The airline posted on its official Twitter account that it has procured a brand new ATR 72-500 from the French aircraft manufacture based in Toulouse.</p>
<p>
According to the airline, it cost Rs1 billion to procure the brand new ATR 72-500 series aircraft.</p>
<p>
Buddha Air currently owns nine ATR aircraft out which six are an ATR 72 series and the other three are ATR 42 series aircraft.</p>
<p>
The newly acquired ATR 72-500 has already received the call sign (N-AMY from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal and is likely to land in Nepal by the third week of March this year.</p>
<p>
The airline said that it decided to procure the new aircraft to extend its international flights to India.</p>
<p>
The airline is shortly starting its direct flights to Kolkata, India and aims to operate the new aircraft in the same route.</p>
<p>
After the arrival of the new ATR 72 series aircraft, the airline will have a total of twelve aircraft in its fleet. The airline also owns two Beechcrafts manufactured in the USA. </p>
