<p>During the awards ceremony, NBA handed over a total of 23 awards in ten different categories. Sipradi Trading had won the award of the Best Managed Company during the last edition of the award.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Saakha Group&rsquo;s founder, Ganesh Bhakta Saakha, has been conferred with the NewBiz Lifetime Achievement Award. Last year, Panchakanya Group&rsquo;s founder Prem Bahadur Shrestha had received the same award.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Separate juries were formed to evaluate the works of business organisations from across the country and standout individuals to award them.</p>

<p>Addressing the awards ceremony, Chairman&nbsp;&nbsp; and Editor-in-Chief of New Business Age Madan Lamsal said that the programme was organised with the motive of encouraging commercial sector of the country as well as for its promotion and development. He also said that the awards ceremony will get continuity in the coming years.</p>

<p>Lamsal expressed his belief that this kind of awards ceremony would motivate the entrepreneurs to provide better service and make them more accountable. He further said new businesses are emerging in the country but the concerned authorities have not given proper attention in creating a favourable environment for the growth of this sector.</p>

<p>Among the 10 lucky winners of the second week, two winners received cash prize of Rs 100,000 each on Thursday. Ncell said it is verifying remaining eight winners of the second week, and will hand over the prizes from Kathmandu as well as Ncell Centers in the regions accordingly.</p>

<p>Irwin M Eusoff, chief strategy officer of Ncell handed over the cash prizes to the two winners of the second week &ndash; Krishna Kumari Thapa of Nuwakot and Arjun Pariyar of Tanahun - amid a function in Kathmandu on Thursday.</p>

<p>In the same function, Ncell also handed over the cash prizes to three winners of the first week. Ram Hari Aryal of Dhading, Raj Kumar Gurung and Kushal Gurung of Chitwan had won Rs 100,000 each in the first week of the &lsquo;Recharge and Win&rsquo; offer.</p>

<p>All Ncell prepaid and postpaid customers are eligible to participate in the offer. The Recharge and Win campaign was launched on September 2 for 10 weeks, through which 10 lucky customers topping up Rs 100 or more in a week will get Rs 100,000 every week.</p>

<p>According to the company, the &lsquo;Recharge and Win&rsquo; offer is implemented in a weekly cycle beginning on Sunday and ending on Saturday. Based on the recharges done in the week, the customers receive a random unique code by Monday of the following week for every cumulative refill of Rs 100. Ten lucky winners for the week are selected every Tuesday through a live draw that is broadcast on AP1 Television at 7:00 pm in presence of a celebrity.</p>

<p>The customs officials on Wednesday informed New Business Age that the country has not been able to import petroleum products since two days due to the drivers&rsquo; protest.</p>

<p>Although other goods have completed customs clearance, they have been lying at the customs point due to lack of vehicles for transportation, according to customs officer Santosh Yadav.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Import and export have been badly affected by the strike. The goods that have received customs clearance have been lying at this office,&rdquo; said Yadav.</p>

<p>Yadav further said that around 600 cargo vehicles have been stranded at the integrated customs point of Birgunj due to the strike.</p>

<p>The Birgunj Customs Point, which had been collecting revenue worth Rs 450 million a day on an average collected &nbsp;only Rs 220 million on Tuesday, informed Yadav.</p>

<p>The percentage of people living in extreme poverty globally fell to a new low of 10 percent in 2015 &mdash; the latest number available &mdash; down from 11 percent in 2013, reflecting steady but slowing progress, World Bank data show. The number of people living on less than $1.90 a day fell during this period by 68 million to 736 million, according to the World Bank.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Over the last 25 years, more than a billion people have lifted themselves out of extreme poverty, and the global poverty rate is now lower than it has ever been in recorded history. This is one of the greatest human achievements of our time,&rdquo; World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim said. &ldquo;But if we are going to end poverty by 2030, we need much more investment, particularly in building human capital, to help promote the inclusive growth it will take to reach the remaining poor. For their sake, we cannot fail.&rdquo;<br />
The World Bank stressed on the need for increased pro-poor investments to meet the target.</p>

<p>The World Bank observed that despite the tremendous progress in reducing extreme poverty, rates remain stubbornly high in low-income countries and those affected by conflict and political upheaval.</p>

<p>The estimates will be published in &ldquo;Poverty and Shared Prosperity 2018: Piecing Together the Poverty Puzzle,&rdquo; a report to be released on October 17, End Poverty Day.</p>

<p>About half of the world&rsquo;s countries now have poverty rates below 3 percent, but the report finds that the world as a whole is not on track to achieve the target of less than 3 percent of the world living in extreme poverty by 2030.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the World Bank, in the 25 years from 1990 to 2015, the extreme poverty rate dropped an average of a percentage point per year &ndash; from nearly 36% to 10%. But the rate dropped only one percentage point in the two years from 2013 to 2015.</p>

<p>The deceleration in global numbers stems mainly from an increasing concentration of extreme poverty in regions where poverty reduction has lagged, the report further said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A case in point is Sub-Saharan Africa, where, under all but the most optimistic scenarios, poverty will remain in double digits by 2030, due to the absence of significant shifts in policy.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Slowing declines in poverty also reflect falling commodity prices, conflict, and other economic challenges for developing countries, the World Bank said in a statement.</p>

<p>The World Bank&rsquo;s preliminary forecast is that extreme poverty has declined to 8.6 percent in 2018.</p>

<p>Two regions, East Asia and Pacific and Europe and Central Asia, have reduced extreme poverty to below 3 percent. The Middle East and North Africa region had previously been below 3 percent in 2013, but conflict in Syria and Yemen raised its poverty rate in 2015.<br />
The international poverty line is currently valued at $1.90 in terms of 2011 purchasing power parity, which equalizes its purchasing power across all countries and currencies.</p>

<p>According to him, the peak profile will contain detailed information about the mountain peaks including their height, climbing routes, location, expedition cost, time required for climbing, among others and all these information will be available on website.</p>

<p>Ghimire expressed his belief that this would make climbing easier.</p>

<p>NMA&rsquo;s President Santabir Lama said that 3 million people can view the profile at once. According to Lama, the process of preparing profiles of the peaks started some four years ago.</p>

<p>The list also includes profiles of 86 virgin peaks, which have never been climbed before. The government is also planning to open those peaks for climbing once the profile becomes ready.</p>

<p>The airline company said it generated EBITDAR Margin of 23.0 per cent at QAR 9.714 billion. EBITDAR was lower than the previous year by QAR 1.759 billion due to longer flying time resulting from the illegal blockade and loss of departing seats from the blockading countries.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;Replacing 18 mature routes, which were closed due to the illegal blockade, the airline opened 14 new destinations during the fiscal year (24 new destinations to date). New destinations come with launch costs and the necessity to establish market presence, which resulted in an overall net loss of QAR 252 million. With a positive operating cash inflow, the cash position of the Group remained strong at QAR 13.312 billion,&rdquo; the statement said.</p>

<p>The Birgunj Customs Point, which had been collecting revenue worth Rs 450 million a day on an average collected &nbsp;only Rs 220 million on Tuesday, informed Yadav.</p>

<p>The percentage of people living in extreme poverty globally fell to a new low of 10 percent in 2015 &mdash; the latest number available &mdash; down from 11 percent in 2013, reflecting steady but slowing progress, World Bank data show. The number of people living on less than $1.90 a day fell during this period by 68 million to 736 million, according to the World Bank.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Over the last 25 years, more than a billion people have lifted themselves out of extreme poverty, and the global poverty rate is now lower than it has ever been in recorded history. This is one of the greatest human achievements of our time,&rdquo; World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim said. &ldquo;But if we are going to end poverty by 2030, we need much more investment, particularly in building human capital, to help promote the inclusive growth it will take to reach the remaining poor. For their sake, we cannot fail.&rdquo;<br />
The World Bank stressed on the need for increased pro-poor investments to meet the target.</p>

<p>The World Bank observed that despite the tremendous progress in reducing extreme poverty, rates remain stubbornly high in low-income countries and those affected by conflict and political upheaval.</p>

<p>The estimates will be published in &ldquo;Poverty and Shared Prosperity 2018: Piecing Together the Poverty Puzzle,&rdquo; a report to be released on October 17, End Poverty Day.</p>

<p>About half of the world&rsquo;s countries now have poverty rates below 3 percent, but the report finds that the world as a whole is not on track to achieve the target of less than 3 percent of the world living in extreme poverty by 2030.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the World Bank, in the 25 years from 1990 to 2015, the extreme poverty rate dropped an average of a percentage point per year &ndash; from nearly 36% to 10%. But the rate dropped only one percentage point in the two years from 2013 to 2015.</p>

<p>The deceleration in global numbers stems mainly from an increasing concentration of extreme poverty in regions where poverty reduction has lagged, the report further said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A case in point is Sub-Saharan Africa, where, under all but the most optimistic scenarios, poverty will remain in double digits by 2030, due to the absence of significant shifts in policy.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Slowing declines in poverty also reflect falling commodity prices, conflict, and other economic challenges for developing countries, the World Bank said in a statement.</p>

<p>The World Bank&rsquo;s preliminary forecast is that extreme poverty has declined to 8.6 percent in 2018.</p>

<p>Two regions, East Asia and Pacific and Europe and Central Asia, have reduced extreme poverty to below 3 percent. The Middle East and North Africa region had previously been below 3 percent in 2013, but conflict in Syria and Yemen raised its poverty rate in 2015.<br />
The international poverty line is currently valued at $1.90 in terms of 2011 purchasing power parity, which equalizes its purchasing power across all countries and currencies.</p>

<p>In the same function, Ncell also handed over the cash prizes to three winners of the first week. Ram Hari Aryal of Dhading, Raj Kumar Gurung and Kushal Gurung of Chitwan had won Rs 100,000 each in the first week of the &lsquo;Recharge and Win&rsquo; offer.</p>

<p>All Ncell prepaid and postpaid customers are eligible to participate in the offer. The Recharge and Win campaign was launched on September 2 for 10 weeks, through which 10 lucky customers topping up Rs 100 or more in a week will get Rs 100,000 every week.</p>

<p>According to the company, the &lsquo;Recharge and Win&rsquo; offer is implemented in a weekly cycle beginning on Sunday and ending on Saturday. Based on the recharges done in the week, the customers receive a random unique code by Monday of the following week for every cumulative refill of Rs 100. Ten lucky winners for the week are selected every Tuesday through a live draw that is broadcast on AP1 Television at 7:00 pm in presence of a celebrity.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Import and export have been badly affected by the strike. The goods that have received customs clearance have been lying at this office,&rdquo; said Yadav.</p>

<p>Yadav further said that around 600 cargo vehicles have been stranded at the integrated customs point of Birgunj due to the strike.</p>

<p>The Birgunj Customs Point, which had been collecting revenue worth Rs 450 million a day on an average collected &nbsp;only Rs 220 million on Tuesday, informed Yadav.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Over the last 25 years, more than a billion people have lifted themselves out of extreme poverty, and the global poverty rate is now lower than it has ever been in recorded history. This is one of the greatest human achievements of our time,&rdquo; World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim said. &ldquo;But if we are going to end poverty by 2030, we need much more investment, particularly in building human capital, to help promote the inclusive growth it will take to reach the remaining poor. For their sake, we cannot fail.&rdquo;<br />
The World Bank stressed on the need for increased pro-poor investments to meet the target.</p>

<p>The World Bank observed that despite the tremendous progress in reducing extreme poverty, rates remain stubbornly high in low-income countries and those affected by conflict and political upheaval.</p>

<p>The estimates will be published in &ldquo;Poverty and Shared Prosperity 2018: Piecing Together the Poverty Puzzle,&rdquo; a report to be released on October 17, End Poverty Day.</p>

<p>About half of the world&rsquo;s countries now have poverty rates below 3 percent, but the report finds that the world as a whole is not on track to achieve the target of less than 3 percent of the world living in extreme poverty by 2030.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the World Bank, in the 25 years from 1990 to 2015, the extreme poverty rate dropped an average of a percentage point per year &ndash; from nearly 36% to 10%. But the rate dropped only one percentage point in the two years from 2013 to 2015.</p>

<p>The deceleration in global numbers stems mainly from an increasing concentration of extreme poverty in regions where poverty reduction has lagged, the report further said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A case in point is Sub-Saharan Africa, where, under all but the most optimistic scenarios, poverty will remain in double digits by 2030, due to the absence of significant shifts in policy.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Slowing declines in poverty also reflect falling commodity prices, conflict, and other economic challenges for developing countries, the World Bank said in a statement.</p>

<p>The World Bank&rsquo;s preliminary forecast is that extreme poverty has declined to 8.6 percent in 2018.</p>

<p>Two regions, East Asia and Pacific and Europe and Central Asia, have reduced extreme poverty to below 3 percent. The Middle East and North Africa region had previously been below 3 percent in 2013, but conflict in Syria and Yemen raised its poverty rate in 2015.<br />
The international poverty line is currently valued at $1.90 in terms of 2011 purchasing power parity, which equalizes its purchasing power across all countries and currencies.</p>

<p>According to him, the peak profile will contain detailed information about the mountain peaks including their height, climbing routes, location, expedition cost, time required for climbing, among others and all these information will be available on website.</p>

<p>Ghimire expressed his belief that this would make climbing easier.</p>

<p>NMA&rsquo;s President Santabir Lama said that 3 million people can view the profile at once. According to Lama, the process of preparing profiles of the peaks started some four years ago.</p>

<p>The list also includes profiles of 86 virgin peaks, which have never been climbed before. The government is also planning to open those peaks for climbing once the profile becomes ready.</p>

<p>The airline company said it generated EBITDAR Margin of 23.0 per cent at QAR 9.714 billion. EBITDAR was lower than the previous year by QAR 1.759 billion due to longer flying time resulting from the illegal blockade and loss of departing seats from the blockading countries.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;Replacing 18 mature routes, which were closed due to the illegal blockade, the airline opened 14 new destinations during the fiscal year (24 new destinations to date). New destinations come with launch costs and the necessity to establish market presence, which resulted in an overall net loss of QAR 252 million. With a positive operating cash inflow, the cash position of the Group remained strong at QAR 13.312 billion,&rdquo; the statement said.</p>

<p>Yadav further said that around 600 cargo vehicles have been stranded at the integrated customs point of Birgunj due to the strike.</p>

<p>The Birgunj Customs Point, which had been collecting revenue worth Rs 450 million a day on an average collected &nbsp;only Rs 220 million on Tuesday, informed Yadav.</p>

<p>The percentage of people living in extreme poverty globally fell to a new low of 10 percent in 2015 &mdash; the latest number available &mdash; down from 11 percent in 2013, reflecting steady but slowing progress, World Bank data show. The number of people living on less than $1.90 a day fell during this period by 68 million to 736 million, according to the World Bank.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Over the last 25 years, more than a billion people have lifted themselves out of extreme poverty, and the global poverty rate is now lower than it has ever been in recorded history. This is one of the greatest human achievements of our time,&rdquo; World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim said. &ldquo;But if we are going to end poverty by 2030, we need much more investment, particularly in building human capital, to help promote the inclusive growth it will take to reach the remaining poor. For their sake, we cannot fail.&rdquo;<br />
The World Bank stressed on the need for increased pro-poor investments to meet the target.</p>

<p>The World Bank observed that despite the tremendous progress in reducing extreme poverty, rates remain stubbornly high in low-income countries and those affected by conflict and political upheaval.</p>

<p>The estimates will be published in &ldquo;Poverty and Shared Prosperity 2018: Piecing Together the Poverty Puzzle,&rdquo; a report to be released on October 17, End Poverty Day.</p>

<p>About half of the world&rsquo;s countries now have poverty rates below 3 percent, but the report finds that the world as a whole is not on track to achieve the target of less than 3 percent of the world living in extreme poverty by 2030.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the World Bank, in the 25 years from 1990 to 2015, the extreme poverty rate dropped an average of a percentage point per year &ndash; from nearly 36% to 10%. But the rate dropped only one percentage point in the two years from 2013 to 2015.</p>

<p>The deceleration in global numbers stems mainly from an increasing concentration of extreme poverty in regions where poverty reduction has lagged, the report further said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A case in point is Sub-Saharan Africa, where, under all but the most optimistic scenarios, poverty will remain in double digits by 2030, due to the absence of significant shifts in policy.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Slowing declines in poverty also reflect falling commodity prices, conflict, and other economic challenges for developing countries, the World Bank said in a statement.</p>

<p>The World Bank&rsquo;s preliminary forecast is that extreme poverty has declined to 8.6 percent in 2018.</p>

<p>Two regions, East Asia and Pacific and Europe and Central Asia, have reduced extreme poverty to below 3 percent. The Middle East and North Africa region had previously been below 3 percent in 2013, but conflict in Syria and Yemen raised its poverty rate in 2015.<br />
The international poverty line is currently valued at $1.90 in terms of 2011 purchasing power parity, which equalizes its purchasing power across all countries and currencies.</p>

<p>Ghimire expressed his belief that this would make climbing easier.</p>
