The hepatitis C virus (HCV) spreads through contaminated blood. According to the statement, most of the people suffering from hepatitis C are unaware about the disease as the condition in most of the cases remains asymptomatic.

“HCV, if untreated can further lead to cirrhosis, liver cancer and liver failure. HCV is curable if treated on time. So, it is high time people should be aware about the disease and get screening,” the statement further said.

According to a study, there are 130,000 people affected by this disease.

The main objective of the rally is to create awareness among the public and save many lives from hepatitis.
