She says that due to geographical difficulties, quality internet access is yet to be extended to all areas.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">Aryal said, "Using mobile devices only for calling and using social media is not considered digital literacy. Since women have changed in the way they work, literacy should be increased to help facilitate business." She said that if digitization is done, the workload will be reduced to save time. She said, "It is difficult to do any work now without the Internet. Digitalization equally creates opportunities and now the market has also expanded." Mosquitos lay eggs in ditches and containers filled with water. Although the World Health Organization (WHO) has urged for minimum use of strong antimicrobials, its use is on the rise in Nepal. “Its use is excessive here,” Dr Banjara said. </span><br /> <span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS","sans-serif"">There is rampant misuse of antimicrobials in Nepal. Even the doctors are not prescribing it accurately, while people buy these without doctors' prescription. Dr Banjara further said even the doctors were prescribing antimicrobials without testing whether it functions or not. </span><br /> <span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS","sans-serif"">"The use of infection treating medicine is so common and excessive that they are no more effective," Dr Banjara said, adding that no new antimicrobials have been invented for 36 years. Such medicine must be used only as per the need not more than needed. </span><br /> <span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS","sans-serif"">According to the study, 28 percent people buy antimicrobials on their own- without doctors' prescription. These medicines include antibiotics, antifungals, antivirals, and antiparasites. </span><br /> <span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS","sans-serif"">Overall, 180 antimicrobials have been divided into three groups. Although the World Health Organization (WHO) has urged for minimum use of strong antimicrobials, its use is on the rise in Nepal. “Its use is excessive here,” Dr Banjara said. </span><br /> <span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS","sans-serif"">There is rampant misuse of antimicrobials in Nepal. Even the doctors are not prescribing it accurately, while people buy these without doctors' prescription. Dr Banjara further said even the doctors were prescribing antimicrobials without testing whether it functions or not. </span><br /> <span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS","sans-serif"">"The use of infection treating medicine is so common and excessive that they are no more effective," Dr Banjara said, adding that no new antimicrobials have been invented for 36 years. Such medicine must be used only as per the need not more than needed. </span><br /> <span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS","sans-serif"">According to the study, 28 percent people buy antimicrobials on their own- without doctors' prescription. Mosquitos lay eggs in ditches and containers filled with water. So, tidiness is essential," said Dr Gokarna Dahal.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px"><span style="font-family:Calibri,"sans-serif"">Avoiding mosquito bites is the best option to remain safe from the infection, the Ministry of Health and Population said in a notice issued earlier. The ministry has urged the people to wear clothes that cover all body parts, use mosquito nets and repellent, and destroy mosquito breeding areas to avoid mosquito bites. </span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px"><span style="font-family:Calibri,"sans-serif"">Meanwhile, Dr Dahal said that since the beginning of 2023, a total of 1,024 people are found infected with dengue. Although the World Health Organization (WHO) has urged for minimum use of strong antimicrobials, its use is on the rise in Nepal. “Its use is excessive here,” Dr Banjara said. </span><br /> <span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS","sans-serif"">There is rampant misuse of antimicrobials in Nepal. Even the doctors are not prescribing it accurately, while people buy these without doctors' prescription. Dr Banjara further said even the doctors were prescribing antimicrobials without testing whether it functions or not. </span><br /> <span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS","sans-serif"">"The use of infection treating medicine is so common and excessive that they are no more effective," Dr Banjara said, adding that no new antimicrobials have been invented for 36 years. Such medicine must be used only as per the need not more than needed. </span><br /> <span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS","sans-serif"">According to the study, 28 percent people buy antimicrobials on their own- without doctors' prescription.
