January 13: Everest Bank has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Oriental Insurance Co to provide insurance facility to its customers opening the newly launched Matribhumi Bachhat Khata and Corporate Salary Account.
Everest Bank said in a statement that its customers opening the Matribhumi Bachhat Khata will get insurance facility up to Rs 500,000 with many other “attractive benefits”. Likewise, the customers who open the Corporate Salary Account with get insurance and advance salary facilities, said the statement.
The announcement was made amid a function held at its head office in Lazimpat on January 10.
The bank said it launched the Matribhumi Bhachat Kahata with an aim to ensure safety of the hard earned money of Nepali migrant workers offering them a good return.
Likewise, both the employer and the employees can benefit from the bank’s scheme under the Corporate Salary Account.
EBL claimed that it currently has a customer base of over 1 million people and is providing its services through a network of 86 branches, three extension counters, 28 revenue collection counters and 116 ATMs across the country.
