December 12: DAV School organised a three-day Souper Bowl Food Donation programme on the school premises in Lalitpur from December 9 to 11.
The programme under the initiative of Mother Teresa Social Service Club of DAV School was organised to make a differences in the lives of the children studying in “underprivileged” schools.
According to the organiser, students of the school made donations for the cause. The club collected non-perishable food items like rice, pulses, flour, oil, sugar, biscuits, cookies, noodles, beaten rice, beans, spices/dry fruits from the teachers, staffers and students .
The foods items collected from the programme will be handed to Mary Ward School, Jhamsikhel; Mary Ward School, Lubhu; Horac Nepal, Patan; Rotary Club of Pashupati, Kathmandu; Rejina Amiros School, Dhobighat; Navajyoti Center, Baluwatar; Kithsa Nepal, Kathmandu; and NRN Madhu, Kathmandu.
The school said its Social Service Club has been is organizing this type of large scale donation programme every two years.
The children have also been collecting stationary items for the underprivileged children and warm clothes to the needy in the winter season in different parts of Nepal. The Souper Bowl food donation programme was started by the club since the inception of the school with the sole motive to inculcate sharing and caring culture in the community.
