<p>The process to build dry port at Korala was initiated about a decade ago in 2007 but the plan gathered dust due to political upheaval and prolonged transition period.</p>
<p>The customs office has acquired 109 ropanis of land for the dry port, informed Basnet.</p>
<p>The customs office building, storage house and hot room for staff have already been built, according Mustang district’s customs chief Shukra Darshan Dhungana.</p>
<p>The construction of 435-kilometer road from Gaidakot to Korala along the Kaligandaki Corridor is being expedited and the work is expected to finish within three years, according to the Kaligandai Corridor Project. Currently, border out posts of Armed Police Force are being set up around Korala while Nepal Army has been setting up barracks in Upper Mustang, informed Basnet.</p>
