Om Sharma, chief of the Gautam Buddha International Airport Project informed the Public Account Committee of the Parliament (PAC) on Monday that 80 percent works will be completed in eight months. “About 35 to 36 percent of physical infrastructure of the airport has been completed so far,” Sharma said.</p> <p>Addressing the meeting, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jitendra Narayan Dev said that although the construction of the airport is not satisfactory, the work is headed in the right direction of late.</p> <p>Of the total Rs 6.22 billion budget for the project, Rs 1.43 billion has been paid to the contractor as advance. As per the decision of its management committee, NAC had emailed the company on September 20 about selling the aircraft to it.</p> <p>NAC spokesperson Rabindra Shrestha had informed the American company that the Nepali’s flag carrier has accepted their proposal, through phone calls and emails. As per the decision of its management committee, NAC had emailed the company on September 20 about selling the aircraft to it.</p> <p>NAC spokesperson Rabindra Shrestha had informed the American company that the Nepali’s flag carrier has accepted their proposal, through phone calls and emails. The date for the officials of the American company to visit Nepal was scheduled as per the email correspondence.</p> <p>MD Kansakar was also informed about the series of talks happening between NAC and the American company.</p> <p>Although the officials of Avian System Inc are scheduled to arrive Nepal on October 14 for the deal, NAC on Thursday broke its promise and announced to sell the aircraft to BB Airways. The Annapurna Century Tourism Committee is planning to organise the festival in three phases.</p> <p>The festival was inaugurated by Rabindra Adhikari, chairman of the Parliamentary Development Committee. Adhikari said that tourists are attracted to the Himalayas and the festival organised in the area will contribute to the development of Nepal’s tourism.</p> <p>In the first phase of the festival, a statue of Maurice Herzog, a French mountaineer who climbed Annapurna for the first time, was laid at the Annapurna Base Camp.</p> <p>The festival is being organised in association with Annapurna Rural Municipality, Chomrong Tourism Management Sub-Committee and different local organizations. A team had reached Annapurna Base Camp to participate in the festival upon three days’ trekking. The team will return to Pokhara on October 14.</p> <p>Lalit Gurung, coordinator of the festival’s organizing committee, said that the festival features different cultural programs in the first phase. “Different programs will be conducted in Chomrong, a tourist destination, during December 25 to 30, 2017 in the second phase of the festival,” he added. </p> <p>The third phase of the festival will be organised in Ghandruk from June 1 to 3, 2018 where the program will be officially wrapped.</p> <p>Annapurna is considered one of the best trekking trails in the world. As per the decision of its management committee, NAC had emailed the company on September 20 about selling the aircraft to it.</p> <p>NAC spokesperson Rabindra Shrestha had informed the American company that the Nepali’s flag carrier has accepted their proposal, through phone calls and emails.
