January 23: Nepal SBI Bank Ltd has opened an extension counter at Bharatpur-based District Soldier Board (DSB) Pension Office of the Embassy of India.
India’s Defence Attache Colonel Avaneesh Chambial inaugurated the Bharatpur extension counter in the presence of Anukool Bhatnagar, managing director and CEO of Nepal SBI Bank.
According to the bank, more than 1,000 pensioners of the ex-Indian Army including family of the pensioners were present during the inauguration. The extension counter will be catering to the needs of the former Indian Army soldiers of Nepali origin as well as family members of the pensioners.
“This exclusive extension counter has adequate staff, seating arrangements etc to take care of the banking needs of the pensioners. With this, the old pensioners and their family members will not have to wait in long queue for drawing their pensions at bank counters,” reads a statement issued by the bank.
With the opening of DSB Bharatpur extension counter, Nepal SBI Bank is providing banking services from its 90 offices including 77 branches, eight extension counters, one in-touch outlet, seven regional/provincial offices, a corporate office and a network of 113 ATMs (including two mobile vans and four CRMs) across the country.
