With clear, colorless and a neutral taste this spirit provides the ultimate mixer for an unlimited palette to create any number of cocktails unless of course you like to take it neat.

The 8848 Vodka is a premium product that begins with the finest winter wheat that is grown in France as winter being the most favorable season. It’s the time of year when a more flavorful kind of wheat is produced which is responsible for giving our premium vodka the purest quality. This is primarily what sets it apart from other vodka as other producers are known to harvest wheat during the normal season which is usually in October or distill the vodka from rice and other different types of inferior grains. But 8848 Vodka relies only on wheat that is harvested after winter. Known as winter wheat this wheat survives the cold which has locked within it the most flavors in comparison to those produced at other times of the year.

Especially the wheat that is harvested after winter has been found to give vodka a superior taste. But 8848 goes further than that to enhance that clean, pure vodka taste; relying on a more traditional method to create its signature drink as 8848 Vodka uses copper in the distilling process. A copper distillation column is being used as it’s believed to be the metal that best purifies during distillation. The vodka produced is further blended with spring water from the Himalayas to give 8848 that unmatched purity and taste. The vodka has no additives and artificial flavors added and the product is sugar free as well as glycerin free. To assure best taste and quality 8848 is distilled five times to devoid any impurities. The 8848 Vodka is in a class of it’s own.

', 'published' => true, 'created' => '2016-02-01', 'modified' => '2016-02-07', 'keywords' => '', 'description' => '', 'sortorder' => '2938', 'image' => '20160201050500_8848_vodka.jpg', 'article_date' => '2016-02-01 00:00:00', 'homepage' => false, 'breaking_news' => false, 'main_news' => true, 'in_scroller' => false, 'user_id' => '1' ) ), (int) 6 => array( 'Article' => array( 'id' => '3097', 'article_category_id' => '1', 'title' => 'Tanahun brick factories suffer from to blockade', 'sub_title' => '', 'summary' => 'February 1: The brick kilns operated in Tanahun district have faced severe crisis due to the longstanding blockade imposed from India. Furthermore, water level in the rivers nearby has also gone down, so has the amount of rainfall.

In addition to that newer disease keeps attacking the hard grown crop, which is grown using the traditional means of farming. For many years, the farmers have been using the same kind of seeds too, says Hari Bahadur Khatri of Khagenkot-6.

Farmers would go to the traditional faith healer rather than to the agriculture development officer to help increase their produce. Farming as per the climate, taking advice of agro technicians and testing the soil are yet to be introduced to help modernize the farming technology.

As a result, people are increasingly leaving farming as a regular profession and migrating to the nearby urban centres and district headquarters.

Hence, the stakeholders point out the need to encourage farmers to adopt modern means of farming. Providing the knowledge and resources to carry out offseasonal farming, ensuring irrigation facilities and involving the farmers in the development of plans related to the agriculture development could help bring about some change in the sector, says civil society leader Rajendra Bikram Shah.

What is Nepal Food Corporation doing?

Impact of prolonged India's unofficial blockade on the country has been seen in villages too. Most of villages in the district have faced food shortage. Nayakwada, Ramidanda, Rokayagaun, Saklama, Daha, Ragda, Bhagawati, Talegaun and Kotang are struggling to cope with rising food scarcity. These villages lie in the remotest area in the district.

Chief District Officer Janardan Gautam said the Nepal Food Corporation was trying to supply food to Barkot to avert the possible food crisis in the remotest parts of the district.
Quota (8000 quintals) for food supply to the district fixed by the NFC for the current fiscal is too little to meet the demand in rural areas. Rice stored at the district headquarters-based NFC depot remained unsold while the villages have been hit by the severe food shortage and the bodies concerned seen faults in the entire food distribution system for the arrival of such situation. NFC depots in rural areas sans staffs and contractors are supplying rice arbitrarily, the locals complained.

The NFC regional office in Nepalgunj supplies food to Dashera and Pajaru while the NFC District Office supplies to Ghat and Ghogi depots.

The Bikendra Construction Service and Suppliers, which has made agreement with Zonal Office, Nepalgunj, for the food supply this year, has not yet supplied rice at Dashera and Ghogi depots. Rice kept at the depots was not sold last year as the price of rice in the depots was high as compared to local markets.

Chief at NFC Zonal Office, Shanker Sapkota, said that they could not ask the company for the rice supply this year. A first quarterly report of the District Agriculture Development Office shows that six VDCs are high risk of food crisis. They are Nayakbada, Gorkhakot, Majkot, Kortang, Daha and Rokayagaun. Market price has increased from 15 to 35 percent, the report said.

The VDCs are at high risk of food shortage due to decrease in production following drought and other reasons.

', 'published' => true, 'created' => '2016-02-01', 'modified' => '2016-02-07', 'keywords' => '', 'description' => '', 'sortorder' => '2938', 'image' => '20160201050500_8848_vodka.jpg', 'article_date' => '2016-02-01 00:00:00', 'homepage' => false, 'breaking_news' => false, 'main_news' => true, 'in_scroller' => false, 'user_id' => '1' ) ), (int) 6 => array( 'Article' => array( 'id' => '3097', 'article_category_id' => '1', 'title' => 'Tanahun brick factories suffer from to blockade', 'sub_title' => '', 'summary' => 'February 1: The brick kilns operated in Tanahun district have faced severe crisis due to the longstanding blockade imposed from India. These villages lie in the remotest area in the district.

A first quarterly report of the District Agriculture Development Office shows that six VDCs are high risk of food crisis. They are Nayakbada, Gorkhakot, Majkot, Kortang, Daha and Rokayagaun.

', 'published' => true, 'created' => '2016-02-01', 'modified' => '2016-02-07', 'keywords' => '', 'description' => '', 'sortorder' => '2938', 'image' => '20160201050500_8848_vodka.jpg', 'article_date' => '2016-02-01 00:00:00', 'homepage' => false, 'breaking_news' => false, 'main_news' => true, 'in_scroller' => false, 'user_id' => '1' ) ), (int) 6 => array( 'Article' => array( 'id' => '3097', 'article_category_id' => '1', 'title' => 'Tanahun brick factories suffer from to blockade', 'sub_title' => '', 'summary' => 'February 1: The brick kilns operated in Tanahun district have faced severe crisis due to the longstanding blockade imposed from India. Furthermore, water level in the rivers nearby has also gone down, so has the amount of rainfall.

', 'published' => true, 'created' => '2016-02-01', 'modified' => '2016-02-07', 'keywords' => '', 'description' => '', 'sortorder' => '2938', 'image' => '20160201050500_8848_vodka.jpg', 'article_date' => '2016-02-01 00:00:00', 'homepage' => false, 'breaking_news' => false, 'main_news' => true, 'in_scroller' => false, 'user_id' => '1' ) ), (int) 6 => array( 'Article' => array( 'id' => '3097', 'article_category_id' => '1', 'title' => 'Tanahun brick factories suffer from to blockade', 'sub_title' => '', 'summary' => 'February 1: The brick kilns operated in Tanahun district have faced severe crisis due to the longstanding blockade imposed from India. For many years, the farmers have been using the same kind of seeds too, says Hari Bahadur Khatri of Khagenkot-6.

A first quarterly report of the District Agriculture Development Office shows that six VDCs are high risk of food crisis. They are Nayakbada, Gorkhakot, Majkot, Kortang, Daha and Rokayagaun.

', 'published' => true, 'created' => '2016-02-01', 'modified' => '2016-02-07', 'keywords' => '', 'description' => '', 'sortorder' => '2938', 'image' => '20160201050500_8848_vodka.jpg', 'article_date' => '2016-02-01 00:00:00', 'homepage' => false, 'breaking_news' => false, 'main_news' => true, 'in_scroller' => false, 'user_id' => '1' ) ), (int) 6 => array( 'Article' => array( 'id' => '3097', 'article_category_id' => '1', 'title' => 'Tanahun brick factories suffer from to blockade', 'sub_title' => '', 'summary' => 'February 1: The brick kilns operated in Tanahun district have faced severe crisis due to the longstanding blockade imposed from India. These villages lie in the remotest area in the district.

', 'published' => true, 'created' => '2016-02-01', 'modified' => '2016-02-07', 'keywords' => '', 'description' => '', 'sortorder' => '2938', 'image' => '20160201050500_8848_vodka.jpg', 'article_date' => '2016-02-01 00:00:00', 'homepage' => false, 'breaking_news' => false, 'main_news' => true, 'in_scroller' => false, 'user_id' => '1' ) ), (int) 6 => array( 'Article' => array( 'id' => '3097', 'article_category_id' => '1', 'title' => 'Tanahun brick factories suffer from to blockade', 'sub_title' => '', 'summary' => 'February 1: The brick kilns operated in Tanahun district have faced severe crisis due to the longstanding blockade imposed from India. For many years, the farmers have been using the same kind of seeds too, says Hari Bahadur Khatri of Khagenkot-6.
