March 10: Indian multinational company Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd has awarded Shanti Devi Shah, a resident of Bara, Dumarbani, with the Best Farmer Award at its ‘Mahindra Udaya-2019’ campaign.<br />
Organising a function in Kathmandu, Sandip Mohata, director at Omni Automobiles Pvt Ltd, the authorized distributor of Swaraj tractors in Nepal, handed over the award to Shah on behalf of the company.<br />
According to Mohata, Shah purchased a tractor in 2011, and has been able to earn good income in a short period since then. Shah has purchased three tractors in eight years.<br />
Likewise, Shah said that tractors have helped uplift the living standard of her and farmers like her in the area. Shah has also started hardware business in the area from the income made from the tractors.<br />
