			'content' => '<p>August 21: The upgradation work of the East-West (Mahendra) Highway will start in the current fiscal year. The Ministry of Physical Planning and Transport informed that the process of upgrading the highway into eight lanes will start after five months from mid-January. It is the longest highway of Nepal stretching 1028 kilometers from Mechi in the east to Mahakali in the west.</p>

<p>In the first phase of upgradation, a 112 kilometer section of the highway from Narayangadh to Butwal will be converted into eight lanes. Currently, the road section is of four lanes.</p>

<p>Joint-secretary Rajendra Raj Sharma, spokesperson of the ministry, informed that the first phase of upgradation work is being carried out with 15 billion loan from the Asian Development Bank. Other sections of the highway will be gradually upgraded after that, according to Sharma.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We are in the final phase of starting the upgradation works. The works will begin from January,&rdquo; said Sharma.</p>

<p>According to the ministry, there will be 21 motorable bridges in the road section of the highway. After the completion of the work, the ministry will start upgrading the road section from Narayangadh to Koshi via Pathlaiya.</p>

<p>The ADB has been doing homework in coordination with the ministry in order to expand the highway from Kakarbhitta in the east to Banbasa in the west.</p>

<p>The ministry has given priority in upgrading the eastern section of the highway due to traffic congestion.</p>

<p>The construction of the highway started in 2019 BS but the highway has not been expanded in the last fifty years.&nbsp;</p>

A notice issued by the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office on August 7 after adding section 136 (A) in the Company Act following the necessary amendment process has made it possible for the concerned government bodies to take such decision.</p>

<p>The notice includes a sample of the application required for revoking the license of the companies that have closed down. The companies will have to submit the application within two years since the amended act came into effect.</p>

<p>The president had already approved the amendment proposal on May 2 but the process was delayed as the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office was yet to prepare a sample of the application form.</p>

<p>Now, the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office has urged the closed factories to initiate the process to revoke their license. Until now, the non-functional companies were facing difficulties in cancelling their license due to unclear policies.</p>

<p>Registrar Geeta Kumari Humagain said that the process of revoking the license of any company was a complex issue but now the government has made it possible to do so after the amendment of the Company Act.</p>

<p>Altogether 160,000 companies have been registered with the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office. Humagain informed that around 100,000 companies among the total registered companies are currently non-functional.</p>

<p>China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), a big investment company of China, has decided to invest Rs 15 billion in Nepal. CHEC, a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC), will invest one of the largest amounts in Sanjelkhola Hydropower Project.</p>

<p>An agreement in this regard was signed between the concerned parties on Saturday, August 19. Energy Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong were also present during the signing ceremony.</p>

<p>The project&rsquo;s chief Bishnu Raj Adhikari and CHEC President Tang Qiaoling signed the agreement onbehalf of their respective organizations.</p>

<p>The government of Nepal had requested the Chinese government to invest in the 78-megawatt capacity project. As per the request, China decided to invest in Nepal through one of its biggest investors, CHEC.</p>

<p>After signing the agreement, both sides reiterated that the Rasuwa-based project would help in strengthening the bilateral relation between the two countries.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During the occasion, secretary at the Ministry of Energy Anup Upadhyay expressed his belief that the country&rsquo;s energy crisis would ease in the future due to such a huge foreign direct investment in a single project.</p>

<p>Experts have said the decision of the company, which invests Rs 1,100 billion worldwide every year, to invest in Nepal as a positive outcome in the efforts taken by the government to attract foreign investors.</p>

<p>Issuing a press statement, HAMI has urged the government to speed up the process to reach out to the affected people to provide them with the basic needs.</p>

<p>The affected people in various districts are facing the challenge of proper shelter, food, clean drinking water, sanitation and basic medicines, HAMI wrote in the statement.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The recent monsoon rains have taken lives of 131 people and injured more than two dozens of people. At least 35 districts have been affected by the floods and landslides. More than 7,000 households have been destroyed and 18,000 families have been displaced and living in temporary shelters but the response to reach out to them has been delayed,&rdquo; says the statement.</p>

<p>While floods have affected the terai region, hundreds of families have been hit by landslides in the hilly region. Hundreds of settlements are still at risk if being affected by further landslides, HAMI said in the statement.</p>

<p>&ldquo;In this emergency situation, HAMI demands for effective rescue and distribution of relief materials for the safety of human lives and properties with the efficient mobilization of all the concerned mechanisms accountably,&rdquo; the statement further reads.</p>

<p>HAMI also noted that the recent directive issued by the government regarding one-door policy in distribution of relief has discouraged civil society organizations to be involved in rescue and relief operation. As a result, flood survivors have not got timely support.</p>

The Ministry of Physical Planning and Transport informed that the process of upgrading the highway into eight lanes will start after five months from mid-January. It is the longest highway of Nepal stretching 1028 kilometers from Mechi in the east to Mahakali in the west.</p>

<p>In the first phase of upgradation, a 112 kilometer section of the highway from Narayangadh to Butwal will be converted into eight lanes. Currently, the road section is of four lanes.</p>

<p>Joint-secretary Rajendra Raj Sharma, spokesperson of the ministry, informed that the first phase of upgradation work is being carried out with 15 billion loan from the Asian Development Bank. Other sections of the highway will be gradually upgraded after that, according to Sharma.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We are in the final phase of starting the upgradation works. The works will begin from January,&rdquo; said Sharma.</p>

<p>According to the ministry, there will be 21 motorable bridges in the road section of the highway. After the completion of the work, the ministry will start upgrading the road section from Narayangadh to Koshi via Pathlaiya.</p>

<p>The ADB has been doing homework in coordination with the ministry in order to expand the highway from Kakarbhitta in the east to Banbasa in the west.</p>

<p>The ministry has given priority in upgrading the eastern section of the highway due to traffic congestion.</p>

<p>The construction of the highway started in 2019 BS but the highway has not been expanded in the last fifty years.&nbsp;</p>

A notice issued by the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office on August 7 after adding section 136 (A) in the Company Act following the necessary amendment process has made it possible for the concerned government bodies to take such decision.</p>

<p>The notice includes a sample of the application required for revoking the license of the companies that have closed down. The companies will have to submit the application within two years since the amended act came into effect.</p>

<p>The president had already approved the amendment proposal on May 2 but the process was delayed as the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office was yet to prepare a sample of the application form.</p>

<p>Now, the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office has urged the closed factories to initiate the process to revoke their license. Until now, the non-functional companies were facing difficulties in cancelling their license due to unclear policies.</p>

<p>Registrar Geeta Kumari Humagain said that the process of revoking the license of any company was a complex issue but now the government has made it possible to do so after the amendment of the Company Act.</p>

<p>Altogether 160,000 companies have been registered with the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office. Humagain informed that around 100,000 companies among the total registered companies are currently non-functional.</p>

<p>An agreement in this regard was signed between the concerned parties on Saturday, August 19. Energy Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong were also present during the signing ceremony.</p>

<p>The project&rsquo;s chief Bishnu Raj Adhikari and CHEC President Tang Qiaoling signed the agreement onbehalf of their respective organizations.</p>

<p>The government of Nepal had requested the Chinese government to invest in the 78-megawatt capacity project. As per the request, China decided to invest in Nepal through one of its biggest investors, CHEC.</p>

<p>After signing the agreement, both sides reiterated that the Rasuwa-based project would help in strengthening the bilateral relation between the two countries.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During the occasion, secretary at the Ministry of Energy Anup Upadhyay expressed his belief that the country&rsquo;s energy crisis would ease in the future due to such a huge foreign direct investment in a single project.</p>

<p>Issuing a press statement, HAMI has urged the government to speed up the process to reach out to the affected people to provide them with the basic needs.</p>

<p>The affected people in various districts are facing the challenge of proper shelter, food, clean drinking water, sanitation and basic medicines, HAMI wrote in the statement.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The recent monsoon rains have taken lives of 131 people and injured more than two dozens of people. At least 35 districts have been affected by the floods and landslides. More than 7,000 households have been destroyed and 18,000 families have been displaced and living in temporary shelters but the response to reach out to them has been delayed,&rdquo; says the statement.</p>

<p>While floods have affected the terai region, hundreds of families have been hit by landslides in the hilly region. Hundreds of settlements are still at risk if being affected by further landslides, HAMI said in the statement.</p>

<p>&ldquo;In this emergency situation, HAMI demands for effective rescue and distribution of relief materials for the safety of human lives and properties with the efficient mobilization of all the concerned mechanisms accountably,&rdquo; the statement further reads.</p>

<p>HAMI also noted that the recent directive issued by the government regarding one-door policy in distribution of relief has discouraged civil society organizations to be involved in rescue and relief operation. As a result, flood survivors have not got timely support.</p>

The Ministry of Physical Planning and Transport informed that the process of upgrading the highway into eight lanes will start after five months from mid-January. It is the longest highway of Nepal stretching 1028 kilometers from Mechi in the east to Mahakali in the west.</p>

<p>In the first phase of upgradation, a 112 kilometer section of the highway from Narayangadh to Butwal will be converted into eight lanes. Currently, the road section is of four lanes.</p>

<p>Joint-secretary Rajendra Raj Sharma, spokesperson of the ministry, informed that the first phase of upgradation work is being carried out with 15 billion loan from the Asian Development Bank. Other sections of the highway will be gradually upgraded after that, according to Sharma.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We are in the final phase of starting the upgradation works. The works will begin from January,&rdquo; said Sharma.</p>

<p>According to the ministry, there will be 21 motorable bridges in the road section of the highway. After the completion of the work, the ministry will start upgrading the road section from Narayangadh to Koshi via Pathlaiya.</p>

<p>The ADB has been doing homework in coordination with the ministry in order to expand the highway from Kakarbhitta in the east to Banbasa in the west.</p>

<p>The ministry has given priority in upgrading the eastern section of the highway due to traffic congestion.</p>

<p>The construction of the highway started in 2019 BS but the highway has not been expanded in the last fifty years.&nbsp;</p>

A notice issued by the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office on August 7 after adding section 136 (A) in the Company Act following the necessary amendment process has made it possible for the concerned government bodies to take such decision.</p>

<p>The notice includes a sample of the application required for revoking the license of the companies that have closed down. The companies will have to submit the application within two years since the amended act came into effect.</p>

<p>The president had already approved the amendment proposal on May 2 but the process was delayed as the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office was yet to prepare a sample of the application form.</p>

<p>Now, the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office has urged the closed factories to initiate the process to revoke their license. Until now, the non-functional companies were facing difficulties in cancelling their license due to unclear policies.</p>

<p>Registrar Geeta Kumari Humagain said that the process of revoking the license of any company was a complex issue but now the government has made it possible to do so after the amendment of the Company Act.</p>

<p>Altogether 160,000 companies have been registered with the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office. Humagain informed that around 100,000 companies among the total registered companies are currently non-functional.</p>

<p>Issuing a press statement, HAMI has urged the government to speed up the process to reach out to the affected people to provide them with the basic needs.</p>

<p>The affected people in various districts are facing the challenge of proper shelter, food, clean drinking water, sanitation and basic medicines, HAMI wrote in the statement.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The recent monsoon rains have taken lives of 131 people and injured more than two dozens of people. At least 35 districts have been affected by the floods and landslides. More than 7,000 households have been destroyed and 18,000 families have been displaced and living in temporary shelters but the response to reach out to them has been delayed,&rdquo; says the statement.</p>

<p>While floods have affected the terai region, hundreds of families have been hit by landslides in the hilly region. Hundreds of settlements are still at risk if being affected by further landslides, HAMI said in the statement.</p>

<p>&ldquo;In this emergency situation, HAMI demands for effective rescue and distribution of relief materials for the safety of human lives and properties with the efficient mobilization of all the concerned mechanisms accountably,&rdquo; the statement further reads.</p>

<p>HAMI also noted that the recent directive issued by the government regarding one-door policy in distribution of relief has discouraged civil society organizations to be involved in rescue and relief operation. As a result, flood survivors have not got timely support.</p>

The Ministry of Physical Planning and Transport informed that the process of upgrading the highway into eight lanes will start after five months from mid-January. It is the longest highway of Nepal stretching 1028 kilometers from Mechi in the east to Mahakali in the west.</p>

<p>In the first phase of upgradation, a 112 kilometer section of the highway from Narayangadh to Butwal will be converted into eight lanes. Currently, the road section is of four lanes.</p>

<p>Joint-secretary Rajendra Raj Sharma, spokesperson of the ministry, informed that the first phase of upgradation work is being carried out with 15 billion loan from the Asian Development Bank. Other sections of the highway will be gradually upgraded after that, according to Sharma.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We are in the final phase of starting the upgradation works. The works will begin from January,&rdquo; said Sharma.</p>

<p>According to the ministry, there will be 21 motorable bridges in the road section of the highway. After the completion of the work, the ministry will start upgrading the road section from Narayangadh to Koshi via Pathlaiya.</p>

<p>The ADB has been doing homework in coordination with the ministry in order to expand the highway from Kakarbhitta in the east to Banbasa in the west.</p>

<p>The ministry has given priority in upgrading the eastern section of the highway due to traffic congestion.</p>

<p>The construction of the highway started in 2019 BS but the highway has not been expanded in the last fifty years.&nbsp;</p>

			'content' => '<p>August 20: Amendment of the Company Act 2063 has paved way for the government to revoke the license of the companies that have stopped their operation. A notice issued by the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office on August 7 after adding section 136 (A) in the Company Act following the necessary amendment process has made it possible for the concerned government bodies to take such decision.</p>

<p>The notice includes a sample of the application required for revoking the license of the companies that have closed down. The companies will have to submit the application within two years since the amended act came into effect.</p>

<p>The president had already approved the amendment proposal on May 2 but the process was delayed as the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office was yet to prepare a sample of the application form.</p>

<p>Now, the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office has urged the closed factories to initiate the process to revoke their license. Until now, the non-functional companies were facing difficulties in cancelling their license due to unclear policies.</p>

<p>Registrar Geeta Kumari Humagain said that the process of revoking the license of any company was a complex issue but now the government has made it possible to do so after the amendment of the Company Act.</p>

<p>Altogether 160,000 companies have been registered with the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office. Humagain informed that around 100,000 companies among the total registered companies are currently non-functional.</p>

<p>China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), a big investment company of China, has decided to invest Rs 15 billion in Nepal. CHEC, a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC), will invest one of the largest amounts in Sanjelkhola Hydropower Project.</p>

<p>An agreement in this regard was signed between the concerned parties on Saturday, August 19. Energy Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong were also present during the signing ceremony.</p>

<p>The project&rsquo;s chief Bishnu Raj Adhikari and CHEC President Tang Qiaoling signed the agreement onbehalf of their respective organizations.</p>

<p>The government of Nepal had requested the Chinese government to invest in the 78-megawatt capacity project. As per the request, China decided to invest in Nepal through one of its biggest investors, CHEC.</p>

<p>After signing the agreement, both sides reiterated that the Rasuwa-based project would help in strengthening the bilateral relation between the two countries.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During the occasion, secretary at the Ministry of Energy Anup Upadhyay expressed his belief that the country&rsquo;s energy crisis would ease in the future due to such a huge foreign direct investment in a single project.</p>

<p>Experts have said the decision of the company, which invests Rs 1,100 billion worldwide every year, to invest in Nepal as a positive outcome in the efforts taken by the government to attract foreign investors.</p>

<p>Issuing a press statement, HAMI has urged the government to speed up the process to reach out to the affected people to provide them with the basic needs.</p>

<p>The affected people in various districts are facing the challenge of proper shelter, food, clean drinking water, sanitation and basic medicines, HAMI wrote in the statement.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The recent monsoon rains have taken lives of 131 people and injured more than two dozens of people. At least 35 districts have been affected by the floods and landslides. More than 7,000 households have been destroyed and 18,000 families have been displaced and living in temporary shelters but the response to reach out to them has been delayed,&rdquo; says the statement.</p>

<p>While floods have affected the terai region, hundreds of families have been hit by landslides in the hilly region. Hundreds of settlements are still at risk if being affected by further landslides, HAMI said in the statement.</p>

<p>&ldquo;In this emergency situation, HAMI demands for effective rescue and distribution of relief materials for the safety of human lives and properties with the efficient mobilization of all the concerned mechanisms accountably,&rdquo; the statement further reads.</p>

<p>HAMI also noted that the recent directive issued by the government regarding one-door policy in distribution of relief has discouraged civil society organizations to be involved in rescue and relief operation. As a result, flood survivors have not got timely support.</p>
