<p style="text-align: justify;">Due to the sluggish works of the Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA), the service provider has not yet been fixed as six months have already passed after asking for the applications.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">For the installation of optical fiber for the first time in those places, the Authority had asked for applications from service providers on September 29, 2016. Though the application was to be filed till November 11, NTA extended the deadline to January 10, 2017 and received applications till the date. On that time period, two telecommunications service providers and one internet service providers proposed for auction bidding.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">A committee was formed with different department officials from the Authority for the analysis of the received applications. The six members under the coordination of Purushottam Khanal, Director of NTA submitted the analysis report a week before to Digambar Jha, Chairman of NTA.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">On the basis of recommendations made by the committee, the Authority can select one particular company for letter of intent (LOI) or can cancel it. Jha said that he has not studied the report till date, however, the decision will be made by April 6.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to the application filed by the service providers at NTA, Ncell, WorldLink and UTL have expressed their interests to invest Rs 2.71 billion, Rs 2.50 billion and Rs 2.01 billion respectively.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Meanwhile, NTA has made it clear that the project will be given to a company which can conclude the project at reasonable cost and which is technically capable. The selected company will get auctioned bid amount as grant from the Rural Telecommunication Development Fund (RTDF).</p>

<p>Pashupati Murarka, President of FNCCI and guest at the Expo stressed that there should be establishment of cold stores for the export of flower-related products.</p>

<p>Likewise, Murarka said that the government should provide government land to entrepreneurs to grow flowers.</p>

<p>Dr. Suroj Pokharel, Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture Development informed that the budget provided to FAN will not be decreased but will be distributed on provincial basis.</p>

<p>&nbsp;The Expo has put on display and sale seasonal flowers, decorative plants, cut flowers, dry flowers, orchids, seeds, fertilizers and equipments, among others.</p>

<p>According to the organisers, several flower farms participating in the Expo were honored in various categories.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;The establishment of GPZ in Simara expected to complete in two years as stated in the current fiscal year is being delayed by two years than the stipulated time. The expected cost of the project declared to be completed within two years was Rs. 2.2 billion.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Expected to complete the construction work within 2017/18, the project could not get completed on time due to sluggish pace of work of the government. Constructed in 135 bighas of land at Simara Special Economic Zone (SEZ), the infrastructure construction of the project is assumed to cost Rs 2.20 billion. The budget was approved by the Ministry of Finance (MoF) only two months ago.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The government has already released Rs 500 million for the infrastructure construction of GPZ in the current fiscal year. MoF agreed to provide the necessary amount in the context of the amount being insufficient to finish the project on time.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to the project, the work of GPZ will be moved ahead in different four packages. According to Arjun Pandey, Project Chief and Engineer of SEZ Development Committee, they are preparing for calling a tender in four packages to finish the project within three years from now.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Stating that preparation for different tenders for four packages is being made, Pandey informed that the tender for the first package will be invited within April 13.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Estimated to cost Rs one billion, the first package will finish the works including road, land development, drainage construction and drinking water, whereas in the second package, electricity, sewerage purification center will be constructed with an estimated expenditure of Rs 570 million.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the third package includes construction of different buildings for which Rs 350 million has been estimated, whereas construction of helipad, health club, guest house fall under fourth package and Rs 290 is estimated for its construction.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Pandey informed that the tender process for the remaining two packages will also be moved ahead within the current fiscal year ending in mid-July.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The CCD ratio of BFIs had exceeded the limitation of 80 percent set by NRB due to the lack of lendable fund as per the demand of market. This led to unhealthy competition in the market. Due to this, Nepal Banker&#39;s Association (NBA) mediated with the banks not to pay interest more than 12 per cent to the deposits. But many bankers have faced the blame that they have disrespected the decision.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">To relieve the situation, NRB revised the monetary policy and tightened the loans for purchase of automobiles and real estate and also eased the CCD calculation. This made BFIs somewhat easier to work according to the stipulated CCD ratio. After that, the BFIs started to take deposit at the interest rate of 12 per cent as before.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As the NRB has offered the deposit at this moment, banks claim that this will create moral pressure on the banks. &quot;If we take the deposit in less interest rate, we have already published advertisement for providing an interest rate of up to 12 per cent. And if we don&rsquo;t accept the NRB deposit, it will give a message that we are not in a liquidity crisis as said by the NRB,&quot; said one of the banker.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NRB has announced on Wednesday that it will keep the fixed deposit for one year from April 17, 2017 to April 14, 2018. Prior to this, the Financial Management Department of NRB had also invested Rs 725 million on February 24 and Rs 1.57 billion on February 5, 2017 as fixed deposit.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the notice of NRB, out of the total amount, Rs 279.8 billion will be deposited in the commercial Banks, Rs 524.7 million in the development banks and Rs 174.8 million in financial companies.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The Financial Management Department of NRB has requested the interested BFIs to submit proposals for receiving the money as fixed deposit stating the amount and the interest rate by 11:00 am of March 31.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Due to the sluggish works of the Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA), the service provider has not yet been fixed as six months have already passed after asking for the applications.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">For the installation of optical fiber for the first time in those places, the Authority had asked for applications from service providers on September 29, 2016. Though the application was to be filed till November 11, NTA extended the deadline to January 10, 2017 and received applications till the date. On that time period, two telecommunications service providers and one internet service providers proposed for auction bidding.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">A committee was formed with different department officials from the Authority for the analysis of the received applications. The six members under the coordination of Purushottam Khanal, Director of NTA submitted the analysis report a week before to Digambar Jha, Chairman of NTA.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">On the basis of recommendations made by the committee, the Authority can select one particular company for letter of intent (LOI) or can cancel it. Jha said that he has not studied the report till date, however, the decision will be made by April 6.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to the application filed by the service providers at NTA, Ncell, WorldLink and UTL have expressed their interests to invest Rs 2.71 billion, Rs 2.50 billion and Rs 2.01 billion respectively.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Meanwhile, NTA has made it clear that the project will be given to a company which can conclude the project at reasonable cost and which is technically capable. The selected company will get auctioned bid amount as grant from the Rural Telecommunication Development Fund (RTDF).</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;The establishment of GPZ in Simara expected to complete in two years as stated in the current fiscal year is being delayed by two years than the stipulated time. The expected cost of the project declared to be completed within two years was Rs. 2.2 billion.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Expected to complete the construction work within 2017/18, the project could not get completed on time due to sluggish pace of work of the government. Constructed in 135 bighas of land at Simara Special Economic Zone (SEZ), the infrastructure construction of the project is assumed to cost Rs 2.20 billion. The budget was approved by the Ministry of Finance (MoF) only two months ago.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The government has already released Rs 500 million for the infrastructure construction of GPZ in the current fiscal year. MoF agreed to provide the necessary amount in the context of the amount being insufficient to finish the project on time.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to the project, the work of GPZ will be moved ahead in different four packages. According to Arjun Pandey, Project Chief and Engineer of SEZ Development Committee, they are preparing for calling a tender in four packages to finish the project within three years from now.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Stating that preparation for different tenders for four packages is being made, Pandey informed that the tender for the first package will be invited within April 13.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Estimated to cost Rs one billion, the first package will finish the works including road, land development, drainage construction and drinking water, whereas in the second package, electricity, sewerage purification center will be constructed with an estimated expenditure of Rs 570 million.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the third package includes construction of different buildings for which Rs 350 million has been estimated, whereas construction of helipad, health club, guest house fall under fourth package and Rs 290 is estimated for its construction.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Pandey informed that the tender process for the remaining two packages will also be moved ahead within the current fiscal year ending in mid-July.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">With this, a moral question has arisen to the banks, how much interest the banks, which are paying up to 15 per cent of interest to other institutional depositors, will pay to the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB).</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The CCD ratio of BFIs had exceeded the limitation of 80 percent set by NRB due to the lack of lendable fund as per the demand of market. This led to unhealthy competition in the market. Due to this, Nepal Banker&#39;s Association (NBA) mediated with the banks not to pay interest more than 12 per cent to the deposits. But many bankers have faced the blame that they have disrespected the decision.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">To relieve the situation, NRB revised the monetary policy and tightened the loans for purchase of automobiles and real estate and also eased the CCD calculation. This made BFIs somewhat easier to work according to the stipulated CCD ratio. After that, the BFIs started to take deposit at the interest rate of 12 per cent as before.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As the NRB has offered the deposit at this moment, banks claim that this will create moral pressure on the banks. &quot;If we take the deposit in less interest rate, we have already published advertisement for providing an interest rate of up to 12 per cent. And if we don&rsquo;t accept the NRB deposit, it will give a message that we are not in a liquidity crisis as said by the NRB,&quot; said one of the banker.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NRB has announced on Wednesday that it will keep the fixed deposit for one year from April 17, 2017 to April 14, 2018. Prior to this, the Financial Management Department of NRB had also invested Rs 725 million on February 24 and Rs 1.57 billion on February 5, 2017 as fixed deposit.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the notice of NRB, out of the total amount, Rs 279.8 billion will be deposited in the commercial Banks, Rs 524.7 million in the development banks and Rs 174.8 million in financial companies.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The Financial Management Department of NRB has requested the interested BFIs to submit proposals for receiving the money as fixed deposit stating the amount and the interest rate by 11:00 am of March 31.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Due to the sluggish works of the Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA), the service provider has not yet been fixed as six months have already passed after asking for the applications.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">For the installation of optical fiber for the first time in those places, the Authority had asked for applications from service providers on September 29, 2016. Though the application was to be filed till November 11, NTA extended the deadline to January 10, 2017 and received applications till the date. On that time period, two telecommunications service providers and one internet service providers proposed for auction bidding.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">A committee was formed with different department officials from the Authority for the analysis of the received applications. The six members under the coordination of Purushottam Khanal, Director of NTA submitted the analysis report a week before to Digambar Jha, Chairman of NTA.</p>

The expected cost of the project declared to be completed within two years was Rs. 2.2 billion.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Expected to complete the construction work within 2017/18, the project could not get completed on time due to sluggish pace of work of the government. Constructed in 135 bighas of land at Simara Special Economic Zone (SEZ), the infrastructure construction of the project is assumed to cost Rs 2.20 billion. The budget was approved by the Ministry of Finance (MoF) only two months ago.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The government has already released Rs 500 million for the infrastructure construction of GPZ in the current fiscal year. MoF agreed to provide the necessary amount in the context of the amount being insufficient to finish the project on time.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to the project, the work of GPZ will be moved ahead in different four packages. According to Arjun Pandey, Project Chief and Engineer of SEZ Development Committee, they are preparing for calling a tender in four packages to finish the project within three years from now.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Stating that preparation for different tenders for four packages is being made, Pandey informed that the tender for the first package will be invited within April 13.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Estimated to cost Rs one billion, the first package will finish the works including road, land development, drainage construction and drinking water, whereas in the second package, electricity, sewerage purification center will be constructed with an estimated expenditure of Rs 570 million.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the third package includes construction of different buildings for which Rs 350 million has been estimated, whereas construction of helipad, health club, guest house fall under fourth package and Rs 290 is estimated for its construction.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Pandey informed that the tender process for the remaining two packages will also be moved ahead within the current fiscal year ending in mid-July.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The CCD ratio of BFIs had exceeded the limitation of 80 percent set by NRB due to the lack of lendable fund as per the demand of market. This led to unhealthy competition in the market. Due to this, Nepal Banker&#39;s Association (NBA) mediated with the banks not to pay interest more than 12 per cent to the deposits. But many bankers have faced the blame that they have disrespected the decision.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">To relieve the situation, NRB revised the monetary policy and tightened the loans for purchase of automobiles and real estate and also eased the CCD calculation. This made BFIs somewhat easier to work according to the stipulated CCD ratio. After that, the BFIs started to take deposit at the interest rate of 12 per cent as before.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As the NRB has offered the deposit at this moment, banks claim that this will create moral pressure on the banks. &quot;If we take the deposit in less interest rate, we have already published advertisement for providing an interest rate of up to 12 per cent. And if we don&rsquo;t accept the NRB deposit, it will give a message that we are not in a liquidity crisis as said by the NRB,&quot; said one of the banker.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NRB has announced on Wednesday that it will keep the fixed deposit for one year from April 17, 2017 to April 14, 2018. Prior to this, the Financial Management Department of NRB had also invested Rs 725 million on February 24 and Rs 1.57 billion on February 5, 2017 as fixed deposit.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the notice of NRB, out of the total amount, Rs 279.8 billion will be deposited in the commercial Banks, Rs 524.7 million in the development banks and Rs 174.8 million in financial companies.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The Financial Management Department of NRB has requested the interested BFIs to submit proposals for receiving the money as fixed deposit stating the amount and the interest rate by 11:00 am of March 31.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Due to the sluggish works of the Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA), the service provider has not yet been fixed as six months have already passed after asking for the applications.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">For the installation of optical fiber for the first time in those places, the Authority had asked for applications from service providers on September 29, 2016. Though the application was to be filed till November 11, NTA extended the deadline to January 10, 2017 and received applications till the date. On that time period, two telecommunications service providers and one internet service providers proposed for auction bidding.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">A committee was formed with different department officials from the Authority for the analysis of the received applications. The six members under the coordination of Purushottam Khanal, Director of NTA submitted the analysis report a week before to Digambar Jha, Chairman of NTA.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">On the basis of recommendations made by the committee, the Authority can select one particular company for letter of intent (LOI) or can cancel it. Jha said that he has not studied the report till date, however, the decision will be made by April 6.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to the application filed by the service providers at NTA, Ncell, WorldLink and UTL have expressed their interests to invest Rs 2.71 billion, Rs 2.50 billion and Rs 2.01 billion respectively.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Meanwhile, NTA has made it clear that the project will be given to a company which can conclude the project at reasonable cost and which is technically capable. The selected company will get auctioned bid amount as grant from the Rural Telecommunication Development Fund (RTDF).</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;The establishment of GPZ in Simara expected to complete in two years as stated in the current fiscal year is being delayed by two years than the stipulated time. The expected cost of the project declared to be completed within two years was Rs. 2.2 billion.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Expected to complete the construction work within 2017/18, the project could not get completed on time due to sluggish pace of work of the government. Constructed in 135 bighas of land at Simara Special Economic Zone (SEZ), the infrastructure construction of the project is assumed to cost Rs 2.20 billion. The budget was approved by the Ministry of Finance (MoF) only two months ago.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The government has already released Rs 500 million for the infrastructure construction of GPZ in the current fiscal year. MoF agreed to provide the necessary amount in the context of the amount being insufficient to finish the project on time.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to the project, the work of GPZ will be moved ahead in different four packages. According to Arjun Pandey, Project Chief and Engineer of SEZ Development Committee, they are preparing for calling a tender in four packages to finish the project within three years from now.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Stating that preparation for different tenders for four packages is being made, Pandey informed that the tender for the first package will be invited within April 13.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Estimated to cost Rs one billion, the first package will finish the works including road, land development, drainage construction and drinking water, whereas in the second package, electricity, sewerage purification center will be constructed with an estimated expenditure of Rs 570 million.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the third package includes construction of different buildings for which Rs 350 million has been estimated, whereas construction of helipad, health club, guest house fall under fourth package and Rs 290 is estimated for its construction.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Pandey informed that the tender process for the remaining two packages will also be moved ahead within the current fiscal year ending in mid-July.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">With this, a moral question has arisen to the banks, how much interest the banks, which are paying up to 15 per cent of interest to other institutional depositors, will pay to the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB).</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The CCD ratio of BFIs had exceeded the limitation of 80 percent set by NRB due to the lack of lendable fund as per the demand of market. This led to unhealthy competition in the market. Due to this, Nepal Banker&#39;s Association (NBA) mediated with the banks not to pay interest more than 12 per cent to the deposits. But many bankers have faced the blame that they have disrespected the decision.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">To relieve the situation, NRB revised the monetary policy and tightened the loans for purchase of automobiles and real estate and also eased the CCD calculation. This made BFIs somewhat easier to work according to the stipulated CCD ratio. After that, the BFIs started to take deposit at the interest rate of 12 per cent as before.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As the NRB has offered the deposit at this moment, banks claim that this will create moral pressure on the banks. &quot;If we take the deposit in less interest rate, we have already published advertisement for providing an interest rate of up to 12 per cent. And if we don&rsquo;t accept the NRB deposit, it will give a message that we are not in a liquidity crisis as said by the NRB,&quot; said one of the banker.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NRB has announced on Wednesday that it will keep the fixed deposit for one year from April 17, 2017 to April 14, 2018. Prior to this, the Financial Management Department of NRB had also invested Rs 725 million on February 24 and Rs 1.57 billion on February 5, 2017 as fixed deposit.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the notice of NRB, out of the total amount, Rs 279.8 billion will be deposited in the commercial Banks, Rs 524.7 million in the development banks and Rs 174.8 million in financial companies.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The Financial Management Department of NRB has requested the interested BFIs to submit proposals for receiving the money as fixed deposit stating the amount and the interest rate by 11:00 am of March 31.</p>
