<p>The AGM also approved the audited balance sheet and NFRS balance sheet for last fiscal year.</p>

<p>The bank said it also released the first annual book named &ldquo;Pratibimb&rdquo; to mark its 23rd anniversary.</p>

<p>During the plenary discussion moderated by ex-National Planning Commission (NPC) member Bimala Rai, PAF Nepal&rsquo;s Executive Director KC said, &ldquo;Development of Handicraft industry can generate jobs, encouraging youths to explore livelihood options within Nepal.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Indus Heritage Trust (Pakistan)&rsquo;s Chairperson Malik said, &ldquo;In South Asia, we have a common culture, a same thread that goes around. But it is so difficult for artisans and products to move in and out the country. We need to find common solutions to these common problems.&rdquo;</p>

<p>According to Asian Heritage Foundation (India) Executive Director Seth, South Asia is home to a quarter of the global population, and the region&rsquo;s craft industry has a potential to revitalize the economy of South Asia.</p>

<p>The second panel of the day brought together gender and social economist Dr Bina Pradhan, Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Association Nepal (FWEAN)&rsquo;s first Vice President Reeta Simha and prominent women entrepreneur Shyam Badan Shrestha to discuss women entrepreneurship. The discussion was moderated by Sangeeta Thapa, executive director of Siddhartha Arty Gallery.</p>

<p>Dr Pradhan said that it is difficult to add rural women entrepreneurs to value chains,&nbsp; so policy makers and programmers need to make a concerted effort.</p>

<p>FWEAN&rsquo;s Simha said, &ldquo;We have skills, but what we lack is technology, so we need to focus on technology development.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Woman entrepreneur Shrestha said, &ldquo;During the blockade of 1990, we realized that we have raw materials in abundance, but we must learn how you can use them.&rdquo;</p>

<p>More than 100 Nepali artisans from rural, excluded and conflict-affected communities are showcasing and selling their products in the festival, which concludes on Sunday, January 14.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The commencement of the Nepal China Cross Border Optical Fiber Link and the IP services over it is unprecedented, as it is a new direct alternative route for traffic demand generated from Nepal to all over the world, and which provides better quality of service and low latency solution for end users in Nepal,&rdquo; reads the statement.</p>

<p>The Nepal China Cross Border Optical Fiber Link and the IP services was inaugurated amid a function held at the Nepal Telecom office, Kathmandu.</p>

<p>Inaugurating the service, Minister for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet said, &ldquo;Commercialization of Nepal-China Optical Fiber Link is a major milestone for development of Internet Infrastructure in Nepal.&rdquo;</p>

<p>&nbsp;He also stressed on excellent and growing relation between the two neighboring countries. He further said that the operation of Nepal-China direct cross-border link shall prove to be a turning point for Nepal.</p>

<p>Inaugurating the 18<sup>th</sup> general assembly of AAN, Minister for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet said that the government is preparing to implement &lsquo;clean feed&rsquo; policy in the communication sector. The minister said that the clean feed policy was supposed to be implemented from the start of the current fiscal year but was stalled due to various reasons. He further said that the policy will be implemented soon.</p>

<p>The construction of road from Kalikot to Humla has gained pace after almost a decade of dillydallying. Out of the total 196 kilometres of road of the Karnali Corridor project, 66 kilometers has already been completed.</p>

<p>The construction works started gaining momentum after the Nepalese Army took over the construction work. The 33-kilometre road section from Kalikot&rsquo;s Lalighat to Ghataparichaur and another 33-kilometre road section from Bajura&rsquo;s Ratadanda to Arthugechaur have been completed so far.</p>

<p>The Nepalese Army&rsquo;s construction division informed that vehicles can be operated in the 66-kilometer road which lies in between Kalokot&rsquo;s Khulalu to Humla&rsquo;s Simikot.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We are yet to blast the rocks in a four-kilometer stretch between Bhukkakhola to Tolibhir,&rdquo; said the Nepalese Army&rsquo;s in-charge Indiwar Gurung.</p>

<p>Of late, the Nepalese Army has expedited the construction work which had remained stalled in the past ten years. According to the army sources, they are planning to complete the construction works within the deadline given to them.</p>

<p>Humla is the only district which is yet to be connected to the national network of roads.</p>

<p>Nepal Rastra Bank has instructed revenue collection offices as well as bank and financial institutions to remain open on the last Saturday of certain months to ensure that the revenue collection does not get affected. The central bank issued such instruction as per the decision taken by the Ministry of Finance on September 17 to help the Revenue Management Division collect taxes during the Nepali months of Asoj, Poush, Chaitra and Asar.</p>

<p>Following the NRB instruction, the concerned government offices and BFIs will have to remain open during public holidays and on Saturdays during the last week of every third month of the fiscal year from now onwards.</p>

<p>During the plenary discussion moderated by ex-National Planning Commission (NPC) member Bimala Rai, PAF Nepal&rsquo;s Executive Director KC said, &ldquo;Development of Handicraft industry can generate jobs, encouraging youths to explore livelihood options within Nepal.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Indus Heritage Trust (Pakistan)&rsquo;s Chairperson Malik said, &ldquo;In South Asia, we have a common culture, a same thread that goes around. But it is so difficult for artisans and products to move in and out the country. We need to find common solutions to these common problems.&rdquo;</p>

<p>According to Asian Heritage Foundation (India) Executive Director Seth, South Asia is home to a quarter of the global population, and the region&rsquo;s craft industry has a potential to revitalize the economy of South Asia.</p>

<p>The second panel of the day brought together gender and social economist Dr Bina Pradhan, Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Association Nepal (FWEAN)&rsquo;s first Vice President Reeta Simha and prominent women entrepreneur Shyam Badan Shrestha to discuss women entrepreneurship. The discussion was moderated by Sangeeta Thapa, executive director of Siddhartha Arty Gallery.</p>

<p>Dr Pradhan said that it is difficult to add rural women entrepreneurs to value chains,&nbsp; so policy makers and programmers need to make a concerted effort.</p>

<p>FWEAN&rsquo;s Simha said, &ldquo;We have skills, but what we lack is technology, so we need to focus on technology development.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Woman entrepreneur Shrestha said, &ldquo;During the blockade of 1990, we realized that we have raw materials in abundance, but we must learn how you can use them.&rdquo;</p>

<p>More than 100 Nepali artisans from rural, excluded and conflict-affected communities are showcasing and selling their products in the festival, which concludes on Sunday, January 14.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The commencement of the Nepal China Cross Border Optical Fiber Link and the IP services over it is unprecedented, as it is a new direct alternative route for traffic demand generated from Nepal to all over the world, and which provides better quality of service and low latency solution for end users in Nepal,&rdquo; reads the statement.</p>

<p>The Nepal China Cross Border Optical Fiber Link and the IP services was inaugurated amid a function held at the Nepal Telecom office, Kathmandu.</p>

<p>Inaugurating the service, Minister for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet said, &ldquo;Commercialization of Nepal-China Optical Fiber Link is a major milestone for development of Internet Infrastructure in Nepal.&rdquo;</p>

<p>&nbsp;He also stressed on excellent and growing relation between the two neighboring countries. He further said that the operation of Nepal-China direct cross-border link shall prove to be a turning point for Nepal.</p>

<p>Speaking on the occasion, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong said that the cable will not only shorten the network latency, but also bring the two countries more closer to each other. She stated that the commercial operation of Nepal China Optical-fiber link marks a new connectivity between the two.</p>

<p>Inaugurating the 18<sup>th</sup> general assembly of AAN, Minister for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet said that the government is preparing to implement &lsquo;clean feed&rsquo; policy in the communication sector. The minister said that the clean feed policy was supposed to be implemented from the start of the current fiscal year but was stalled due to various reasons. He further said that the policy will be implemented soon.</p>

<p>The construction of road from Kalikot to Humla has gained pace after almost a decade of dillydallying. Out of the total 196 kilometres of road of the Karnali Corridor project, 66 kilometers has already been completed.</p>

<p>The construction works started gaining momentum after the Nepalese Army took over the construction work. The 33-kilometre road section from Kalikot&rsquo;s Lalighat to Ghataparichaur and another 33-kilometre road section from Bajura&rsquo;s Ratadanda to Arthugechaur have been completed so far.</p>

<p>The Nepalese Army&rsquo;s construction division informed that vehicles can be operated in the 66-kilometer road which lies in between Kalokot&rsquo;s Khulalu to Humla&rsquo;s Simikot.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We are yet to blast the rocks in a four-kilometer stretch between Bhukkakhola to Tolibhir,&rdquo; said the Nepalese Army&rsquo;s in-charge Indiwar Gurung.</p>

<p>Of late, the Nepalese Army has expedited the construction work which had remained stalled in the past ten years. According to the army sources, they are planning to complete the construction works within the deadline given to them.</p>

<p>Humla is the only district which is yet to be connected to the national network of roads.</p>

<p>Nepal Rastra Bank has instructed revenue collection offices as well as bank and financial institutions to remain open on the last Saturday of certain months to ensure that the revenue collection does not get affected. The central bank issued such instruction as per the decision taken by the Ministry of Finance on September 17 to help the Revenue Management Division collect taxes during the Nepali months of Asoj, Poush, Chaitra and Asar.</p>

<p>Following the NRB instruction, the concerned government offices and BFIs will have to remain open during public holidays and on Saturdays during the last week of every third month of the fiscal year from now onwards.</p>

The discussion session, which was chaired by Open Space Network founder Faija Parween and moderated by Suraj Raj Pandey, networking head of Clock b Innovation, saw the presence of more than 40 people including students, youths, representatives from startups and business enthusiasts.</p>

<p>Speaking at the event, Faija urged the youths to come up with new business ideas as the Nepali market is still growing.</p>

<p>&lsquo;X-Preneur&rsquo; is a free event tailored for business aspirants and aspiring entrepreneurs, primarily designed for networking and idea sharing with upcoming entrepreneurs.</p>

<p>Such event is organised once in every 15 days at Kaffe Codes in Thapathali.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The event will help the attendants to get strong knowledge about the startup community. The platform is solely designed for youths, students, business enthusiasts, and fresh graduates, to interact with and learn from the entrepreneurs having relevant market knowledge and experience,&rdquo; according to the organisers.</p>

<p>Indus Heritage Trust (Pakistan)&rsquo;s Chairperson Malik said, &ldquo;In South Asia, we have a common culture, a same thread that goes around. But it is so difficult for artisans and products to move in and out the country. We need to find common solutions to these common problems.&rdquo;</p>

<p>According to Asian Heritage Foundation (India) Executive Director Seth, South Asia is home to a quarter of the global population, and the region&rsquo;s craft industry has a potential to revitalize the economy of South Asia.</p>

<p>The second panel of the day brought together gender and social economist Dr Bina Pradhan, Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Association Nepal (FWEAN)&rsquo;s first Vice President Reeta Simha and prominent women entrepreneur Shyam Badan Shrestha to discuss women entrepreneurship. The discussion was moderated by Sangeeta Thapa, executive director of Siddhartha Arty Gallery.</p>

<p>Dr Pradhan said that it is difficult to add rural women entrepreneurs to value chains,&nbsp; so policy makers and programmers need to make a concerted effort.</p>

<p>FWEAN&rsquo;s Simha said, &ldquo;We have skills, but what we lack is technology, so we need to focus on technology development.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Woman entrepreneur Shrestha said, &ldquo;During the blockade of 1990, we realized that we have raw materials in abundance, but we must learn how you can use them.&rdquo;</p>

<p>More than 100 Nepali artisans from rural, excluded and conflict-affected communities are showcasing and selling their products in the festival, which concludes on Sunday, January 14.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The commencement of the Nepal China Cross Border Optical Fiber Link and the IP services over it is unprecedented, as it is a new direct alternative route for traffic demand generated from Nepal to all over the world, and which provides better quality of service and low latency solution for end users in Nepal,&rdquo; reads the statement.</p>

<p>The Nepal China Cross Border Optical Fiber Link and the IP services was inaugurated amid a function held at the Nepal Telecom office, Kathmandu.</p>

<p>Inaugurating the service, Minister for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet said, &ldquo;Commercialization of Nepal-China Optical Fiber Link is a major milestone for development of Internet Infrastructure in Nepal.&rdquo;</p>

<p>&nbsp;He also stressed on excellent and growing relation between the two neighboring countries. He further said that the operation of Nepal-China direct cross-border link shall prove to be a turning point for Nepal.</p>

<p>Speaking on the occasion, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong said that the cable will not only shorten the network latency, but also bring the two countries more closer to each other. She stated that the commercial operation of Nepal China Optical-fiber link marks a new connectivity between the two.</p>

<p>Inaugurating the 18<sup>th</sup> general assembly of AAN, Minister for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet said that the government is preparing to implement &lsquo;clean feed&rsquo; policy in the communication sector. The minister said that the clean feed policy was supposed to be implemented from the start of the current fiscal year but was stalled due to various reasons. He further said that the policy will be implemented soon.</p>

<p>The construction of road from Kalikot to Humla has gained pace after almost a decade of dillydallying. Out of the total 196 kilometres of road of the Karnali Corridor project, 66 kilometers has already been completed.</p>

<p>The construction works started gaining momentum after the Nepalese Army took over the construction work. The 33-kilometre road section from Kalikot&rsquo;s Lalighat to Ghataparichaur and another 33-kilometre road section from Bajura&rsquo;s Ratadanda to Arthugechaur have been completed so far.</p>

<p>The Nepalese Army&rsquo;s construction division informed that vehicles can be operated in the 66-kilometer road which lies in between Kalokot&rsquo;s Khulalu to Humla&rsquo;s Simikot.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We are yet to blast the rocks in a four-kilometer stretch between Bhukkakhola to Tolibhir,&rdquo; said the Nepalese Army&rsquo;s in-charge Indiwar Gurung.</p>

<p>Of late, the Nepalese Army has expedited the construction work which had remained stalled in the past ten years. According to the army sources, they are planning to complete the construction works within the deadline given to them.</p>

<p>Humla is the only district which is yet to be connected to the national network of roads.</p>

<p>Nepal Rastra Bank has instructed revenue collection offices as well as bank and financial institutions to remain open on the last Saturday of certain months to ensure that the revenue collection does not get affected. The central bank issued such instruction as per the decision taken by the Ministry of Finance on September 17 to help the Revenue Management Division collect taxes during the Nepali months of Asoj, Poush, Chaitra and Asar.</p>

<p>Following the NRB instruction, the concerned government offices and BFIs will have to remain open during public holidays and on Saturdays during the last week of every third month of the fiscal year from now onwards.</p>

<p>The AGM also approved the audited balance sheet and NFRS balance sheet for last fiscal year.</p>

<p>The bank said it also released the first annual book named &ldquo;Pratibimb&rdquo; to mark its 23rd anniversary.</p>

<p>During the plenary discussion moderated by ex-National Planning Commission (NPC) member Bimala Rai, PAF Nepal&rsquo;s Executive Director KC said, &ldquo;Development of Handicraft industry can generate jobs, encouraging youths to explore livelihood options within Nepal.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Indus Heritage Trust (Pakistan)&rsquo;s Chairperson Malik said, &ldquo;In South Asia, we have a common culture, a same thread that goes around. But it is so difficult for artisans and products to move in and out the country. We need to find common solutions to these common problems.&rdquo;</p>

<p>According to Asian Heritage Foundation (India) Executive Director Seth, South Asia is home to a quarter of the global population, and the region&rsquo;s craft industry has a potential to revitalize the economy of South Asia.</p>

<p>The second panel of the day brought together gender and social economist Dr Bina Pradhan, Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Association Nepal (FWEAN)&rsquo;s first Vice President Reeta Simha and prominent women entrepreneur Shyam Badan Shrestha to discuss women entrepreneurship. The discussion was moderated by Sangeeta Thapa, executive director of Siddhartha Arty Gallery.</p>

<p>Dr Pradhan said that it is difficult to add rural women entrepreneurs to value chains,&nbsp; so policy makers and programmers need to make a concerted effort.</p>

<p>FWEAN&rsquo;s Simha said, &ldquo;We have skills, but what we lack is technology, so we need to focus on technology development.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Woman entrepreneur Shrestha said, &ldquo;During the blockade of 1990, we realized that we have raw materials in abundance, but we must learn how you can use them.&rdquo;</p>

<p>More than 100 Nepali artisans from rural, excluded and conflict-affected communities are showcasing and selling their products in the festival, which concludes on Sunday, January 14.</p>

<p>Inaugurating the service, Minister for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet said, &ldquo;Commercialization of Nepal-China Optical Fiber Link is a major milestone for development of Internet Infrastructure in Nepal.&rdquo;</p>

<p>&nbsp;He also stressed on excellent and growing relation between the two neighboring countries. He further said that the operation of Nepal-China direct cross-border link shall prove to be a turning point for Nepal.</p>

<p>Speaking on the occasion, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong said that the cable will not only shorten the network latency, but also bring the two countries more closer to each other. She stated that the commercial operation of Nepal China Optical-fiber link marks a new connectivity between the two.</p>

<p>Likewise, the general assembly unanimously elected Som Prasad Dhital as senior vice president, Narayan Kumar Shrestha as first vice president and Dharmendra Kaji Shrestha as second vice president in the new executive committee.</p>

<p>Raju Kuikel was elected as the general secretary unopposed while Krishna Prasad Ghimire was elected as secretary of AAN while Pankaj Pradhan was elected deputy treasurer unopposed.</p>

<p>Rodhan Prasain, Ramesh Puri, Bishal Purush Dhakal, Arun Kaji Sthapit, Kiran Gaire and Santosh Khadka have been elected as the executive committee members.</p>

<p>Inaugurating the 18<sup>th</sup> general assembly of AAN, Minister for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet said that the government is preparing to implement &lsquo;clean feed&rsquo; policy in the communication sector. The minister said that the clean feed policy was supposed to be implemented from the start of the current fiscal year but was stalled due to various reasons. He further said that the policy will be implemented soon.</p>

<p>The construction of road from Kalikot to Humla has gained pace after almost a decade of dillydallying. Out of the total 196 kilometres of road of the Karnali Corridor project, 66 kilometers has already been completed.</p>

<p>The construction works started gaining momentum after the Nepalese Army took over the construction work. The 33-kilometre road section from Kalikot&rsquo;s Lalighat to Ghataparichaur and another 33-kilometre road section from Bajura&rsquo;s Ratadanda to Arthugechaur have been completed so far.</p>

<p>The Nepalese Army&rsquo;s construction division informed that vehicles can be operated in the 66-kilometer road which lies in between Kalokot&rsquo;s Khulalu to Humla&rsquo;s Simikot.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We are yet to blast the rocks in a four-kilometer stretch between Bhukkakhola to Tolibhir,&rdquo; said the Nepalese Army&rsquo;s in-charge Indiwar Gurung.</p>

<p>Of late, the Nepalese Army has expedited the construction work which had remained stalled in the past ten years. According to the army sources, they are planning to complete the construction works within the deadline given to them.</p>

<p>Humla is the only district which is yet to be connected to the national network of roads.</p>

<p>Nepal Rastra Bank has instructed revenue collection offices as well as bank and financial institutions to remain open on the last Saturday of certain months to ensure that the revenue collection does not get affected. The central bank issued such instruction as per the decision taken by the Ministry of Finance on September 17 to help the Revenue Management Division collect taxes during the Nepali months of Asoj, Poush, Chaitra and Asar.</p>

<p>Following the NRB instruction, the concerned government offices and BFIs will have to remain open during public holidays and on Saturdays during the last week of every third month of the fiscal year from now onwards.</p>

<p>Asian Life Insurance Company&rsquo;s Assistant General Manager Bijay Parajuli informed that the company has been providing tuition fees to 38 children who lost one of their parents who had purchased insurance policy.</p>
