With no serious works for two years, the NRA has claimed that it will now do the post-earthquake reconstruction works in full swing.</p> <p>In the first two years, there were difficulties in policy as well as in technical and management level, but it will be easier to work now, claimed the NRA.</p> <p>The Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) report prepared by the government has estimated that it would take Rs 900 billion for the reconstruction works. The new buildings were jointly inaugurated by Additional Inspector General of Police Kamal Singh Bam, chief of Province-4 Police Office, Pokhara and Kozo Nagami, senior representative of JICA Nepal.</p> <p>Issuing a press statement, JICA said that the buildings were reconstructed by JICA under its “Project on Rehabilitation and Recovery from Nepal Earthquake”.</p> <p>“The old buildings of the area police office were severely damaged by the 2015 earthquake, and the district authorities requested JICA for reconstruction support to which JICA agreed after the on-site survey. These reconstruction efforts are successful outputs amongst JICA’s “Build Back Better” initiatives,” reads the statement.</p> <p>According to JICA, the new structures of Palungtar Area Police Office can be utilized for a wide range of police activities in order to maintain peace and stability in the area. These new structures are well equipped for people with disabilities as well.</p> <p>The construction work for these structures began in May 2016. This is the eighth project which was completed and handed over among over 20 public facility reconstruction efforts that JICA Nepal has been undertaking in Gorkha and Sindhupalchowk districts. The new buildings were jointly inaugurated by Additional Inspector General of Police Kamal Singh Bam, chief of Province-4 Police Office, Pokhara and Kozo Nagami, senior representative of JICA Nepal.</p> <p>Issuing a press statement, JICA said that the buildings were reconstructed by JICA under its “Project on Rehabilitation and Recovery from Nepal Earthquake”.</p> <p>“The old buildings of the area police office were severely damaged by the 2015 earthquake, and the district authorities requested JICA for reconstruction support to which JICA agreed after the on-site survey. These reconstruction efforts are successful outputs amongst JICA’s “Build Back Better” initiatives,” reads the statement.</p> <p>According to JICA, the new structures of Palungtar Area Police Office can be utilized for a wide range of police activities in order to maintain peace and stability in the area. These new structures are well equipped for people with disabilities as well.</p> <p>The construction work for these structures began in May 2016.
