Likewise, the numbers of visitors from Japan and Malaysia have also increased by 3.7 percent and 34.9 percent respectively,” a press statement issued by NTB reads.</p> <p>Meanwhile, tourist arrival from the UK, Germany and France also increased by 21.7 percent, 31.9 percent and 25.7 percent respectively in August. However, the arrival from the Netherlands declined by 30 percent.</p> <p>The arrival from Australia and New Zealand also saw a growth of 39.8 percent and 18.5 percent in August as compared to the arrival figures of 2017. Similarly, the number of visitors from the United States and Canada also saw a growth of 15 percent each in August.</p> <p>“Better positioning of Nepal’s tourism endowments has enhanced Nepal’s image and resulted in increased interest from the major source markets. He requested the banks and financial institutions to apply Basel III banking standard as the international community has already implemented Basel IV.</p> <p>He mentioned that the central bank is making efforts to identify and minimize the risks posed by the use of new technology. He also stressed the need for the banks to be under the regulation of the central bank, and increase trust among the depositors.</p> <p>“The central bank is working to uplift the banking and financial institutions (BFIs) of the country. There is a proper policy and laws in the BFI sector. But, there is a need to fully abide by the policies. Also, there is a necessity to amend the policies as per the need of the time,” said Khatiwada.</p> <p>“The banking sector is always under risk.
