<p>The seminar which was organized in Kathmandu had series of talks on how Nepalis can have access to renewable energy easily. The seminar also aimed at promoting Nordic values in Nepal, as well as how every stakeholder can equally engage to make energy accessible to everyone in the country.</p>

<p>The seminar was entitled &lsquo;Nordic Talks and Exhibition&rsquo;.</p>

<p>The Nordic Model is a common term for the socio-economic policies governing the Nordic countries like Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.</p>

<p>A statement jointly issued by the organizers reads, &ldquo;The experiences from Nordic countries, both on the role of the private sector and the government policies, can provide lessons and energize a green transaction with renewable energy for future of Nepal.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Speaking at the seminar, Khadga Bahadur Bisht, who is the head of Stakeholder Management and Business Development, said that Nepal is picking up pace on the use of renewable energy.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has also put its full effort now to make electricity accessible to every household. The effort of NEA to end load shedding should be praised,&rdquo; he said, adding that the dream of Nepal to produce 10,000 MW electricity will not be possible without the help and support from every stakeholder.</p>

<p>Likewise, Sheelagh O Reilly, monitoring, evaluation and learning principal consultant for IOD PARC said that Nepal needs to focus on testing of the&nbsp; equipment that are imported from other countries.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The testing of equipment will ensure that the plants which generate renewable energy will be long lasting, which will be handy to save money for people and the whole country,&rdquo; she said.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The relationship between the government, private sector and citizens of Nepal, as well as with neighboring countries, will play an ever-increasing role in Nepal&rsquo;s own journey towards sustainable, renewable and inclusive foreign trade,&rdquo; the statement added.</p>

<p>Locals aspiring to go abroad or to the cities for work have started returning to the villages as the new road has opened new prospects of employment.&nbsp;</p>

The verdict was issued by the full bench of the apex court about a year ago but the full text was published in Nepal&rsquo;s law journal on Tuesday.</p>

<p>Earlier, a joint bench of SC justices had issued a verdict that only the monies proven to have been earned through illegal means would be considered money laundering. However, the full bench of justices overturned the verdict and ruled that any money lacking source of income would be considered money laundering.</p>

<p>On July 10, 2013, the joint bench of SC justices had set a precedent saying that the money held by Sunil Jaiswal and others cannot be considered money laundering unless it was proven that the money was earned through illegal means.</p>

<p>However, the full bench of justices Jagdish Sharma Poudel, Meera Khadka and Dr Anand Mohan Bhattarai overturned the precedent and ruled that the money held Madhav Kumar Bhagat and Ashok Kumar Kar accounted to money laundering as they were unable to show the source of income.</p>

<p>Section 28 of the Money Laundering Act, 2064 states that the accused must show the source of income if their property is not in proportion to their income or financial status, if they maintain a high standard of life and donates more than one&rsquo;s capacity. If the accused fail to show the source of income then the money will be considered as money laundering.</p>

<p>The defendant Bhagat had claimed that the money he had belonged to Indian nationals but failed to establish his claims. Police had confiscated Rs 1.8 million from the accused.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The seminar was entitled &lsquo;Nordic Talks and Exhibition&rsquo;.</p>

<p>The Nordic Model is a common term for the socio-economic policies governing the Nordic countries like Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.</p>

<p>A statement jointly issued by the organizers reads, &ldquo;The experiences from Nordic countries, both on the role of the private sector and the government policies, can provide lessons and energize a green transaction with renewable energy for future of Nepal.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Speaking at the seminar, Khadga Bahadur Bisht, who is the head of Stakeholder Management and Business Development, said that Nepal is picking up pace on the use of renewable energy.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has also put its full effort now to make electricity accessible to every household. The effort of NEA to end load shedding should be praised,&rdquo; he said, adding that the dream of Nepal to produce 10,000 MW electricity will not be possible without the help and support from every stakeholder.</p>

<p>Likewise, Sheelagh O Reilly, monitoring, evaluation and learning principal consultant for IOD PARC said that Nepal needs to focus on testing of the&nbsp; equipment that are imported from other countries.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The testing of equipment will ensure that the plants which generate renewable energy will be long lasting, which will be handy to save money for people and the whole country,&rdquo; she said.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The relationship between the government, private sector and citizens of Nepal, as well as with neighboring countries, will play an ever-increasing role in Nepal&rsquo;s own journey towards sustainable, renewable and inclusive foreign trade,&rdquo; the statement added.</p>

			'content' => '<p>October 11: The Supreme Court (SC) has ruled that the money for which source cannot be disclosed would be considered as laundered money. The verdict was issued by the full bench of the apex court about a year ago but the full text was published in Nepal&rsquo;s law journal on Tuesday.</p>

<p>Earlier, a joint bench of SC justices had issued a verdict that only the monies proven to have been earned through illegal means would be considered money laundering. However, the full bench of justices overturned the verdict and ruled that any money lacking source of income would be considered money laundering.</p>

<p>On July 10, 2013, the joint bench of SC justices had set a precedent saying that the money held by Sunil Jaiswal and others cannot be considered money laundering unless it was proven that the money was earned through illegal means.</p>

<p>However, the full bench of justices Jagdish Sharma Poudel, Meera Khadka and Dr Anand Mohan Bhattarai overturned the precedent and ruled that the money held Madhav Kumar Bhagat and Ashok Kumar Kar accounted to money laundering as they were unable to show the source of income.</p>

<p>Section 28 of the Money Laundering Act, 2064 states that the accused must show the source of income if their property is not in proportion to their income or financial status, if they maintain a high standard of life and donates more than one&rsquo;s capacity. If the accused fail to show the source of income then the money will be considered as money laundering.</p>

<p>The defendant Bhagat had claimed that the money he had belonged to Indian nationals but failed to establish his claims. Police had confiscated Rs 1.8 million from the accused.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sharma said that the locals have not yet stopped using postal service though.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Speaking at the seminar, Khadga Bahadur Bisht, who is the head of Stakeholder Management and Business Development, said that Nepal is picking up pace on the use of renewable energy.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has also put its full effort now to make electricity accessible to every household. The effort of NEA to end load shedding should be praised,&rdquo; he said, adding that the dream of Nepal to produce 10,000 MW electricity will not be possible without the help and support from every stakeholder.</p>

<p>Likewise, Sheelagh O Reilly, monitoring, evaluation and learning principal consultant for IOD PARC said that Nepal needs to focus on testing of the&nbsp; equipment that are imported from other countries.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The testing of equipment will ensure that the plants which generate renewable energy will be long lasting, which will be handy to save money for people and the whole country,&rdquo; she said.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The relationship between the government, private sector and citizens of Nepal, as well as with neighboring countries, will play an ever-increasing role in Nepal&rsquo;s own journey towards sustainable, renewable and inclusive foreign trade,&rdquo; the statement added.</p>

The verdict was issued by the full bench of the apex court about a year ago but the full text was published in Nepal&rsquo;s law journal on Tuesday.</p>

<p>Earlier, a joint bench of SC justices had issued a verdict that only the monies proven to have been earned through illegal means would be considered money laundering. However, the full bench of justices overturned the verdict and ruled that any money lacking source of income would be considered money laundering.</p>

<p>On July 10, 2013, the joint bench of SC justices had set a precedent saying that the money held by Sunil Jaiswal and others cannot be considered money laundering unless it was proven that the money was earned through illegal means.</p>

<p>However, the full bench of justices Jagdish Sharma Poudel, Meera Khadka and Dr Anand Mohan Bhattarai overturned the precedent and ruled that the money held Madhav Kumar Bhagat and Ashok Kumar Kar accounted to money laundering as they were unable to show the source of income.</p>

<p>Section 28 of the Money Laundering Act, 2064 states that the accused must show the source of income if their property is not in proportion to their income or financial status, if they maintain a high standard of life and donates more than one&rsquo;s capacity. If the accused fail to show the source of income then the money will be considered as money laundering.</p>

<p>The defendant Bhagat had claimed that the money he had belonged to Indian nationals but failed to establish his claims. Police had confiscated Rs 1.8 million from the accused.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A statement jointly issued by the organizers reads, &ldquo;The experiences from Nordic countries, both on the role of the private sector and the government policies, can provide lessons and energize a green transaction with renewable energy for future of Nepal.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Speaking at the seminar, Khadga Bahadur Bisht, who is the head of Stakeholder Management and Business Development, said that Nepal is picking up pace on the use of renewable energy.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has also put its full effort now to make electricity accessible to every household. The effort of NEA to end load shedding should be praised,&rdquo; he said, adding that the dream of Nepal to produce 10,000 MW electricity will not be possible without the help and support from every stakeholder.</p>

<p>Likewise, Sheelagh O Reilly, monitoring, evaluation and learning principal consultant for IOD PARC said that Nepal needs to focus on testing of the&nbsp; equipment that are imported from other countries.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The testing of equipment will ensure that the plants which generate renewable energy will be long lasting, which will be handy to save money for people and the whole country,&rdquo; she said.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The relationship between the government, private sector and citizens of Nepal, as well as with neighboring countries, will play an ever-increasing role in Nepal&rsquo;s own journey towards sustainable, renewable and inclusive foreign trade,&rdquo; the statement added.</p>

<p>Neupane had sent Rs 27,500 and was selected as the winner for the bumper prize of Rs 1 million amidst a function&nbsp; held at IME head office. The lucky draws were conducted by IME&rsquo;s brand ambassador Deepak Raj Giri.</p>

<p>Selection of the winners was done through software-based lucky draws conducted from the pool of transaction IDs and customer information appearing in IME system.</p>

<p>IME customers who send money to their relatives in Nepal and customers who send money within Nepal will get a chance to win Rs 100 for 60 customers daily and Rs 600,000 worth of life insurance policy every fifteen days. The insurance policy will be opened in the name of the nominee of the winner chosen through lucky draw in case the winner is an international sender. As the bumper prize, IME said it will conduct lucky draw every 6<sup>th</sup> week and the winner will be awarded Rs 1 million in cash.&nbsp;</p>

The verdict was issued by the full bench of the apex court about a year ago but the full text was published in Nepal&rsquo;s law journal on Tuesday.</p>

<p>Earlier, a joint bench of SC justices had issued a verdict that only the monies proven to have been earned through illegal means would be considered money laundering. However, the full bench of justices overturned the verdict and ruled that any money lacking source of income would be considered money laundering.</p>

<p>On July 10, 2013, the joint bench of SC justices had set a precedent saying that the money held by Sunil Jaiswal and others cannot be considered money laundering unless it was proven that the money was earned through illegal means.</p>

<p>However, the full bench of justices Jagdish Sharma Poudel, Meera Khadka and Dr Anand Mohan Bhattarai overturned the precedent and ruled that the money held Madhav Kumar Bhagat and Ashok Kumar Kar accounted to money laundering as they were unable to show the source of income.</p>

<p>Section 28 of the Money Laundering Act, 2064 states that the accused must show the source of income if their property is not in proportion to their income or financial status, if they maintain a high standard of life and donates more than one&rsquo;s capacity. If the accused fail to show the source of income then the money will be considered as money laundering.</p>

<p>The defendant Bhagat had claimed that the money he had belonged to Indian nationals but failed to establish his claims. Police had confiscated Rs 1.8 million from the accused.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The District Postal Office informed that it has been providing services at a subsidised rate to the locals. Sharma informed that there are plans to convert other postal offices into tele-centers as well.</p>

<p>The district has one District Postal Office, 11 Area Postal Offices and 43 Additional Postal Offices.</p>

<p>Sharma said that the locals have not yet stopped using postal service though.&nbsp;</p>
