement at a time when management colleges are gaining popularity in the country. </span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:18px"><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif">&ldquo;There are lots of foreign students in TU. But the university has not been able to gain recognition in the international arena,&rdquo; said Prof Khania, adding, &ldquo;I hope the colleges having competition at the national level will emerge in the international scene in the future.&rdquo;</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:18px"><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif">Kathmandu University School of Management (Kusom) had won the first two editions of the award in 2013 and 2014. According to the organiser, such kind of award was held to encourage business colleges and to stress on quality education.</span></span></p>

The decision of the Indian Railways to allocate less number of racks for goods being imported from India and third countries have left the Nepali business community worried.</p>

<p>Madhav Rajpal, secretary at the Birgunj chapter of Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries, said that the Nepali importers have been facing problem of importing raw materials and other goods due to the reduction in number of racks.</p>

<p>Indian Railways, on the other hand, says that it took such measure since lots of goods have already piled up in Raxaul causing congestion. &nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;The local businessmen in and around Birgunj depend on the raw materials imported from this customs point. Our production has been hampered after the Indian Railways denied racks for us,&rdquo; said Rajpal.</p>

<p>The import of daily essentials has also been affected, according to the importers.</p>

<p>Recently, the Indian Railways had imposed fines up to six times the normal amount for unloading goods in a bid to ease the congestion. But since July 8, it also stopped providing racks to the Nepali businessmen.</p>

<p>According to Rajpal, the Indian Railways has decided not to provide racks till July 22 but the date may be extended for a few days.</p>

<p>The entrepreneurs expressed their problems due to the delay caused by Kolkata Port Trust during an interaction jointly organized by Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BICCI) and Haldia Dock Complex, the company which operates Haldia Seaport, in Birgunj on July 21.</p>

<p>BICCI Chairman Om Prakash Sharma said that they have been unable to utilize Haldia port even thought they are facing trouble due to mismanagement in Kolkata. Haldia port is 120 kilometers away from Kolkata.</p>

<p>Sharma said they have been forced to look for alternatives as the officials of Kolkata Port Trust have turned a deaf ear to their grievances.</p>

<p>Kolkata is the nearest seaport from Nepal. It is 704 km from Birgunj. However, immediate past chairman of BICCI Pradeep Kumar Kedia said that Haldia would be a suitable alternative to Kolkata even though it is a little far away.</p>

<p>According to Kedia, Birgunj Dry Port has been facing lots of problems due to the negligence of Indian Railwlays while importing goods from Kolkata.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Haldia Dock Complex Chairman G Senthilvel assured to provide quality service to Nepali importers at Haldia Port. He said that he would ensure that the shipping companies would not have to pay exorbitant prices for using the service of Haldia Port and also claimed that the service there has been efficient.</p>

<p>Nepali importers had to pay a fine of more than Rs 8 billion to Kolkata Port Trust and Indian shipping companies due to the Madhes agitation and blockade imposed by India in late 2015.</p>

<p>Shah informed that the provincial headquarters of the bank has already been initiated from Butwal in Province 5. He further announced that the bank is in the process of merger with Tourism Development Bank and claimed that Mega Bank will become one of the banks with highest capital after the merger.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The merger with Tourism Development Bank will get completed within this fiscal year,&rdquo; said Shah.</p>

<p>Mega Bank&rsquo;s CEO Anil Keshari Shah informed that the bank plans open 20 new branches in the next fiscal year. Stating that the recent local level elections have opened new doors of economic potential, CEO Shah said that the bank will capitalize on it by expanding its branches in the new municipalities and rural municipalities.</p>

<p>He further informed that the bank has already initiated the process to issue 65 percent rights shares to its shareholders. According to him, around 20 million units of shares each worth Rs 100 will be issued to the shareholders.</p>

<p>CEO Shah also shed light of the bank assurance plan in coordination with Nepal Life Insurance Company and other insurance companies in the near future.</p>

<p>In the last fiscal year, the bank&rsquo;s deposit collection rose by Rs 8 billion to a total of Rs 39 billion while its loan flow has also increased by Rs 7.4 billion. The bank has around 260,000 account holders, 47 branches, one extension counter, 58 ATM outlets and provides branchless service from 58 places.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The aircraft manufactured by ATR company of France arrived in Kathmandu from Singapore. The aircraft was purchased from Nordic Aviation Capital of Singapore, informed the airlines Manager Bhim Raj Rai. &ldquo;This airplane will fly to Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj and Bhadrapur after a week,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p><span style="font-size:18px"><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif">Kathmandu University School of Management (Kusom) had won the first two editions of the award in 2013 and 2014. According to the organiser, such kind of award was held to encourage business colleges and to stress on quality education.</span></span></p>

<p>Madhav Rajpal, secretary at the Birgunj chapter of Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries, said that the Nepali importers have been facing problem of importing raw materials and other goods due to the reduction in number of racks.</p>

<p>Indian Railways, on the other hand, says that it took such measure since lots of goods have already piled up in Raxaul causing congestion. &nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;The local businessmen in and around Birgunj depend on the raw materials imported from this customs point. Our production has been hampered after the Indian Railways denied racks for us,&rdquo; said Rajpal.</p>

<p>The import of daily essentials has also been affected, according to the importers.</p>

<p>Recently, the Indian Railways had imposed fines up to six times the normal amount for unloading goods in a bid to ease the congestion. But since July 8, it also stopped providing racks to the Nepali businessmen.</p>

<p>According to Rajpal, the Indian Railways has decided not to provide racks till July 22 but the date may be extended for a few days.</p>

<p>The entrepreneurs expressed their problems due to the delay caused by Kolkata Port Trust during an interaction jointly organized by Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BICCI) and Haldia Dock Complex, the company which operates Haldia Seaport, in Birgunj on July 21.</p>

<p>BICCI Chairman Om Prakash Sharma said that they have been unable to utilize Haldia port even thought they are facing trouble due to mismanagement in Kolkata. Haldia port is 120 kilometers away from Kolkata.</p>

<p>Sharma said they have been forced to look for alternatives as the officials of Kolkata Port Trust have turned a deaf ear to their grievances.</p>

<p>Kolkata is the nearest seaport from Nepal. It is 704 km from Birgunj. However, immediate past chairman of BICCI Pradeep Kumar Kedia said that Haldia would be a suitable alternative to Kolkata even though it is a little far away.</p>

<p>According to Kedia, Birgunj Dry Port has been facing lots of problems due to the negligence of Indian Railwlays while importing goods from Kolkata.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Haldia Dock Complex Chairman G Senthilvel assured to provide quality service to Nepali importers at Haldia Port. He said that he would ensure that the shipping companies would not have to pay exorbitant prices for using the service of Haldia Port and also claimed that the service there has been efficient.</p>

<p>Nepali importers had to pay a fine of more than Rs 8 billion to Kolkata Port Trust and Indian shipping companies due to the Madhes agitation and blockade imposed by India in late 2015.</p>

<p>Mega Bank&rsquo;s CEO Anil Keshari Shah informed that the bank plans open 20 new branches in the next fiscal year. Stating that the recent local level elections have opened new doors of economic potential, CEO Shah said that the bank will capitalize on it by expanding its branches in the new municipalities and rural municipalities.</p>

<p>He further informed that the bank has already initiated the process to issue 65 percent rights shares to its shareholders. According to him, around 20 million units of shares each worth Rs 100 will be issued to the shareholders.</p>

<p>CEO Shah also shed light of the bank assurance plan in coordination with Nepal Life Insurance Company and other insurance companies in the near future.</p>

<p>In the last fiscal year, the bank&rsquo;s deposit collection rose by Rs 8 billion to a total of Rs 39 billion while its loan flow has also increased by Rs 7.4 billion. The bank has around 260,000 account holders, 47 branches, one extension counter, 58 ATM outlets and provides branchless service from 58 places.&nbsp;</p>

The jury looked after various aspects of the colleges before finalising the winners.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:18px"><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif">The jury&rsquo;s coordinator Thapa said they decided the winner after various rounds of discussions and analysis.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:18px"><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif">&ldquo;It was a real challenge for us to decide the winner within a limited time,&rdquo; said Thapa, adding, &ldquo;It will be better if the colleges ger pre-information about the criteria for selection from next edition onwards,&rdquo; said Thapa. </span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:18px"><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif">During the occasion, chief guest Prof Dr Tirtha Khania, vice chancellor of Tribhuvan University, said that the award would act as an encouragement at a time when management colleges are gaining popularity in the country. </span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:18px"><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif">&ldquo;There are lots of foreign students in TU. But the university has not been able to gain recognition in the international arena,&rdquo; said Prof Khania, adding, &ldquo;I hope the colleges having competition at the national level will emerge in the international scene in the future.&rdquo;</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:18px"><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif">Kathmandu University School of Management (Kusom) had won the first two editions of the award in 2013 and 2014. According to the organiser, such kind of award was held to encourage business colleges and to stress on quality education.</span></span></p>

The decision of the Indian Railways to allocate less number of racks for goods being imported from India and third countries have left the Nepali business community worried.</p>

<p>Madhav Rajpal, secretary at the Birgunj chapter of Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries, said that the Nepali importers have been facing problem of importing raw materials and other goods due to the reduction in number of racks.</p>

<p>Indian Railways, on the other hand, says that it took such measure since lots of goods have already piled up in Raxaul causing congestion. &nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;The local businessmen in and around Birgunj depend on the raw materials imported from this customs point. Our production has been hampered after the Indian Railways denied racks for us,&rdquo; said Rajpal.</p>

<p>The import of daily essentials has also been affected, according to the importers.</p>

<p>Recently, the Indian Railways had imposed fines up to six times the normal amount for unloading goods in a bid to ease the congestion. But since July 8, it also stopped providing racks to the Nepali businessmen.</p>

<p>According to Rajpal, the Indian Railways has decided not to provide racks till July 22 but the date may be extended for a few days.</p>
