KATHMANDU, August 4: Nepal secured a historic victory against India in the CAVA Women's Volleyball Nations League, marking the first time the Nepali women's team defeating India.
In a thrilling match held at the National Sports Council’s Covered Hall in Tripureshwar on Saturday, Nepal triumphed over India with a 3-2 victory. Nepal won the first set 25-18, the third set 25-17, and the decisive fifth set 15-13, while India claimed the second and fourth sets 12-25 and 18-25 respectively.
The CAVA Women's Volleyball Nations League features teams from India, Iran, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and host Nepal. The tournament is being hosted jointly by Nepal and the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA).
The top four teams will advance to the semi-finals.
Upcoming matches include Sri Lanka vs the Maldives at 3:00 pm on Sunday, followed by Nepal vs Iran at 5:15 pm, both at the National Sports Council’s Covered Hall in Tripureshwar. -- RSS
