<p style="text-align:justify">According to the STC, it is bearing the huge loss as salt is being sold at a lower price than its imported price. &quot;As the loss is increasing yearly, STC has proposed for raising the salt price by Rs 7 per packet (one kg),&quot; said Surya Prasad Shrestha, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Supplies.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">If the government approves the proposed price, the salt will cost Rs 25 per packet in the domestic market. It costs Rs. 18 in the market now.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">According to the STC, the per-packet of salt costs Rs 21 at present while importing from India. However, the STC sells the salt at Rs 16.50 per packet to dealers resulting in a loss of Rs 5 per packet.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&quot;Even though salt comes with an increased price from India, the government does not approve raise in salt price which has caused huge loss to STC,&quot; said Kumar Rajbhandari, General Manager of the Salt Trading Ltd. &quot;We proposed an increase in price of &#39;Aayo Nun&#39;( iodized&nbsp; salt) three years back, but the government kept mum about the matter.&quot;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">STC has clarified that if the government provides a grant equivalent to the loss of Rs 350 million, the proposed raise in salt price will be withdrawn. According to a source, STC will make a profit of Rs 1.50 if it increases the price at the moment. However, the corporation might close down due to accumulated loss if the price remains the same.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">In order to raise the salt price, Central Monitoring Committee under the Chairmanship of Joint Secretary of the Supply Ministry has to take a decision. According to Rajbhandari, a team of the Ministry is analyzing the issue. The STC transacts salt amounting to Rs. 2 billion annually.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Ministry Spokesperson Shrestha says that a serious study is needed before rising rice as salt is an essential commodity.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">At the anniversary programme organised on February 4, Minister for Information and Communications Surendra Karki suggested that NT should take necessary strategy so that the customers can use more and more data and calls.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Digambar Jha, chairman of the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) at the programme said that it was a matter of pride that being a government company, NT has arrived in the present stage through competition.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to him, the challenges in the upcoming days will be that the company has to move ahead in the market by introducing new technology by maintaining its quality. &ldquo;There is no situation to stay satisfied by looking at the income of the previous year,&rdquo; he said, adding, &ldquo;The market of the company is decreasing and the company should be alert on it.&rdquo;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As an alternative for the government-owned companies which need to compete commercially, the government has made arrangement for &nbsp;a system to make our own procurement regulations on as an alternative to the &nbsp;public procurement Act in government offices. Jha suggested that NT that the company take benefit from this kind of regulation and move ahead for a strong competition.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NT is providing fix-line, mobile, VSAT, internet and other value added services. Likewise, the company has also recently started 4G service for the first time in the country.</p>

			<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;On the occasion of the 13<sup>th</sup> anniversary, Nepal Telecom has provided discount on different services. For the &nbsp;new GSM pre-paid customers, the company is providing 400 Mb data for four days with 100 Mb per day. &nbsp;Similarly, for GSM network customers, the company has provided 100 Mb Facebook data package on Rs 20 &nbsp;valid for five days.</p>

			<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;Likewise, NT will provide GSM night data package at Rs 40 on 500 Mb for seven days and 1200 Mb data on &nbsp;Rs 85 valid for 15 days. In the same way under GSM data offer, the company has provided 200 Mb data for &nbsp;seven days at Rs 130 and on 500 Mb data package for 15 days at Rs 300 and the company is providing &nbsp;same data package as bonus offer. Meanwhile, under CDMA data offer, NT is providing 200 Mb at Rs 75 &nbsp;valid for seven days and 500 Mb data at Rs 175 for 15 days.&nbsp;</p>

			<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;The company has re-started CRBT service and has provided free service for 15 days with one song per day. &nbsp;In the same way, on NTPro service, the company is giving 50 percent discount on incoming call keeping the &nbsp;rate at Rs three per minute from February 4.</p>

			<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;Also, the company is providing 10 percent bonus on the recharge of Rs 50, Rs. &nbsp;100 and Rs. 200 and 15 &nbsp;percent bonus on Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 from February 5.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NT is implementing new rate on few services valid from February 12 under which unlimited ADSL package will be available with additional bandwidth on existing monthly rate.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The additional bandwidth will be made available 256 Kbps for at Rs 900 instead of 192 Kbps, 512 Kbps at Rs 1,500 instead of 384 Kbps and 768 Kbps for Rs 2,700 instead of available 512.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Also, the monthly port charge of internet and intranet lease service has been decreased from Rs 500 to Rs 100, copper lease access charge has been decreased to Rs 200 from Rs 500 and optical lease access charge has been decreased to Rs 300 from Rs 1,000.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Besides this, 25 free calls are provided in landline service from February 12 to March 13.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">In a due process, the government will restructure Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), encourage good governance in NEPSE and listed companies and improve legal and regulatory structure for CDS and clearing. The government, citing lack of good governance and management in NEPSE and ineffective supervision of SEBON on NEPSE and CDS due to their capital structure, has formulated the policies. It is directed toward minimising or extracting government ownership in NEPSE and CDS.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the government is rolling out the strategy of expanding securities traders&#39; service sector, encourage participations of general people and improve regulatory and supervisory practices of capital market. The ministry said that the Nepali capital market is still trapped in its initial phase.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">After the implementation of the policy, daily transaction amount of securities market is expected to reach Rs 2 billion. Similarly, investors with D-mat account will be increased to 500,000. Moreover, participations from all sectors of the economy in the capital market will be mechanised.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

The central bank is investing the funds accumulated in its various trusts as fixed deposits (FD) in the aforementioned banks and financial institutions (BFIs) from February 12 2017 to February 12 2018.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The central bank is investing Rs 1.26 billion as FD in &#39;A&#39; listed commercial bank. Similarly, the bank is investing Rs 236.9 million and Rs 78.9 million as FD in &#39;B&#39; listed and &#39;C&#39; listed BFIs. The bank has applied 11 conditions to invest the fund in the listed BFIs.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The NRB has issued a notice in which the interested BFIs are asked to submitted a duly sealed price quotation form with the specified amount the BFIs willing to take as FD by February 5 1500 hours. The BFIs willing to take the FD must have come into operation for two years and should have minimum capital fund. The BFIs must fulfil the categories including the non-performing loan should be less than 5 per cent of total loan extension, net liquid assets should meet 20 per cent or more of the total domestic deposits will be eligible. According to NRB, the BFIs must have maintained the loan, domestic deposit and primary capital proportion as per the timely set standard by the central bank.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the BFIs earning operating profit in last FY and having real estate investment not exceeding NRB set limit can also participate in the FD plan. However, BFIs leaded by Directors, CEO or Executive Directors against whom NRB has taken action will not get an opportunity to participate.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, BFIs completing minimum of 6 months from the Prompt Corrective Action taken by NRB can also apply for the deposit. NRB has also set a condition where the BFIs must have issued the shares allocated to general public.<br />
Likewise, the BFIs which are not announced problematic or completed 6 months since announced problem free are also allowed to apply for the fixed deposit of NRB.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Khimti-Dhalkebar line is the first transmission line of the country with the largest capacity of 220 KV so far. Before this, there were only 11 KV, 33 KV and 132 KV transmission lines. &nbsp;The construction of the Khimti-Dhalkebar 220KV double circuit transmission line was started 17 years ago and is 74 kilometers long.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Energy Minister Janardan Sharma informed that through Khimti-Dhalkebar transmission line, the electricity generated from different hydropower projects of the country can be transmitted in an integrated manner. &ldquo;All national pride hydropower projects from now onwards will be constructed with the investment of the people of the concerned provinces,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Kulman Ghising, Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), informed that the project was completed with an investment of Rs 213.2 million.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">According to the STC, it is bearing the huge loss as salt is being sold at a lower price than its imported price. &quot;As the loss is increasing yearly, STC has proposed for raising the salt price by Rs 7 per packet (one kg),&quot; said Surya Prasad Shrestha, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Supplies.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">If the government approves the proposed price, the salt will cost Rs 25 per packet in the domestic market. It costs Rs. 18 in the market now.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">According to the STC, the per-packet of salt costs Rs 21 at present while importing from India. However, the STC sells the salt at Rs 16.50 per packet to dealers resulting in a loss of Rs 5 per packet.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&quot;Even though salt comes with an increased price from India, the government does not approve raise in salt price which has caused huge loss to STC,&quot; said Kumar Rajbhandari, General Manager of the Salt Trading Ltd. &quot;We proposed an increase in price of &#39;Aayo Nun&#39;( iodized&nbsp; salt) three years back, but the government kept mum about the matter.&quot;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">STC has clarified that if the government provides a grant equivalent to the loss of Rs 350 million, the proposed raise in salt price will be withdrawn. According to a source, STC will make a profit of Rs 1.50 if it increases the price at the moment. However, the corporation might close down due to accumulated loss if the price remains the same.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">In order to raise the salt price, Central Monitoring Committee under the Chairmanship of Joint Secretary of the Supply Ministry has to take a decision. According to Rajbhandari, a team of the Ministry is analyzing the issue. The STC transacts salt amounting to Rs. 2 billion annually.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Ministry Spokesperson Shrestha says that a serious study is needed before rising rice as salt is an essential commodity.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As an alternative for the government-owned companies which need to compete commercially, the government has made arrangement for &nbsp;a system to make our own procurement regulations on as an alternative to the &nbsp;public procurement Act in government offices. Jha suggested that NT that the company take benefit from this kind of regulation and move ahead for a strong competition.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NT is providing fix-line, mobile, VSAT, internet and other value added services. Likewise, the company has also recently started 4G service for the first time in the country.</p>

In the same way under GSM data offer, the company has provided 200 Mb data for &nbsp;seven days at Rs 130 and on 500 Mb data package for 15 days at Rs 300 and the company is providing &nbsp;same data package as bonus offer. <p>Likewise, Anand Bagaria spoke about the importance of incubation hubs which create an environment where entrepreneurship ideas are brought into the business world.</p>

<p>&quot;The core idea for a business startup can come both ways. We generally think it comes from the entrepreneur and then get supported by investors. However, many a times, it also comes from investors and picked up by the young entrepreneurial talents,&quot; he added.</p>

<p>Prashant Singh, Founder of HCI, while opening the event said, &quot;The biggest social imperative of the day in Nepal is to create a large number of employment opportunities for the country&#39;s youth that are leaving us for abroad. It is possible only through creating an enabling atmosphere for setting up businesses that create most employments.&quot;</p>

The government, citing lack of good governance and management in NEPSE and ineffective supervision of SEBON on NEPSE and CDS due to their capital structure, has formulated the policies. It is directed toward minimising or extracting government ownership in NEPSE and CDS.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the government is rolling out the strategy of expanding securities traders&#39; service sector, encourage participations of general people and improve regulatory and supervisory practices of capital market. The ministry said that the Nepali capital market is still trapped in its initial phase.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">After the implementation of the policy, daily transaction amount of securities market is expected to reach Rs 2 billion. Similarly, investors with D-mat account will be increased to 500,000. Moreover, participations from all sectors of the economy in the capital market will be mechanised.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The central bank is investing Rs 1.26 billion as FD in &#39;A&#39; listed commercial bank. Similarly, the bank is investing Rs 236.9 million and Rs 78.9 million as FD in &#39;B&#39; listed and &#39;C&#39; listed BFIs. The bank has applied 11 conditions to invest the fund in the listed BFIs.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The NRB has issued a notice in which the interested BFIs are asked to submitted a duly sealed price quotation form with the specified amount the BFIs willing to take as FD by February 5 1500 hours. The BFIs willing to take the FD must have come into operation for two years and should have minimum capital fund. The BFIs must fulfil the categories including the non-performing loan should be less than 5 per cent of total loan extension, net liquid assets should meet 20 per cent or more of the total domestic deposits will be eligible. According to NRB, the BFIs must have maintained the loan, domestic deposit and primary capital proportion as per the timely set standard by the central bank.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the BFIs earning operating profit in last FY and having real estate investment not exceeding NRB set limit can also participate in the FD plan. However, BFIs leaded by Directors, CEO or Executive Directors against whom NRB has taken action will not get an opportunity to participate.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, BFIs completing minimum of 6 months from the Prompt Corrective Action taken by NRB can also apply for the deposit. NRB has also set a condition where the BFIs must have issued the shares allocated to general public.<br />
Likewise, the BFIs which are not announced problematic or completed 6 months since announced problem free are also allowed to apply for the fixed deposit of NRB.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Khimti-Dhalkebar line is the first transmission line of the country with the largest capacity of 220 KV so far. Before this, there were only 11 KV, 33 KV and 132 KV transmission lines. &nbsp;The construction of the Khimti-Dhalkebar 220KV double circuit transmission line was started 17 years ago and is 74 kilometers long.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Energy Minister Janardan Sharma informed that through Khimti-Dhalkebar transmission line, the electricity generated from different hydropower projects of the country can be transmitted in an integrated manner. &ldquo;All national pride hydropower projects from now onwards will be constructed with the investment of the people of the concerned provinces,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">According to the STC, it is bearing the huge loss as salt is being sold at a lower price than its imported price. &quot;As the loss is increasing yearly, STC has proposed for raising the salt price by Rs 7 per packet (one kg),&quot; said Surya Prasad Shrestha, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Supplies.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">If the government approves the proposed price, the salt will cost Rs 25 per packet in the domestic market. It costs Rs. 18 in the market now.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">According to the STC, the per-packet of salt costs Rs 21 at present while importing from India. However, the STC sells the salt at Rs 16.50 per packet to dealers resulting in a loss of Rs 5 per packet.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&quot;Even though salt comes with an increased price from India, the government does not approve raise in salt price which has caused huge loss to STC,&quot; said Kumar Rajbhandari, General Manager of the Salt Trading Ltd. &quot;We proposed an increase in price of &#39;Aayo Nun&#39;( iodized&nbsp; salt) three years back, but the government kept mum about the matter.&quot;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">STC has clarified that if the government provides a grant equivalent to the loss of Rs 350 million, the proposed raise in salt price will be withdrawn. According to a source, STC will make a profit of Rs 1.50 if it increases the price at the moment. However, the corporation might close down due to accumulated loss if the price remains the same.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">In order to raise the salt price, Central Monitoring Committee under the Chairmanship of Joint Secretary of the Supply Ministry has to take a decision. According to Rajbhandari, a team of the Ministry is analyzing the issue. The STC transacts salt amounting to Rs. 2 billion annually.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Ministry Spokesperson Shrestha says that a serious study is needed before rising rice as salt is an essential commodity.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">At the anniversary programme organised on February 4, Minister for Information and Communications Surendra Karki suggested that NT should take necessary strategy so that the customers can use more and more data and calls.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Digambar Jha, chairman of the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) at the programme said that it was a matter of pride that being a government company, NT has arrived in the present stage through competition.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to him, the challenges in the upcoming days will be that the company has to move ahead in the market by introducing new technology by maintaining its quality. &ldquo;There is no situation to stay satisfied by looking at the income of the previous year,&rdquo; he said, adding, &ldquo;The market of the company is decreasing and the company should be alert on it.&rdquo;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As an alternative for the government-owned companies which need to compete commercially, the government has made arrangement for &nbsp;a system to make our own procurement regulations on as an alternative to the &nbsp;public procurement Act in government offices. Jha suggested that NT that the company take benefit from this kind of regulation and move ahead for a strong competition.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NT is providing fix-line, mobile, VSAT, internet and other value added services. Likewise, the company has also recently started 4G service for the first time in the country.</p>

			<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;On the occasion of the 13<sup>th</sup> anniversary, Nepal Telecom has provided discount on different services. For the &nbsp;new GSM pre-paid customers, the company is providing 400 Mb data for four days with 100 Mb per day. &nbsp;Similarly, for GSM network customers, the company has provided 100 Mb Facebook data package on Rs 20 &nbsp;valid for five days.</p>

			<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;Likewise, NT will provide GSM night data package at Rs 40 on 500 Mb for seven days and 1200 Mb data on &nbsp;Rs 85 valid for 15 days. In the same way under GSM data offer, the company has provided 200 Mb data for &nbsp;seven days at Rs 130 and on 500 Mb data package for 15 days at Rs 300 and the company is providing &nbsp;same data package as bonus offer. Meanwhile, under CDMA data offer, NT is providing 200 Mb at Rs 75 &nbsp;valid for seven days and 500 Mb data at Rs 175 for 15 days.&nbsp;</p>

			<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;The company has re-started CRBT service and has provided free service for 15 days with one song per day. &nbsp;In the same way, on NTPro service, the company is giving 50 percent discount on incoming call keeping the &nbsp;rate at Rs three per minute from February 4.</p>

			<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;Also, the company is providing 10 percent bonus on the recharge of Rs 50, Rs. &nbsp;100 and Rs. 200 and 15 &nbsp;percent bonus on Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 from February 5.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NT is implementing new rate on few services valid from February 12 under which unlimited ADSL package will be available with additional bandwidth on existing monthly rate.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The additional bandwidth will be made available 256 Kbps for at Rs 900 instead of 192 Kbps, 512 Kbps at Rs 1,500 instead of 384 Kbps and 768 Kbps for Rs 2,700 instead of available 512.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Also, the monthly port charge of internet and intranet lease service has been decreased from Rs 500 to Rs 100, copper lease access charge has been decreased to Rs 200 from Rs 500 and optical lease access charge has been decreased to Rs 300 from Rs 1,000.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Besides this, 25 free calls are provided in landline service from February 12 to March 13.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">In a due process, the government will restructure Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), encourage good governance in NEPSE and listed companies and improve legal and regulatory structure for CDS and clearing. The government, citing lack of good governance and management in NEPSE and ineffective supervision of SEBON on NEPSE and CDS due to their capital structure, has formulated the policies. It is directed toward minimising or extracting government ownership in NEPSE and CDS.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the government is rolling out the strategy of expanding securities traders&#39; service sector, encourage participations of general people and improve regulatory and supervisory practices of capital market. The ministry said that the Nepali capital market is still trapped in its initial phase.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">After the implementation of the policy, daily transaction amount of securities market is expected to reach Rs 2 billion. Similarly, investors with D-mat account will be increased to 500,000. Moreover, participations from all sectors of the economy in the capital market will be mechanised.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

The central bank is investing the funds accumulated in its various trusts as fixed deposits (FD) in the aforementioned banks and financial institutions (BFIs) from February 12 2017 to February 12 2018.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The central bank is investing Rs 1.26 billion as FD in &#39;A&#39; listed commercial bank. Similarly, the bank is investing Rs 236.9 million and Rs 78.9 million as FD in &#39;B&#39; listed and &#39;C&#39; listed BFIs. The bank has applied 11 conditions to invest the fund in the listed BFIs.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The NRB has issued a notice in which the interested BFIs are asked to submitted a duly sealed price quotation form with the specified amount the BFIs willing to take as FD by February 5 1500 hours. The BFIs willing to take the FD must have come into operation for two years and should have minimum capital fund. The BFIs must fulfil the categories including the non-performing loan should be less than 5 per cent of total loan extension, net liquid assets should meet 20 per cent or more of the total domestic deposits will be eligible. According to NRB, the BFIs must have maintained the loan, domestic deposit and primary capital proportion as per the timely set standard by the central bank.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the BFIs earning operating profit in last FY and having real estate investment not exceeding NRB set limit can also participate in the FD plan. However, BFIs leaded by Directors, CEO or Executive Directors against whom NRB has taken action will not get an opportunity to participate.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, BFIs completing minimum of 6 months from the Prompt Corrective Action taken by NRB can also apply for the deposit. NRB has also set a condition where the BFIs must have issued the shares allocated to general public.<br />
Likewise, the BFIs which are not announced problematic or completed 6 months since announced problem free are also allowed to apply for the fixed deposit of NRB.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Inaugurating the 220 KV Khimti-Dhalkebar transmission line on February 2, Prime Minister Dahal said that vested interests have obstructed the pace of construction of the development projects.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Khimti-Dhalkebar line is the first transmission line of the country with the largest capacity of 220 KV so far. Before this, there were only 11 KV, 33 KV and 132 KV transmission lines. &nbsp;The construction of the Khimti-Dhalkebar 220KV double circuit transmission line was started 17 years ago and is 74 kilometers long.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Energy Minister Janardan Sharma informed that through Khimti-Dhalkebar transmission line, the electricity generated from different hydropower projects of the country can be transmitted in an integrated manner. &ldquo;All national pride hydropower projects from now onwards will be constructed with the investment of the people of the concerned provinces,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Kulman Ghising, Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), informed that the project was completed with an investment of Rs 213.2 million.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">According to the STC, it is bearing the huge loss as salt is being sold at a lower price than its imported price. &quot;As the loss is increasing yearly, STC has proposed for raising the salt price by Rs 7 per packet (one kg),&quot; said Surya Prasad Shrestha, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Supplies.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">If the government approves the proposed price, the salt will cost Rs 25 per packet in the domestic market. It costs Rs. 18 in the market now.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">According to the STC, the per-packet of salt costs Rs 21 at present while importing from India. However, the STC sells the salt at Rs 16.50 per packet to dealers resulting in a loss of Rs 5 per packet.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&quot;Even though salt comes with an increased price from India, the government does not approve raise in salt price which has caused huge loss to STC,&quot; said Kumar Rajbhandari, General Manager of the Salt Trading Ltd. &quot;We proposed an increase in price of &#39;Aayo Nun&#39;( iodized&nbsp; salt) three years back, but the government kept mum about the matter.&quot;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">STC has clarified that if the government provides a grant equivalent to the loss of Rs 350 million, the proposed raise in salt price will be withdrawn. According to a source, STC will make a profit of Rs 1.50 if it increases the price at the moment. However, the corporation might close down due to accumulated loss if the price remains the same.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">In order to raise the salt price, Central Monitoring Committee under the Chairmanship of Joint Secretary of the Supply Ministry has to take a decision. According to Rajbhandari, a team of the Ministry is analyzing the issue. The STC transacts salt amounting to Rs. 2 billion annually.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Ministry Spokesperson Shrestha says that a serious study is needed before rising rice as salt is an essential commodity.</p>

For the &nbsp;new GSM pre-paid customers, the company is providing 400 Mb data for four days with 100 Mb per day. &nbsp;Similarly, for GSM network customers, the company has provided 100 Mb Facebook data package on Rs 20 &nbsp;valid for five days.</p>

			<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;Likewise, NT will provide GSM night data package at Rs 40 on 500 Mb for seven days and 1200 Mb data on &nbsp;Rs 85 valid for 15 days. In the same way under GSM data offer, the company has provided 200 Mb data for &nbsp;seven days at Rs 130 and on 500 Mb data package for 15 days at Rs 300 and the company is providing &nbsp;same data package as bonus offer. Meanwhile, under CDMA data offer, NT is providing 200 Mb at Rs 75 &nbsp;valid for seven days and 500 Mb data at Rs 175 for 15 days.&nbsp;</p>

			<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;The company has re-started CRBT service and has provided free service for 15 days with one song per day. &nbsp;In the same way, on NTPro service, the company is giving 50 percent discount on incoming call keeping the &nbsp;rate at Rs three per minute from February 4.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NT is implementing new rate on few services valid from February 12 under which unlimited ADSL package will be available with additional bandwidth on existing monthly rate.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The additional bandwidth will be made available 256 Kbps for at Rs 900 instead of 192 Kbps, 512 Kbps at Rs 1,500 instead of 384 Kbps and 768 Kbps for Rs 2,700 instead of available 512.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Also, the monthly port charge of internet and intranet lease service has been decreased from Rs 500 to Rs 100, copper lease access charge has been decreased to Rs 200 from Rs 500 and optical lease access charge has been decreased to Rs 300 from Rs 1,000.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Besides this, 25 free calls are provided in landline service from February 12 to March 13.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the government is rolling out the strategy of expanding securities traders&#39; service sector, encourage participations of general people and improve regulatory and supervisory practices of capital market. The ministry said that the Nepali capital market is still trapped in its initial phase.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">After the implementation of the policy, daily transaction amount of securities market is expected to reach Rs 2 billion. Similarly, the bank is investing Rs 236.9 million and Rs 78.9 million as FD in &#39;B&#39; listed and &#39;C&#39; listed BFIs. The bank has applied 11 conditions to invest the fund in the listed BFIs.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The NRB has issued a notice in which the interested BFIs are asked to submitted a duly sealed price quotation form with the specified amount the BFIs willing to take as FD by February 5 1500 hours. The BFIs willing to take the FD must have come into operation for two years and should have minimum capital fund. The BFIs must fulfil the categories including the non-performing loan should be less than 5 per cent of total loan extension, net liquid assets should meet 20 per cent or more of the total domestic deposits will be eligible. According to NRB, the BFIs must have maintained the loan, domestic deposit and primary capital proportion as per the timely set standard by the central bank.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the BFIs earning operating profit in last FY and having real estate investment not exceeding NRB set limit can also participate in the FD plan. However, BFIs leaded by Directors, CEO or Executive Directors against whom NRB has taken action will not get an opportunity to participate.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, BFIs completing minimum of 6 months from the Prompt Corrective Action taken by NRB can also apply for the deposit. NRB has also set a condition where the BFIs must have issued the shares allocated to general public.<br />
Likewise, the BFIs which are not announced problematic or completed 6 months since announced problem free are also allowed to apply for the fixed deposit of NRB.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Khimti-Dhalkebar line is the first transmission line of the country with the largest capacity of 220 KV so far. Before this, there were only 11 KV, 33 KV and 132 KV transmission lines. &nbsp;The construction of the Khimti-Dhalkebar 220KV double circuit transmission line was started 17 years ago and is 74 kilometers long.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Energy Minister Janardan Sharma informed that through Khimti-Dhalkebar transmission line, the electricity generated from different hydropower projects of the country can be transmitted in an integrated manner. &ldquo;All national pride hydropower projects from now onwards will be constructed with the investment of the people of the concerned provinces,&rdquo; he added.</p>
