Regular consumption of gas stands at 30,000 metric tons per month, according to NOC data. </p> <p>“We are conducting feasibility study to build storage centers in different regions depending on their supply and demand trend,” says Bhattarai. He informs that Kavre’s Panchkhal will have a storage facility with 10,000 metric ton capacity. Meanwhile, NOC is searching suitable locations in Jhapa, Janakpur, Trisuli, Nepalgunj. It has estimated to cost nearly Rs 23 billion on construction of the five storage depots. The cost does not include the expenses for acquisition of lands for the purpose. According to officials, a total of 95 bigah land is necessary to construct the projects. </p> <p>NOC informed that homework regarding the budgeting is being carried to build the fuel depots. “Cooking gas is an important item for us. It will aim to upgrade the country from least developed country to developing country by 2022,” he mentions. </p> <p>The upcoming budget has targete to spend Rs 150 billion in reconstruction and restoration of the structures destroyed and damaged by the last year’s devastating earthquake. Similarly, energy sector will receive the highest priority to address energy emergency period as announced by the government. NPC said that the budget will give adequate attention in maintaining good governance by making development expenditure more productive and decreasing general expenses. </p> <p>Construction of large airports, upgradation of highways, implementation of five-year roadway plan, expansion of irrigation areas and river control projects will also get high priorities in the budget. Meanwhile, social infrastructure, modernization of agriculture along with industry and tourism sector will also get important space in the budget. The NPC has fixed Rs 908 billion ceiling for the upcoming budget. </p> <p>The government has targeted to raise revenues of Rs 515 billion for resource mobilization of the budget. “Budget ceiling has been prepared with the target of raising Rs 293 billion in foreign assistance and Rs 100 billion in domestic loans,” informs Than Prasad Pangeni, Vice-secretary of Finance Ministry’s Budget Department. He informs that Kavre’s Panchkhal will have a storage facility with 10,000 metric ton capacity. Meanwhile, NOC is searching suitable locations in Jhapa, Janakpur, Trisuli, Nepalgunj. It has estimated to cost nearly Rs 23 billion on construction of the five storage depots. The cost does not include the expenses for acquisition of lands for the purpose. He informs that Kavre’s Panchkhal will have a storage facility with 10,000 metric ton capacity. Meanwhile, NOC is searching suitable locations in Jhapa, Janakpur, Trisuli, Nepalgunj. It has estimated to cost nearly Rs 23 billion on construction of the five storage depots. The cost does not include the expenses for acquisition of lands for the purpose. According to officials, a total of 95 bigah land is necessary to construct the projects. </p> <p>NOC informed that homework regarding the budgeting is being carried to build the fuel depots. “Cooking gas is an important item for us. Insurance board (IB) recently made public such types of insurance schemes under agricultural insurance. “Demand of such insurance policies in insurance companies has prompted us to introduce bee, mushroom and ostrich insurance schemes,” says Kundan Sapkota, Deputy Director of IB. </p> <p>Farmers can purchase these policies institutionally or personally. Insurers will get discount up to 75 percent in insurance premium while purchasing these schemes. Farmers are required to pay five percent insurance premium of total insured amount on purchase of bee and mushroom cultivation insurance scheme. Whereas, they need to pay 2 percent premium of total insured amount on ostrich insurance scheme, according to IB. </p> <p>IB informed that under bee farming insurance policy, insurance company will compensate up to 90 percent of actual loss occurred under the insurance amount if bees/hives take any damages during the insurance period. Farmers can transfer risks of damages in bees/hives occurred during transportation, diseases or other natural causes, eradication of bee farming due to poisonous habitat to the insurance companies. </p> <p>Similarly, insurance companies will compensate the total amount of investments under mushroom cultivation insurance scheme if any damages occur during the period of insurance. As per the IB, insurance amount will be calculated on the basis of actual cost of production materials (straw, plastic bag, sees, wood, ropes, labor charge, pharlamin etc), actual price of machineries (straw cutting machine, sprayer pump, straw vaporising drums etc), and shelter and management expenses (bamboo, straw, plastic, ropes, nets, wages, wires etc).</p> <p>Likewise, insured will receive compensation in case of death of the ostriches or if any damages occurs during the period of insurance. NPC said that the budget will give adequate attention in maintaining good governance by making development expenditure more productive and decreasing general expenses. </p> <p>Construction of large airports, upgradation of highways, implementation of five-year roadway plan, expansion of irrigation areas and river control projects will also get high priorities in the budget. Meanwhile, social infrastructure, modernization of agriculture along with industry and tourism sector will also get important space in the budget. He informs that Kavre’s Panchkhal will have a storage facility with 10,000 metric ton capacity. Meanwhile, NOC is searching suitable locations in Jhapa, Janakpur, Trisuli, Nepalgunj. It has estimated to cost nearly Rs 23 billion on construction of the five storage depots. The cost does not include the expenses for acquisition of lands for the purpose. According to officials, a total of 95 bigah land is necessary to construct the projects. </p> <p>NOC informed that homework regarding the budgeting is being carried to build the fuel depots. “Cooking gas is an important item for us. The budget will focus on building self-sufficient nation through entrepreneurship development. It will aim to upgrade the country from least developed country to developing country by 2022,” he mentions. </p> <p>The upcoming budget has targete to spend Rs 150 billion in reconstruction and restoration of the structures destroyed and damaged by the last year’s devastating earthquake. Similarly, energy sector will receive the highest priority to address energy emergency period as announced by the government. NPC said that the budget will give adequate attention in maintaining good governance by making development expenditure more productive and decreasing general expenses. </p> <p>Construction of large airports, upgradation of highways, implementation of five-year roadway plan, expansion of irrigation areas and river control projects will also get high priorities in the budget. Meanwhile, social infrastructure, modernization of agriculture along with industry and tourism sector will also get important space in the budget. The NPC has fixed Rs 908 billion ceiling for the upcoming budget. </p> <p>The government has targeted to raise revenues of Rs 515 billion for resource mobilization of the budget. “Budget ceiling has been prepared with the target of raising Rs 293 billion in foreign assistance and Rs 100 billion in domestic loans,” informs Than Prasad Pangeni, Vice-secretary of Finance Ministry’s Budget Department.
