According to jury coordinator Hempal Shrestha, Isolution life, Sarathi, Smartpalika, Thirdworld Nepal and Udhyami Nepal have made it to the top five list in the products category.</p>

<p>The nomination was open from June 15 to July 3 for seven different categories and there were a hundred plus nominations, the organiser said in a statement. Event coordinator Tushar Neupaney said, &ldquo;We had 27 nominations for start-up company award, 25 nominations for best product award. After three phases of selection, only top five remain in the competition.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>

<p>For the third phase of selection, the participants went through &ldquo;Presentation and Speed Dating&rdquo; session on July 21. At the end of the event, 10 jury members selected the top five companies out of 12 by voting on marking criteria that was available to the jury and the participants beforehand.</p>

<p>The top five finalist have to compete in online and SMS voting starting from Wednesday, July 25. Online voting will be open for ten days till August 3.</p>

<p>The event will be held on August 17 at the Hotel Radisson. In the event, the best companies in all seven categories will be awarded.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We will try to find investments for the deserving candidates of the ICT Awards,&rdquo; jury member Sushil Pokharel from Sushmit Investment informed the press. Advisor to the awards function, ex-minister Ganesh Sah told the press that this award is crucial for the development of information technology.</p>

<p><strong>How to vote online and through SMS?</strong></p>

<p>Top five candidates for startup and product can vote online and through SMS. To vote online, they have to visit <a href="http://www.ictaward.org/vote">www.ictaward.org/vote</a>. To vote through SMS one has to type ICT&lt;Company/ProductCode&gt;. Voting closes on August 3. More information on voting is available at the organiser&rsquo;s website (www.ictaward.org) and Facebook page.</p>

<p><strong>Selection process of other 5 categories</strong></p>

<p>ICT Award 2018 has a total of seven categories. Apart from startup and product, the organizers are still selecting the finalists for other five categories. The jury is going through the information from available nominations for Pioneer, Diaspora, Entrepreneur, Digital Governance and Media Award categories. There are more than 60 nominations in these five category.</p>

But the bones and joints department of the hospital has been currently running a campaign where the hospital is providing the transplant surgery at just Rs 350,000, the hospital said in a statement. The department informed that the concession will be available till August 15 this year.</p>

<p>According to the hospital, the concessional cost will include the cost of &nbsp;transplant surgery along with supporting surgeries, operation ward charges, a week-long post operation stay in deluxe ward of the hospital, medication charges, counseling expense of the surgeon as well as nursing and psychotherapy expenses.</p>

<p>Norvic Hospital has launched the campaign of this nature for the first time while it introduced transplant surgery service back in 2006.</p>

<p>Speaking at the 21<sup>st</sup> APG Annual Meeting in Kathmandu on July 24, the finance minister said that digital money transfers, virtual mode of payments driven by crypto currencies and evolution of non-banking financing vendors have complicated the tracking of financial transactions.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Real-time money transfers driven by new technology and multi service institutions have made money laundering and potential use of such fund for criminal and illegal activities much easier than before,&rdquo; reads a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance quoting Khatiwada as saying.</p>

<p>&ldquo;As this change of business calls for further intelligent and high tech approach of the regulatory institutions and the governments, meetings like this would help us to strategize our policies and actions to cope with such emerging challenges,&rdquo; the statement further said.</p>

<p>The minister expressed his belief that this plenary meeting would provide an opportunity to apply &ldquo;our wisdom, express our commitment and collectively resolve the global threat of money laundering and financing of terrorism&rdquo;.</p>

<p>He further said in his opening remarks that money laundering not only raises the threat of criminal activities, but also destabilizes investment climate and destroys business environment.</p>

<p>&ldquo;It undercuts government revenues and diverts resources away from basic development to illegal and unsocial activities resulting in added cost for security, good governance and inclusive development. This might also pose an impediment in our efforts to achieve the &lsquo;2030 Agenda&rsquo; briefly known as the SDGs,&rdquo; he noted.</p>

<p>He further said that the crimes of money laundering and financing of terrorism do not confine within the borders of one or two jurisdictions. In view of their trans-border flows, pervasive nature and use of advanced technology, prevention and control of these crimes call for robust global, regional, and national regimes with adequate legal and institutional mechanisms in place, he further said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Economists say that the government&rsquo;s decision to remove the textile industry from its priority list will have an adverse effect in its attempt to create employment opportunities within the country.</p>

<p>Investors who have invested heavily on the textile industry have expressed their dissatisfaction toward the recent change in tax policy adopted by the government.</p>

<p>As of last fiscal year, the producers of &lsquo;suti&rsquo; clothes did not have to pay VAT while the producers of synthetic clothes used to get 70 percent refund on VAT. The entrepreneurs have complained that the government&rsquo;s decision to waive the concession it had been providing will result in price hike and decline in the demand of home-made textiles.</p>

<p>Pragati Textile Industry&rsquo;s Director Jitendra Lohia says that the textile industries have managed to survive so far only because of the VAT concession provided by the government.</p>

<p>&ldquo;It is not possible to increase the price of clothes at the same ratio like other goods. We cannot sell them at a price lower than our cost either. So, how will we run our business?&rdquo; he questioned.</p>

<p>The businessmen have argued that the new tax policy will see a rise in prices of the home-made textiles by 13 percent, which can ultimately collapse the entire business of textiles.</p>

			'content' => '<p>July 24: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has decided to sell its second Boeing 757 aircraft. The state-owned corporation has completed all the formalities to sell the aircraft and has authorized a Singapore-based company to evaluate the selling price of the aircraft.</p>

<p>Managing Director of NAC Saugat Ratna Kansakar informed New Business Age that the process of selling the aircraft will move ahead soon after the Singaporean company finalizes the price. According to him, the evaluating company from Singapore was selected through a global tender.</p>

<p>Since NAC has added new Airbus to its fleet, the Boeing aircraft needs to be phased out for the proper management of the company, he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Majority of airlines perform their flight operation either with Boeing or by Airbus, while only a few use aircraft of both the companies.</p>

<p>&ldquo;But in case of NAC, we have already decided to move ahead with Airbus and we also have three airbus by now. So we are selling the Boeing aircraft,&rdquo; informed Kansakar.</p>

<p>NAC, which was established sixty years ago, was once leading the aviation industry in South Asia with 21 aircraft. But it currently only has 13 aircraft for domestic and international flights.</p>

<p>The airline sold its first Boeing 757 aircraft to BB Airways last year.</p>

<p>NAC bought its first wide-body Airbus A 330 some weeks ago and the second wide-body aircraft will arrive shortly. The airline aims to conduct its long-route international flights with these two Airbus. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Currently, the airline is conducting flight operation to eight medium-route international destinations, including India, with two Airbus A320 and a Boeing 757 narrow-body aircraft.</p>

<p>According to Kansakar, the airline will acquire two additional narrow-body aircraft by 2019.</p>

<p>For the third phase of selection, the participants went through &ldquo;Presentation and Speed Dating&rdquo; session on July 21. <p>The top five finalist have to compete in online and SMS voting starting from Wednesday, July 25. Online voting will be open for ten days till August 3.</p>

<p>The event will be held on August 17 at the Hotel Radisson. In the event, the best companies in all seven categories will be awarded.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We will try to find investments for the deserving candidates of the ICT Awards,&rdquo; jury member Sushil Pokharel from Sushmit Investment informed the press. Advisor to the awards function, ex-minister Ganesh Sah told the press that this award is crucial for the development of information technology.</p>

<p>According to the hospital, the concessional cost will include the cost of &nbsp;transplant surgery along with supporting surgeries, operation ward charges, a week-long post operation stay in deluxe ward of the hospital, medication charges, counseling expense of the surgeon as well as nursing and psychotherapy expenses.</p>

<p>Norvic Hospital has launched the campaign of this nature for the first time while it introduced transplant surgery service back in 2006.</p>

<p>The minister expressed his belief that this plenary meeting would provide an opportunity to apply &ldquo;our wisdom, express our commitment and collectively resolve the global threat of money laundering and financing of terrorism&rdquo;.</p>

<p>He further said in his opening remarks that money laundering not only raises the threat of criminal activities, but also destabilizes investment climate and destroys business environment.</p>

<p>&ldquo;It undercuts government revenues and diverts resources away from basic development to illegal and unsocial activities resulting in added cost for security, good governance and inclusive development. This might also pose an impediment in our efforts to achieve the &lsquo;2030 Agenda&rsquo; briefly known as the SDGs,&rdquo; he noted.</p>

<p>He further said that the crimes of money laundering and financing of terrorism do not confine within the borders of one or two jurisdictions. In view of their trans-border flows, pervasive nature and use of advanced technology, prevention and control of these crimes call for robust global, regional, and national regimes with adequate legal and institutional mechanisms in place, he further said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Investors who have invested heavily on the textile industry have expressed their dissatisfaction toward the recent change in tax policy adopted by the government.</p>

<p>As of last fiscal year, the producers of &lsquo;suti&rsquo; clothes did not have to pay VAT while the producers of synthetic clothes used to get 70 percent refund on VAT. The entrepreneurs have complained that the government&rsquo;s decision to waive the concession it had been providing will result in price hike and decline in the demand of home-made textiles.</p>

<p>Pragati Textile Industry&rsquo;s Director Jitendra Lohia says that the textile industries have managed to survive so far only because of the VAT concession provided by the government.</p>

<p>&ldquo;It is not possible to increase the price of clothes at the same ratio like other goods. We cannot sell them at a price lower than our cost either. So, how will we run our business?&rdquo; he questioned.</p>

<p>The businessmen have argued that the new tax policy will see a rise in prices of the home-made textiles by 13 percent, which can ultimately collapse the entire business of textiles.</p>

<p>Managing Director of NAC Saugat Ratna Kansakar informed New Business Age that the process of selling the aircraft will move ahead soon after the Singaporean company finalizes the price. According to him, the evaluating company from Singapore was selected through a global tender.</p>

<p>Since NAC has added new Airbus to its fleet, the Boeing aircraft needs to be phased out for the proper management of the company, he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Majority of airlines perform their flight operation either with Boeing or by Airbus, while only a few use aircraft of both the companies.</p>

<p>&ldquo;But in case of NAC, we have already decided to move ahead with Airbus and we also have three airbus by now. So we are selling the Boeing aircraft,&rdquo; informed Kansakar.</p>

<p>NAC, which was established sixty years ago, was once leading the aviation industry in South Asia with 21 aircraft. But it currently only has 13 aircraft for domestic and international flights.</p>

<p>The airline sold its first Boeing 757 aircraft to BB Airways last year.</p>

<p>NAC bought its first wide-body Airbus A 330 some weeks ago and the second wide-body aircraft will arrive shortly. The airline aims to conduct its long-route international flights with these two Airbus. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Currently, the airline is conducting flight operation to eight medium-route international destinations, including India, with two Airbus A320 and a Boeing 757 narrow-body aircraft.</p>

<p>According to Kansakar, the airline will acquire two additional narrow-body aircraft by 2019.</p>

<p>The nomination was open from June 15 to July 3 for seven different categories and there were a hundred plus nominations, the organiser said in a statement. After three phases of selection, only top five remain in the competition.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>

<p>For the third phase of selection, the participants went through &ldquo;Presentation and Speed Dating&rdquo; session on July 21. At the end of the event, 10 jury members selected the top five companies out of 12 by voting on marking criteria that was available to the jury and the participants beforehand.</p>

<p>The top five finalist have to compete in online and SMS voting starting from Wednesday, July 25. Online voting will be open for ten days till August 3.</p>

<p>The event will be held on August 17 at the Hotel Radisson. In the event, the best companies in all seven categories will be awarded.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We will try to find investments for the deserving candidates of the ICT Awards,&rdquo; jury member Sushil Pokharel from Sushmit Investment informed the press. Advisor to the awards function, ex-minister Ganesh Sah told the press that this award is crucial for the development of information technology.</p>

<p><strong>How to vote online and through SMS?</strong></p>

<p>Top five candidates for startup and product can vote online and through SMS. To vote online, they have to visit <a href="http://www.ictaward.org/vote">www.ictaward.org/vote</a>. To vote through SMS one has to type ICT&lt;Company/ProductCode&gt;. Voting closes on August 3. More information on voting is available at the organiser&rsquo;s website (www.ictaward.org) and Facebook page.</p>

<p><strong>Selection process of other 5 categories</strong></p>

<p>ICT Award 2018 has a total of seven categories. Apart from startup and product, the organizers are still selecting the finalists for other five categories. The jury is going through the information from available nominations for Pioneer, Diaspora, Entrepreneur, Digital Governance and Media Award categories. There are more than 60 nominations in these five category.</p>

<p>Speaking at the 21<sup>st</sup> APG Annual Meeting in Kathmandu on July 24, the finance minister said that digital money transfers, virtual mode of payments driven by crypto currencies and evolution of non-banking financing vendors have complicated the tracking of financial transactions.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Real-time money transfers driven by new technology and multi service institutions have made money laundering and potential use of such fund for criminal and illegal activities much easier than before,&rdquo; reads a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance quoting Khatiwada as saying.</p>

<p>&ldquo;As this change of business calls for further intelligent and high tech approach of the regulatory institutions and the governments, meetings like this would help us to strategize our policies and actions to cope with such emerging challenges,&rdquo; the statement further said.</p>

<p>The minister expressed his belief that this plenary meeting would provide an opportunity to apply &ldquo;our wisdom, express our commitment and collectively resolve the global threat of money laundering and financing of terrorism&rdquo;.</p>

<p>He further said in his opening remarks that money laundering not only raises the threat of criminal activities, but also destabilizes investment climate and destroys business environment.</p>

<p>&ldquo;It undercuts government revenues and diverts resources away from basic development to illegal and unsocial activities resulting in added cost for security, good governance and inclusive development. This might also pose an impediment in our efforts to achieve the &lsquo;2030 Agenda&rsquo; briefly known as the SDGs,&rdquo; he noted.</p>

<p>He further said that the crimes of money laundering and financing of terrorism do not confine within the borders of one or two jurisdictions. In view of their trans-border flows, pervasive nature and use of advanced technology, prevention and control of these crimes call for robust global, regional, and national regimes with adequate legal and institutional mechanisms in place, he further said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Investors who have invested heavily on the textile industry have expressed their dissatisfaction toward the recent change in tax policy adopted by the government.</p>

<p>As of last fiscal year, the producers of &lsquo;suti&rsquo; clothes did not have to pay VAT while the producers of synthetic clothes used to get 70 percent refund on VAT. The entrepreneurs have complained that the government&rsquo;s decision to waive the concession it had been providing will result in price hike and decline in the demand of home-made textiles.</p>

<p>Pragati Textile Industry&rsquo;s Director Jitendra Lohia says that the textile industries have managed to survive so far only because of the VAT concession provided by the government.</p>

<p>&ldquo;It is not possible to increase the price of clothes at the same ratio like other goods. We cannot sell them at a price lower than our cost either. So, how will we run our business?&rdquo; he questioned.</p>

<p>The businessmen have argued that the new tax policy will see a rise in prices of the home-made textiles by 13 percent, which can ultimately collapse the entire business of textiles.</p>

<p>Since NAC has added new Airbus to its fleet, the Boeing aircraft needs to be phased out for the proper management of the company, he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Majority of airlines perform their flight operation either with Boeing or by Airbus, while only a few use aircraft of both the companies.</p>

<p>&ldquo;But in case of NAC, we have already decided to move ahead with Airbus and we also have three airbus by now. So we are selling the Boeing aircraft,&rdquo; informed Kansakar.</p>

<p>NAC, which was established sixty years ago, was once leading the aviation industry in South Asia with 21 aircraft. But it currently only has 13 aircraft for domestic and international flights.</p>

<p>The airline sold its first Boeing 757 aircraft to BB Airways last year.</p>

<p>NAC bought its first wide-body Airbus A 330 some weeks ago and the second wide-body aircraft will arrive shortly. The airline aims to conduct its long-route international flights with these two Airbus. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Currently, the airline is conducting flight operation to eight medium-route international destinations, including India, with two Airbus A320 and a Boeing 757 narrow-body aircraft.</p>

<p>According to Kansakar, the airline will acquire two additional narrow-body aircraft by 2019.</p>

<p>The hospital is currently providing concession on joint transplant surgeries for the individuals who attended the free check-up camp.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Norvic generally charges Rs 500,000 and above for joint transplants. But the bones and joints department of the hospital has been currently running a campaign where the hospital is providing the transplant surgery at just Rs 350,000, the hospital said in a statement. The department informed that the concession will be available till August 15 this year.</p>

<p>According to the hospital, the concessional cost will include the cost of &nbsp;transplant surgery along with supporting surgeries, operation ward charges, a week-long post operation stay in deluxe ward of the hospital, medication charges, counseling expense of the surgeon as well as nursing and psychotherapy expenses.</p>

<p>Norvic Hospital has launched the campaign of this nature for the first time while it introduced transplant surgery service back in 2006.</p>

<p>Speaking at the 21<sup>st</sup> APG Annual Meeting in Kathmandu on July 24, the finance minister said that digital money transfers, virtual mode of payments driven by crypto currencies and evolution of non-banking financing vendors have complicated the tracking of financial transactions.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Real-time money transfers driven by new technology and multi service institutions have made money laundering and potential use of such fund for criminal and illegal activities much easier than before,&rdquo; reads a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance quoting Khatiwada as saying.</p>

<p>&ldquo;As this change of business calls for further intelligent and high tech approach of the regulatory institutions and the governments, meetings like this would help us to strategize our policies and actions to cope with such emerging challenges,&rdquo; the statement further said.</p>

<p>The minister expressed his belief that this plenary meeting would provide an opportunity to apply &ldquo;our wisdom, express our commitment and collectively resolve the global threat of money laundering and financing of terrorism&rdquo;.</p>

<p>He further said in his opening remarks that money laundering not only raises the threat of criminal activities, but also destabilizes investment climate and destroys business environment.</p>

<p>&ldquo;It undercuts government revenues and diverts resources away from basic development to illegal and unsocial activities resulting in added cost for security, good governance and inclusive development. This might also pose an impediment in our efforts to achieve the &lsquo;2030 Agenda&rsquo; briefly known as the SDGs,&rdquo; he noted.</p>

<p>He further said that the crimes of money laundering and financing of terrorism do not confine within the borders of one or two jurisdictions. In view of their trans-border flows, pervasive nature and use of advanced technology, prevention and control of these crimes call for robust global, regional, and national regimes with adequate legal and institutional mechanisms in place, he further said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

The textile entrepreneurs have complained that the home-grown textiles and clothes face great threat as they cannot compete with the illegally-imported goods and the sub-standard goods brought in the country by paying minimum customs duty.</p>

<p>Economists say that the government&rsquo;s decision to remove the textile industry from its priority list will have an adverse effect in its attempt to create employment opportunities within the country.</p>

<p>Investors who have invested heavily on the textile industry have expressed their dissatisfaction toward the recent change in tax policy adopted by the government.</p>

<p>As of last fiscal year, the producers of &lsquo;suti&rsquo; clothes did not have to pay VAT while the producers of synthetic clothes used to get 70 percent refund on VAT. The entrepreneurs have complained that the government&rsquo;s decision to waive the concession it had been providing will result in price hike and decline in the demand of home-made textiles.</p>

<p>Pragati Textile Industry&rsquo;s Director Jitendra Lohia says that the textile industries have managed to survive so far only because of the VAT concession provided by the government.</p>

<p>&ldquo;It is not possible to increase the price of clothes at the same ratio like other goods. We cannot sell them at a price lower than our cost either. So, how will we run our business?&rdquo; he questioned.</p>

<p>The businessmen have argued that the new tax policy will see a rise in prices of the home-made textiles by 13 percent, which can ultimately collapse the entire business of textiles.</p>

<p>Managing Director of NAC Saugat Ratna Kansakar informed New Business Age that the process of selling the aircraft will move ahead soon after the Singaporean company finalizes the price. According to him, the evaluating company from Singapore was selected through a global tender.</p>

<p>Since NAC has added new Airbus to its fleet, the Boeing aircraft needs to be phased out for the proper management of the company, he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Majority of airlines perform their flight operation either with Boeing or by Airbus, while only a few use aircraft of both the companies.</p>

<p>&ldquo;But in case of NAC, we have already decided to move ahead with Airbus and we also have three airbus by now. So we are selling the Boeing aircraft,&rdquo; informed Kansakar.</p>

<p>NAC, which was established sixty years ago, was once leading the aviation industry in South Asia with 21 aircraft. But it currently only has 13 aircraft for domestic and international flights.</p>

<p>The airline sold its first Boeing 757 aircraft to BB Airways last year.</p>

<p>NAC bought its first wide-body Airbus A 330 some weeks ago and the second wide-body aircraft will arrive shortly. The airline aims to conduct its long-route international flights with these two Airbus. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Currently, the airline is conducting flight operation to eight medium-route international destinations, including India, with two Airbus A320 and a Boeing 757 narrow-body aircraft.</p>

<p>According to Kansakar, the airline will acquire two additional narrow-body aircraft by 2019.</p>
