<p style="text-align: justify;">In the program, he informed that the company is planning to bring a new mutual fund scheme. The capital will provide services related with capital market from the office located at Babarmahal. The services include securities issuance and issue management, securities guarantee, share registrar and investment management, mutual fund management and merchant banking. The company is the 23<sup>rd</sup> registered merchant banking company of Nepal having Rs 100 million paid-up capital under the full ownership of NIC Asia Bank.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Speaking on the occasion of the 19<sup>th</sup> anniversary of NTA on March 3, Digambar Jha, Chairman of NTA said the amount should be spent in the sectors directed by the Authority.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">There is a provision in law that service providers should invest certain amount of their expenditure in the development, expansion and operation of telecommunication in rural areas.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">However, Jha complained that the service providers had not complied with the rules. He said that telephone service has reached to 94 percent of population and 65 percent of geographical territory of the country. According to him, works have already moved ahead by using rural telecommunications development fund (RTDF) for infrastructural development in the remaining areas.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&ldquo;We are installing optical fiber to connect all districts, headquarters and municipalities,&rdquo; he informed. &ldquo;Besides that, we &nbsp;are also starting programme to reach broadband to every Village Development Committee (VDC), educational institutions and health posts,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, Mahendra Man Gurung, Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) said that the ministry was always ready for the policy level reform in the telecommunications sector. &nbsp;&ldquo;It is important to make laws as per the policies,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Secretary Gurung stressed that besides capability, there should be dynamism in the Authority and the ministry was ready to cooperate in reform of NTA as early as it wants.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Also, Gurung focused on investing in increasing efficiency and capacity of staffs and accused the NTA of not taking leadership in terms of adopting new technology. Due to this, service providers are not being able to operate the services even if they have the capacity for this.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Likewise, Ananda Raj Khanal, Senior Director of NTA said that the time for implementation of commitment had come. &nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">He also informed that of the total six service providers, the performance of other service providers other than Nepal Telecom and Ncell, was weak, as they could not make profit and were not in a position to withdraw the investment either.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The provisions of the policy which was amended with objectives of providing relief to industries based on agriculture, construction, production-oriented and service industries, are going to be implemented.&nbsp; According to industrialists, the amended monetary policy will provide relief for industrial projects that are facing shortage of investable capital for the past five months.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to the amended provisions, the capital-credit -deposit (CCD) ratio calculation procedure has been made somewhat flexible to some extent till mid-July, 2017.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Issuing a directive on March 2, the NRB has said that while calculating the loan, it will be sufficient to take into account the two percent direct loans for the marginalized, commercial agriculture loan given to youths with subsidies in interest rate and only 50 percent of the loan invested in productive sector.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the latest statistics of loan investment, around 150 billion investable amount will be obtained through this provision.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">However, this investable capital added through the revision of the CCD calculation procedure without new deposit will not be received forever. &nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The NRB source said this facility was arranged for a short term as both BFIs and industries faced difficulties for lack of investable capital due to various reasons.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The Indian team arrived in Nepal on Tuesday, February 28 to study the technical aspect of banking system of exchange of the banned notes. The Indian team discussed with the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) and the committee formed by the Bank regarding the issue. The team returned on March 2.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to Gyanendra Prasad Dhungana, CEO of Nepal Bangladesh Bank and Vice President of Nepal Bankers Association (NBA) as a representative to the committee said that the Indian team was positive on the exchange of the Indian currency notes in Nepal. &ldquo;The team will submit a report to Indian government,&rdquo; he informed. Dhungana, however, said that the final decision related to the exchange depends on the Indian Government.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The Indian team asked about how the Nepali banking and financial institutions identify the real customers. They suspected that Indian black money could enter Nepal. Similarly, they also asked about the provisions on money laundering, action to be taken to customers presenting false details in Nepal and about &lsquo;Know Your Customer (KYC)&rsquo;. The related committee provided necessary information to the team.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">It is learnt that the team has told the committee that there is no problem to exchange Indian currency possessed by the Nepalese. However, Narayan Prasad Poudel, Spokesperson of NRB declined to provide information about the discussion between the two-member team of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the officials of the committee. He told that if the news comes in media, the Indian team could suspect and situation could emerge not to exchange the bank notes at all.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Officials from the Department of Currency Management and Department of Bank Supervision of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had participated in the discussion. The team had held initial discussions with the high level officials of the central bank and the Ministry of Finance (MoF).&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

Countries including China, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Thailand will be participating in the fair. The organizer expects that viewers from Japan, Korea and Thailand will be visiting the fair. As per the organizer, China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Thailand have booked 85, 10, 20, 50 and two stalls respectively for the fair.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&quot;Promotion and sales of domestic and foreign products and live interactions between the traders will be undertaken under the single roof in the fair. It will be a suitable platform for trial of new ideas, products and technologies,&quot; said FNCCI President Mukarka.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">As per the organiser, there will be exchange of skill and technologies between Nepali and foreign exhibitors, possibility of sole and joint investment and identification of investment sector in the fair. The fair will have handicrafts, tourism, information technology, agricultural products, energy, construction, education, medicines and iron and steel stalls.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Similarly, the fair will also include various stalls of readymade dresses, leather products, new technology and equipments, food items, furniture, fashion wear, home decor and service sectors. Likewise, the fair will showcase Nepali herbal products in 35 stalls. Moreover, 70 stalls will exhibit agricultural products of Himali Project.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Mercantile Communication, Ganesh Air Cargo, Heritage Carpet, Premiere Insurance are IT partner, official cargo, carpet sponsor and insurance partner of the fair respectively. Moreover, Argakhanchi Cement and International Labor Oranisation (ILO) have supported the fair as well. The organiser expects more than 200,000 visitors in the fair.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Speaking on the occasion of the 19<sup>th</sup> anniversary of NTA on March 3, Digambar Jha, Chairman of NTA said the amount should be spent in the sectors directed by the Authority.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">There is a provision in law that service providers should invest certain amount of their expenditure in the development, expansion and operation of telecommunication in rural areas.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">However, Jha complained that the service providers had not complied with the rules. He said that telephone service has reached to 94 percent of population and 65 percent of geographical territory of the country. According to him, works have already moved ahead by using rural telecommunications development fund (RTDF) for infrastructural development in the remaining areas.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&ldquo;We are installing optical fiber to connect all districts, headquarters and municipalities,&rdquo; he informed. &ldquo;Besides that, we &nbsp;are also starting programme to reach broadband to every Village Development Committee (VDC), educational institutions and health posts,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, Mahendra Man Gurung, Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) said that the ministry was always ready for the policy level reform in the telecommunications sector. &nbsp;&ldquo;It is important to make laws as per the policies,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Secretary Gurung stressed that besides capability, there should be dynamism in the Authority and the ministry was ready to cooperate in reform of NTA as early as it wants.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Also, Gurung focused on investing in increasing efficiency and capacity of staffs and accused the NTA of not taking leadership in terms of adopting new technology. Due to this, service providers are not being able to operate the services even if they have the capacity for this.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Likewise, Ananda Raj Khanal, Senior Director of NTA said that the time for implementation of commitment had come. &nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">He also informed that of the total six service providers, the performance of other service providers other than Nepal Telecom and Ncell, was weak, as they could not make profit and were not in a position to withdraw the investment either.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The provisions of the policy which was amended with objectives of providing relief to industries based on agriculture, construction, production-oriented and service industries, are going to be implemented.&nbsp; According to industrialists, the amended monetary policy will provide relief for industrial projects that are facing shortage of investable capital for the past five months.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to the amended provisions, the capital-credit -deposit (CCD) ratio calculation procedure has been made somewhat flexible to some extent till mid-July, 2017.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Issuing a directive on March 2, the NRB has said that while calculating the loan, it will be sufficient to take into account the two percent direct loans for the marginalized, commercial agriculture loan given to youths with subsidies in interest rate and only 50 percent of the loan invested in productive sector.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the latest statistics of loan investment, around 150 billion investable amount will be obtained through this provision.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">However, this investable capital added through the revision of the CCD calculation procedure without new deposit will not be received forever. &nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The NRB source said this facility was arranged for a short term as both BFIs and industries faced difficulties for lack of investable capital due to various reasons.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The Indian team arrived in Nepal on Tuesday, February 28 to study the technical aspect of banking system of exchange of the banned notes. The Indian team discussed with the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) and the committee formed by the Bank regarding the issue. The team returned on March 2.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to Gyanendra Prasad Dhungana, CEO of Nepal Bangladesh Bank and Vice President of Nepal Bankers Association (NBA) as a representative to the committee said that the Indian team was positive on the exchange of the Indian currency notes in Nepal. &ldquo;The team will submit a report to Indian government,&rdquo; he informed. Dhungana, however, said that the final decision related to the exchange depends on the Indian Government.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The Indian team asked about how the Nepali banking and financial institutions identify the real customers. They suspected that Indian black money could enter Nepal. Similarly, they also asked about the provisions on money laundering, action to be taken to customers presenting false details in Nepal and about &lsquo;Know Your Customer (KYC)&rsquo;. The related committee provided necessary information to the team.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">It is learnt that the team has told the committee that there is no problem to exchange Indian currency possessed by the Nepalese. However, Narayan Prasad Poudel, Spokesperson of NRB declined to provide information about the discussion between the two-member team of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the officials of the committee. He told that if the news comes in media, the Indian team could suspect and situation could emerge not to exchange the bank notes at all.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Officials from the Department of Currency Management and Department of Bank Supervision of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had participated in the discussion. The team had held initial discussions with the high level officials of the central bank and the Ministry of Finance (MoF).&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Similarly, the fair will also include various stalls of readymade dresses, leather products, new technology and equipments, food items, furniture, fashion wear, home decor and service sectors. He said that telephone service has reached to 94 percent of population and 65 percent of geographical territory of the country. According to him, works have already moved ahead by using rural telecommunications development fund (RTDF) for infrastructural development in the remaining areas.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&ldquo;We are installing optical fiber to connect all districts, headquarters and municipalities,&rdquo; he informed. &ldquo;Besides that, we &nbsp;are also starting programme to reach broadband to every Village Development Committee (VDC), educational institutions and health posts,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, Mahendra Man Gurung, Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) said that the ministry was always ready for the policy level reform in the telecommunications sector. &nbsp;&ldquo;It is important to make laws as per the policies,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Secretary Gurung stressed that besides capability, there should be dynamism in the Authority and the ministry was ready to cooperate in reform of NTA as early as it wants.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Also, Gurung focused on investing in increasing efficiency and capacity of staffs and accused the NTA of not taking leadership in terms of adopting new technology. Due to this, service providers are not being able to operate the services even if they have the capacity for this.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Likewise, Ananda Raj Khanal, Senior Director of NTA said that the time for implementation of commitment had come. &nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to the amended provisions, the capital-credit -deposit (CCD) ratio calculation procedure has been made somewhat flexible to some extent till mid-July, 2017.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Issuing a directive on March 2, the NRB has said that while calculating the loan, it will be sufficient to take into account the two percent direct loans for the marginalized, commercial agriculture loan given to youths with subsidies in interest rate and only 50 percent of the loan invested in productive sector.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the latest statistics of loan investment, around 150 billion investable amount will be obtained through this provision.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">However, this investable capital added through the revision of the CCD calculation procedure without new deposit will not be received forever. &nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The NRB source said this facility was arranged for a short term as both BFIs and industries faced difficulties for lack of investable capital due to various reasons.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The Indian team arrived in Nepal on Tuesday, February 28 to study the technical aspect of banking system of exchange of the banned notes. The Indian team discussed with the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) and the committee formed by the Bank regarding the issue. The team returned on March 2.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to Gyanendra Prasad Dhungana, CEO of Nepal Bangladesh Bank and Vice President of Nepal Bankers Association (NBA) as a representative to the committee said that the Indian team was positive on the exchange of the Indian currency notes in Nepal. &ldquo;The team will submit a report to Indian government,&rdquo; he informed. Dhungana, however, said that the final decision related to the exchange depends on the Indian Government.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The Indian team asked about how the Nepali banking and financial institutions identify the real customers. They suspected that Indian black money could enter Nepal. Similarly, they also asked about the provisions on money laundering, action to be taken to customers presenting false details in Nepal and about &lsquo;Know Your Customer (KYC)&rsquo;. The related committee provided necessary information to the team.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">It is learnt that the team has told the committee that there is no problem to exchange Indian currency possessed by the Nepalese. However, Narayan Prasad Poudel, Spokesperson of NRB declined to provide information about the discussion between the two-member team of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the officials of the committee. He told that if the news comes in media, the Indian team could suspect and situation could emerge not to exchange the bank notes at all.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Officials from the Department of Currency Management and Department of Bank Supervision of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had participated in the discussion. <p style="text-align: justify;">Speaking on the occasion of the 19<sup>th</sup> anniversary of NTA on March 3, Digambar Jha, Chairman of NTA said the amount should be spent in the sectors directed by the Authority.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">There is a provision in law that service providers should invest certain amount of their expenditure in the development, expansion and operation of telecommunication in rural areas.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">However, Jha complained that the service providers had not complied with the rules. He said that telephone service has reached to 94 percent of population and 65 percent of geographical territory of the country. According to him, works have already moved ahead by using rural telecommunications development fund (RTDF) for infrastructural development in the remaining areas.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&ldquo;We are installing optical fiber to connect all districts, headquarters and municipalities,&rdquo; he informed. &ldquo;Besides that, we &nbsp;are also starting programme to reach broadband to every Village Development Committee (VDC), educational institutions and health posts,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, Mahendra Man Gurung, Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) said that the ministry was always ready for the policy level reform in the telecommunications sector. &nbsp;&ldquo;It is important to make laws as per the policies,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Secretary Gurung stressed that besides capability, there should be dynamism in the Authority and the ministry was ready to cooperate in reform of NTA as early as it wants.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Also, Gurung focused on investing in increasing efficiency and capacity of staffs and accused the NTA of not taking leadership in terms of adopting new technology. Due to this, service providers are not being able to operate the services even if they have the capacity for this.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Likewise, Ananda Raj Khanal, Senior Director of NTA said that the time for implementation of commitment had come. &nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">He also informed that of the total six service providers, the performance of other service providers other than Nepal Telecom and Ncell, was weak, as they could not make profit and were not in a position to withdraw the investment either.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The provisions of the policy which was amended with objectives of providing relief to industries based on agriculture, construction, production-oriented and service industries, are going to be implemented.&nbsp; According to industrialists, the amended monetary policy will provide relief for industrial projects that are facing shortage of investable capital for the past five months.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to the amended provisions, the capital-credit -deposit (CCD) ratio calculation procedure has been made somewhat flexible to some extent till mid-July, 2017.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Issuing a directive on March 2, the NRB has said that while calculating the loan, it will be sufficient to take into account the two percent direct loans for the marginalized, commercial agriculture loan given to youths with subsidies in interest rate and only 50 percent of the loan invested in productive sector.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the latest statistics of loan investment, around 150 billion investable amount will be obtained through this provision.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">However, this investable capital added through the revision of the CCD calculation procedure without new deposit will not be received forever. &nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The NRB source said this facility was arranged for a short term as both BFIs and industries faced difficulties for lack of investable capital due to various reasons.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The Indian team arrived in Nepal on Tuesday, February 28 to study the technical aspect of banking system of exchange of the banned notes. The Indian team discussed with the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) and the committee formed by the Bank regarding the issue. The team returned on March 2.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to Gyanendra Prasad Dhungana, CEO of Nepal Bangladesh Bank and Vice President of Nepal Bankers Association (NBA) as a representative to the committee said that the Indian team was positive on the exchange of the Indian currency notes in Nepal. &ldquo;The team will submit a report to Indian government,&rdquo; he informed. Dhungana, however, said that the final decision related to the exchange depends on the Indian Government.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The Indian team asked about how the Nepali banking and financial institutions identify the real customers. They suspected that Indian black money could enter Nepal. Similarly, they also asked about the provisions on money laundering, action to be taken to customers presenting false details in Nepal and about &lsquo;Know Your Customer (KYC)&rsquo;. The related committee provided necessary information to the team.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">It is learnt that the team has told the committee that there is no problem to exchange Indian currency possessed by the Nepalese. However, Narayan Prasad Poudel, Spokesperson of NRB declined to provide information about the discussion between the two-member team of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the officials of the committee. He told that if the news comes in media, the Indian team could suspect and situation could emerge not to exchange the bank notes at all.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Officials from the Department of Currency Management and Department of Bank Supervision of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had participated in the discussion. The team had held initial discussions with the high level officials of the central bank and the Ministry of Finance (MoF).&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

In a press conference organized on March 3, the federation informed that the fair will kick off from March 16 at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. The co-organisers of the fair are Nepal Handicraft Association, Jadibuti Association of Nepal and Himali Project.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">According to Pashupati Murarka, President of FNCCI, the fair is being organized with a support of Trade and Exports Promotion Centre. On the occasion, the organiser informed that all 340 stalls including domestic and foreign have been booked for the fair. Countries including China, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Thailand will be participating in the fair. The organizer expects that viewers from Japan, Korea and Thailand will be visiting the fair. As per the organizer, China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Thailand have booked 85, 10, 20, 50 and two stalls respectively for the fair.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&quot;Promotion and sales of domestic and foreign products and live interactions between the traders will be undertaken under the single roof in the fair. It will be a suitable platform for trial of new ideas, products and technologies,&quot; said FNCCI President Mukarka.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">As per the organiser, there will be exchange of skill and technologies between Nepali and foreign exhibitors, possibility of sole and joint investment and identification of investment sector in the fair. The fair will have handicrafts, tourism, information technology, agricultural products, energy, construction, education, medicines and iron and steel stalls.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Similarly, the fair will also include various stalls of readymade dresses, leather products, new technology and equipments, food items, furniture, fashion wear, home decor and service sectors. Likewise, the fair will showcase Nepali herbal products in 35 stalls. Moreover, 70 stalls will exhibit agricultural products of Himali Project.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Mercantile Communication, Ganesh Air Cargo, Heritage Carpet, Premiere Insurance are IT partner, official cargo, carpet sponsor and insurance partner of the fair respectively. Moreover, Argakhanchi Cement and International Labor Oranisation (ILO) have supported the fair as well. The organiser expects more than 200,000 visitors in the fair.</p>
