<p>A delegation of Nepali businesspersons led by Birgunj Chamber of Commerce Secretary Madhav Rajpal met with the Indian Railways officials of Samastipur and requested them for proper management of the railway yard at Raxaul. According to the Nepali delegation, they have been facing lots of problems due to insufficient and dilapidated infrastructure of Raxaul railway yard, excessive jam, exorbitant fine and band condition of road.</p>

<p>They requested the railways authorities to make improvement in the overall management during a field visit of &nbsp;regional railway manager Rabindra Kumar Jain to Raxaul. Rajpal handed a memorandum on behalf of the Nepali entrepreneurs to Jain. They informed the railways authorities that the import of goods through Raxaul has increased a lot in the recent years but the capacity of the railway yard remains the same. On top of it, the Indian Railways has been imposing heavy fine after the goods started getting stocked in the railway yard. Nepali businessmen have been incurring millions of rupees in fine since the Indian railways introduced 24-hour load-unload provision and also hiked the fine six times.</p>

<p>Indian Railways has asked the Nepali businessmen to clear their goods within 24 hours saying that the stockpile of goods have caused congestion in the railway yard. But the customs points of both Birgunj and Raxaul remain closed during night. In addition to it, the Nepali entrepreneurs cannot clear the goods in time because it is difficult to find labourers during odd hours.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We have asked the Indian Rrailways authorities to take back the 24-hour deadline to clear goods. They said they will seek solution to the problem,&rdquo; said Rajpal.</p>

<p>A year ago, the railway yard used to remain open round the clock. The time given to unload goods is normally nine hours and an additional 12 hours is given to clear the goods. Until recent, the fine for keeping goods there for more than the stipulated time was Rs 150 per wagon but that amount has been increased six times now.&nbsp;</p>

The companies are getting ready to issue 33.5 million units of shares in Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) and 23.2 million units in Follow-on Public Offerings (FPOs). Out of the 21 companies, 19 have sought permission from the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) while two &ndash; Pokhara Finance and Nepal Hydro Developer &ndash; have already received share issuance permission.</p>

<p>Till date, 21 companies have been permitted by the securities market regulator to issue 54.1 million units of shares worth Rs 12.74 billion. The two companies that have received the permission are yet to issue the shares to the general public.</p>

<p>Pokhara Finance has been permitted to issue 983,682 units of share in FPO at the rate of Rs 220 (Rs 100 minimum and Rs 120 premium) per unit. Likewise, Nepal Hydro Developer has been permitted to float 390,000 &nbsp;units of shares in IPO.</p>

<p>Among the 19 companies seeking permission to issue shares, five have applied for FPO while the remaining 14 the applicants for IPO. Premier Insurance, Butwal Power, Bank of Kathmandu, Nepal Gramin Bikas Bank and NMB Bank are the companies to issue shares in FPOs. Meanwhile, hydropower companies lead the pack of companies preparing to issue shares in IPOs. Twelve of the 14 companies interested in issuing shares in IPOs are hydropower companies.</p>

<p>The process of buying of shares has become convenient after SEBON adopted Applications Supported by Blocked Amount (<em>ASBA</em>)&nbsp;S<em>ystem. Also, the mandatory provision to issue 10 units of shares is likely to encourage small investors to buy shares. </em>&nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;The concerned body has already acquired land for the construction of dry port at Korala Customs Point,&rdquo; said Basnet.</p>

<p>The process to build dry port at Korala was initiated about a decade ago in 2007 but the plan gathered dust due to political upheaval and prolonged transition period.</p>

<p>The customs office has acquired 109 ropanis of land for the dry port, informed Basnet.</p>

<p>The customs office building, storage house and hot room for staff have already been built, according Mustang district&rsquo;s customs chief Shukra Darshan Dhungana.</p>

<p>The construction of 435-kilometer road from Gaidakot to Korala along the Kaligandaki Corridor is being expedited and the work is expected to finish within three years, according to the Kaligandai Corridor Project. Currently, border out posts of Armed Police Force are being set up around Korala while Nepal Army has been setting up barracks in Upper Mustang, informed Basnet.</p>

<p>A delegation of Nepali businesspersons led by Birgunj Chamber of Commerce Secretary Madhav Rajpal met with the Indian Railways officials of Samastipur and requested them for proper management of the railway yard at Raxaul. According to the Nepali delegation, they have been facing lots of problems due to insufficient and dilapidated infrastructure of Raxaul railway yard, excessive jam, exorbitant fine and band condition of road.</p>

<p>They requested the railways authorities to make improvement in the overall management during a field visit of &nbsp;regional railway manager Rabindra Kumar Jain to Raxaul. Rajpal handed a memorandum on behalf of the Nepali entrepreneurs to Jain. They informed the railways authorities that the import of goods through Raxaul has increased a lot in the recent years but the capacity of the railway yard remains the same. On top of it, the Indian Railways has been imposing heavy fine after the goods started getting stocked in the railway yard. Nepali businessmen have been incurring millions of rupees in fine since the Indian railways introduced 24-hour load-unload provision and also hiked the fine six times.</p>

<p>Indian Railways has asked the Nepali businessmen to clear their goods within 24 hours saying that the stockpile of goods have caused congestion in the railway yard. But the customs points of both Birgunj and Raxaul remain closed during night. In addition to it, the Nepali entrepreneurs cannot clear the goods in time because it is difficult to find labourers during odd hours.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We have asked the Indian Rrailways authorities to take back the 24-hour deadline to clear goods. They said they will seek solution to the problem,&rdquo; said Rajpal.</p>

<p>A year ago, the railway yard used to remain open round the clock. The time given to unload goods is normally nine hours and an additional 12 hours is given to clear the goods. Until recent, the fine for keeping goods there for more than the stipulated time was Rs 150 per wagon but that amount has been increased six times now.&nbsp;</p>

			'content' => '<p>July 30: Twenty-one companies are preparing to float a total of 53.8 million units of shares in the stock market soon. The companies are getting ready to issue 33.5 million units of shares in Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) and 23.2 million units in Follow-on Public Offerings (FPOs). Out of the 21 companies, 19 have sought permission from the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) while two &ndash; Pokhara Finance and Nepal Hydro Developer &ndash; have already received share issuance permission.</p>

<p>Till date, 21 companies have been permitted by the securities market regulator to issue 54.1 million units of shares worth Rs 12.74 billion. The two companies that have received the permission are yet to issue the shares to the general public.</p>

<p>Pokhara Finance has been permitted to issue 983,682 units of share in FPO at the rate of Rs 220 (Rs 100 minimum and Rs 120 premium) per unit. Likewise, Nepal Hydro Developer has been permitted to float 390,000 &nbsp;units of shares in IPO.</p>

<p>Among the 19 companies seeking permission to issue shares, five have applied for FPO while the remaining 14 the applicants for IPO. Premier Insurance, Butwal Power, Bank of Kathmandu, Nepal Gramin Bikas Bank and NMB Bank are the companies to issue shares in FPOs. Meanwhile, hydropower companies lead the pack of companies preparing to issue shares in IPOs. Twelve of the 14 companies interested in issuing shares in IPOs are hydropower companies.</p>

<p>The process of buying of shares has become convenient after SEBON adopted Applications Supported by Blocked Amount (<em>ASBA</em>)&nbsp;S<em>ystem. Also, the mandatory provision to issue 10 units of shares is likely to encourage small investors to buy shares. </em>&nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;The concerned body has already acquired land for the construction of dry port at Korala Customs Point,&rdquo; said Basnet.</p>

<p>The process to build dry port at Korala was initiated about a decade ago in 2007 but the plan gathered dust due to political upheaval and prolonged transition period.</p>

<p>The customs office has acquired 109 ropanis of land for the dry port, informed Basnet.</p>

<p>The customs office building, storage house and hot room for staff have already been built, according Mustang district&rsquo;s customs chief Shukra Darshan Dhungana.</p>

<p>The construction of 435-kilometer road from Gaidakot to Korala along the Kaligandaki Corridor is being expedited and the work is expected to finish within three years, according to the Kaligandai Corridor Project. Currently, border out posts of Armed Police Force are being set up around Korala while Nepal Army has been setting up barracks in Upper Mustang, informed Basnet.</p>

<p>A delegation of Nepali businesspersons led by Birgunj Chamber of Commerce Secretary Madhav Rajpal met with the Indian Railways officials of Samastipur and requested them for proper management of the railway yard at Raxaul. According to the Nepali delegation, they have been facing lots of problems due to insufficient and dilapidated infrastructure of Raxaul railway yard, excessive jam, exorbitant fine and band condition of road.</p>

<p>They requested the railways authorities to make improvement in the overall management during a field visit of &nbsp;regional railway manager Rabindra Kumar Jain to Raxaul. Rajpal handed a memorandum on behalf of the Nepali entrepreneurs to Jain. They informed the railways authorities that the import of goods through Raxaul has increased a lot in the recent years but the capacity of the railway yard remains the same. On top of it, the Indian Railways has been imposing heavy fine after the goods started getting stocked in the railway yard. Nepali businessmen have been incurring millions of rupees in fine since the Indian railways introduced 24-hour load-unload provision and also hiked the fine six times.</p>

<p>Indian Railways has asked the Nepali businessmen to clear their goods within 24 hours saying that the stockpile of goods have caused congestion in the railway yard. But the customs points of both Birgunj and Raxaul remain closed during night. In addition to it, the Nepali entrepreneurs cannot clear the goods in time because it is difficult to find labourers during odd hours.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We have asked the Indian Rrailways authorities to take back the 24-hour deadline to clear goods. They said they will seek solution to the problem,&rdquo; said Rajpal.</p>

<p>A year ago, the railway yard used to remain open round the clock. The time given to unload goods is normally nine hours and an additional 12 hours is given to clear the goods. Until recent, the fine for keeping goods there for more than the stipulated time was Rs 150 per wagon but that amount has been increased six times now.&nbsp;</p>

The companies are getting ready to issue 33.5 million units of shares in Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) and 23.2 million units in Follow-on Public Offerings (FPOs). Out of the 21 companies, 19 have sought permission from the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) while two &ndash; Pokhara Finance and Nepal Hydro Developer &ndash; have already received share issuance permission.</p>

<p>Till date, 21 companies have been permitted by the securities market regulator to issue 54.1 million units of shares worth Rs 12.74 billion. The two companies that have received the permission are yet to issue the shares to the general public.</p>

<p>Pokhara Finance has been permitted to issue 983,682 units of share in FPO at the rate of Rs 220 (Rs 100 minimum and Rs 120 premium) per unit. Likewise, Nepal Hydro Developer has been permitted to float 390,000 &nbsp;units of shares in IPO.</p>

<p>Among the 19 companies seeking permission to issue shares, five have applied for FPO while the remaining 14 the applicants for IPO. Premier Insurance, Butwal Power, Bank of Kathmandu, Nepal Gramin Bikas Bank and NMB Bank are the companies to issue shares in FPOs. Meanwhile, hydropower companies lead the pack of companies preparing to issue shares in IPOs. Twelve of the 14 companies interested in issuing shares in IPOs are hydropower companies.</p>

<p>The process of buying of shares has become convenient after SEBON adopted Applications Supported by Blocked Amount (<em>ASBA</em>)&nbsp;S<em>ystem. Also, the mandatory provision to issue 10 units of shares is likely to encourage small investors to buy shares. </em>&nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;The concerned body has already acquired land for the construction of dry port at Korala Customs Point,&rdquo; said Basnet.</p>

<p>The process to build dry port at Korala was initiated about a decade ago in 2007 but the plan gathered dust due to political upheaval and prolonged transition period.</p>

<p>The customs office has acquired 109 ropanis of land for the dry port, informed Basnet.</p>

<p>The customs office building, storage house and hot room for staff have already been built, according Mustang district&rsquo;s customs chief Shukra Darshan Dhungana.</p>

<p>The construction of 435-kilometer road from Gaidakot to Korala along the Kaligandaki Corridor is being expedited and the work is expected to finish within three years, according to the Kaligandai Corridor Project. Currently, border out posts of Armed Police Force are being set up around Korala while Nepal Army has been setting up barracks in Upper Mustang, informed Basnet.</p>

<p>A delegation of Nepali businesspersons led by Birgunj Chamber of Commerce Secretary Madhav Rajpal met with the Indian Railways officials of Samastipur and requested them for proper management of the railway yard at Raxaul. According to the Nepali delegation, they have been facing lots of problems due to insufficient and dilapidated infrastructure of Raxaul railway yard, excessive jam, exorbitant fine and band condition of road.</p>

<p>They requested the railways authorities to make improvement in the overall management during a field visit of &nbsp;regional railway manager Rabindra Kumar Jain to Raxaul. Rajpal handed a memorandum on behalf of the Nepali entrepreneurs to Jain. They informed the railways authorities that the import of goods through Raxaul has increased a lot in the recent years but the capacity of the railway yard remains the same. On top of it, the Indian Railways has been imposing heavy fine after the goods started getting stocked in the railway yard. Nepali businessmen have been incurring millions of rupees in fine since the Indian railways introduced 24-hour load-unload provision and also hiked the fine six times.</p>

<p>Indian Railways has asked the Nepali businessmen to clear their goods within 24 hours saying that the stockpile of goods have caused congestion in the railway yard. But the customs points of both Birgunj and Raxaul remain closed during night. In addition to it, the Nepali entrepreneurs cannot clear the goods in time because it is difficult to find labourers during odd hours.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We have asked the Indian Rrailways authorities to take back the 24-hour deadline to clear goods. They said they will seek solution to the problem,&rdquo; said Rajpal.</p>

<p>A year ago, the railway yard used to remain open round the clock. The time given to unload goods is normally nine hours and an additional 12 hours is given to clear the goods. Until recent, the fine for keeping goods there for more than the stipulated time was Rs 150 per wagon but that amount has been increased six times now.&nbsp;</p>

The companies are getting ready to issue 33.5 million units of shares in Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) and 23.2 million units in Follow-on Public Offerings (FPOs). Out of the 21 companies, 19 have sought permission from the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) while two &ndash; Pokhara Finance and Nepal Hydro Developer &ndash; have already received share issuance permission.</p>

<p>Till date, 21 companies have been permitted by the securities market regulator to issue 54.1 million units of shares worth Rs 12.74 billion. The two companies that have received the permission are yet to issue the shares to the general public.</p>

<p>Pokhara Finance has been permitted to issue 983,682 units of share in FPO at the rate of Rs 220 (Rs 100 minimum and Rs 120 premium) per unit. Likewise, Nepal Hydro Developer has been permitted to float 390,000 &nbsp;units of shares in IPO.</p>

<p>Among the 19 companies seeking permission to issue shares, five have applied for FPO while the remaining 14 the applicants for IPO. Premier Insurance, Butwal Power, Bank of Kathmandu, Nepal Gramin Bikas Bank and NMB Bank are the companies to issue shares in FPOs. Meanwhile, hydropower companies lead the pack of companies preparing to issue shares in IPOs. Twelve of the 14 companies interested in issuing shares in IPOs are hydropower companies.</p>

<p>The process of buying of shares has become convenient after SEBON adopted Applications Supported by Blocked Amount (<em>ASBA</em>)&nbsp;S<em>ystem. Also, the mandatory provision to issue 10 units of shares is likely to encourage small investors to buy shares. </em>&nbsp;</p>

<p>The design for the dry port has been already prepared and the construction works has also started after the government allocated budget for the project in the last fiscal year, informed Laxman Basnet, acting director of Intermodel Transportation Development Committee.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The concerned body has already acquired land for the construction of dry port at Korala Customs Point,&rdquo; said Basnet.</p>

<p>The process to build dry port at Korala was initiated about a decade ago in 2007 but the plan gathered dust due to political upheaval and prolonged transition period.</p>

<p>The customs office has acquired 109 ropanis of land for the dry port, informed Basnet.</p>

<p>The customs office building, storage house and hot room for staff have already been built, according Mustang district&rsquo;s customs chief Shukra Darshan Dhungana.</p>

<p>The construction of 435-kilometer road from Gaidakot to Korala along the Kaligandaki Corridor is being expedited and the work is expected to finish within three years, according to the Kaligandai Corridor Project. Currently, border out posts of Armed Police Force are being set up around Korala while Nepal Army has been setting up barracks in Upper Mustang, informed Basnet.</p>
