<p>Rabindra Prasad Shrestha, chairman of Shangri-La Development Bank, had presented the financial report of the bank during the annual general meeting. The meeting also passed the balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and various financial details of the bank.</p>

<p>The bank informed that it will now have a total paid-up capital of Rs 2.5 billion after the distribution of bonus share and cash dividend.</p>

<p>According to Adhikari strategic and management partner is very essential for the improvement of the NAC. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Dhan Bahadur Budha, state minister for tourism, requested NAC to expand its destination and compete with both national and international level airlines before buying additional aircraft. He informed that NAC should also focus on extending its services to rural areas of the country.</p>

<p>Saugat Ratna Kansakar, managing director of NAC, informed that the airlines will start to expand its market at the international level with the arrival of new aircraft.</p>

<p>NAC&#39;s Director Janak Raj Kalakheti and Spokesperson Rabindra Shrestha informed that the road ahead is filled with opportunities and challenges and the airline has to overcome all odds.</p>

<p>Similarly, Subash Dangi, chairman of trade union of NAC informed that the airline is in profit and the government should address the problems it has been facing due to the past losses faced by the airline.</p>

<p>Other international airlines which started their operation together with NAC have already achieved milestone and are currently operating their flights across the world with numerous aircraft but we hardly have our own 13 aircraft, Dangi added.</p>

<p>A division bench of justices Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada and Bom Kumar Shrestha issued the verdict noting irregularities in the criteria for construction of private and public structures. According to the court order, &ldquo;It has become necessary to review the current criteria of construction work and adopt internationally accredited code of conduct for construction and effectively implement it.&rdquo;</p>

<p>The Supreme Court had issued the court order in response to a writ petition filed by engineer and advocate Dinesh Chaudhary claiming that most of the buildings of Kathmandu and other places were partially or fully damaged by the earthquake because of weak structures and lack of implementation of internationally accredited construction criteria.</p>

<p>Currently, Building Act, 2055 and Engineering Council Act, 2055 are being implemented in Nepal. The writ petition has mentioned the ineffective implementation of these acts. The effective implementation of the laws was demanded in the writ petition.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Here in Kathmandu, human rights activists along with Amnesty Nepal members began their rally at 9 am from Narayan Gopal Chowk, Chakrapath and traversed to Teaching Hospital via the US Embassy. The rally later converged into a gathering outside the embassy where Amnesty International Nepal Chair Rajan Kuikel criticised Trump&rsquo;s immigration policy and demanded improvements in it. Kuikel and Director Nirajan Thapaliya then handed over a memorandum to the US Embassy.</p>

<p>Amnesty International said it has been protesting the Trump administration&rsquo;s policy of separating children from their parents when crossing the southern border from Mexico. It has already collected more than 100,000 signatures on petitions asking the US government to stop this practice. Amnesty Ireland, Canada, and Sweden are all taking actions to hold the Trump administration accountable.</p>

<p>&quot;People all around the world are still outraged about the practices of family separation and detention, despite the recent Executive Order. The Executive Order does nothing to reunify families, still leaves open the possibility of separating families, and mandates the detention of children with their parents instead,&quot; the statement said.</p>

This was one of the main questions put forth by Pramila Bajracharya Thapa, founder of Hope Hermitage Nepal (HHN), at a recent movie screening program and panel discussion at Hall 3 of Big Cinema Hall, Kathmandu, to sensitize audiences on AD, and care for the elderly suffering from AD and dementia. HHN said in a statement it facilitates, cares, supports, and motivates senior citizens to live a healthy and fulfilling social life.<br />
AD, an irreversible chronic neurodegenerative disease, is the major cause of dementia, which gradually leads to the loss of other cognitive functions. The most common early symptom is short-term memory loss, and can include problems with speech, language, movement, orientation, mood swings, motivation, self-care, and behavioral issues.<br />
The one-day national consultation with&nbsp; non-commercial, movie screening and panel discussion was organized on June 28 by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens (MoWCSW), HHN, and HAI, with support from World Health Organization (WHO) &ndash; Nepal, and saw the presence of honorary members from the ministry, medical professionals, teachers, students, AD patients, senior citizens, NGO representatives and film personalities such as veteran comedian and actor Madan Krishna Shrestha.<br />
The English feature, Life Flows On, produced and directed by Vishaal Nityanand and starring veteran Tom Alter, was dedicated to the psychological and emotional challenges faced by AD patients and their loved ones.&nbsp;<br />
&ldquo;Theatres usually show dumbfounding movies, but today we saw something special and informative&rdquo;, stated Nirmal KC, president of Tewa (an NGO supporting women to transform discriminatory policies and practices), while Thapa added, &ldquo;This approach of film screening and discussion prepares us by illustrating the daily lifestyle of dementia patients and their caretakers, which is often hidden, not spoken, and/or ignored in Nepali society.&rdquo;<br />
The screening was held for two groups &ndash; teachers and students, and medical professionals. &ldquo;Dementia and AD is not in my school curriculum&rdquo; states 17-year old Yunish Rai, who had just completed his A-Levels from Orient College. The movie was an eye-opener for him, while 20-year old Ashmita Karki who did study AD in her nursing curriculum stated, &ldquo;What I had in mind was all theoretical. I got to learn nuances from the movie.&rdquo;</p>

<p>HHN estimates that there are 2.5 million elderly inhabitants at present in Nepal which is steadily growing. The Alzheimer&rsquo;s Disease International estimated that there were 78,000 people with dementia in Nepal in 2015, which is expected to rise to 1,34,000 in 2030, and by 2050, the numbers will increase to 2,85,000.</p>

<p>&ldquo;AD is still a new term in Nepali society, and there is no word for it in the Nepali language,&rdquo; states Shakuntala Prajapati, a teacher from Bir Hospital Nursing College, and adds that the symptoms are still taken to be a normal part of ageing. She elaborates that more discussions are required to change policies.<br />
The panel discussion with prominent stakeholders in AD was the highlight of the event. Panelists Dr RR Panthee (Management Division, Department of Health Services, MoHP), Dr Kedar Marahatta (Mental Health Focal Point at WHO &ndash; Nepal), Dr Nidesh Sapkota (Professor and Geriatric Psychiatrist), Dr Ramesh Kandel (Geriatric Medicine Physician in Patan Hospital), Pradesh K Rai (Programme Representative for Nepal, HAI Nepal), Krishna Murari Gautam (President of the Aging Nepal), provided significant, new information, and answered queries on improving care and support services for people with AD and dementia, and their loved ones.<br />
Potential collaborations also formed on the event. &ldquo;To address the gamut of the problem, let&rsquo;s make a Nepali film&rdquo;, suggested Rajendra Bahadur Shrestha, from the Rotary International, and stated that Rotary International has the funds to make it possible with the help of the concerned ministry.<br />
Panelists stressed that dementia is not a part of ageing, and not a death sentence. Dr Marahatta closed the event stating that trainings on identification and screening of dementia along with other priority mental health conditions has started from few districts, and that WHO website also has an iSupport link that provides more information on how to take care of AD patients and themselves.&nbsp;<br />
AD and dementia were also agreed as a public health priority in the recent 71st World Health Assembly at Geneva, and endorsed the Global Action Plan on the Public Health Response to Dementia (2017-2025). WHO would now follow-up with the member states with various indicators on their action plans with the disorder.</p>

<p>NAC&#39;s Director Janak Raj Kalakheti and Spokesperson Rabindra Shrestha informed that the road ahead is filled with opportunities and challenges and the airline has to overcome all odds.</p>

<p>Similarly, Subash Dangi, chairman of trade union of NAC informed that the airline is in profit and the government should address the problems it has been facing due to the past losses faced by the airline.</p>

<p>Other international airlines which started their operation together with NAC have already achieved milestone and are currently operating their flights across the world with numerous aircraft but we hardly have our own 13 aircraft, Dangi added.</p>

<p>The Supreme Court had issued the court order in response to a writ petition filed by engineer and advocate Dinesh Chaudhary claiming that most of the buildings of Kathmandu and other places were partially or fully damaged by the earthquake because of weak structures and lack of implementation of internationally accredited construction criteria.</p>

<p>Currently, Building Act, 2055 and Engineering Council Act, 2055 are being implemented in Nepal. The writ petition has mentioned the ineffective implementation of these acts. The effective implementation of the laws was demanded in the writ petition.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Amnesty International said in a statement that it marked June 30 as the Global Day of Action against this &lsquo;inhumane&rsquo; practice by organising mass demonstrations at the White House in Washington DC and the US embassies in different parts of the world.</p>

<p>Here in Kathmandu, human rights activists along with Amnesty Nepal members began their rally at 9 am from Narayan Gopal Chowk, Chakrapath and traversed to Teaching Hospital via the US Embassy. The rally later converged into a gathering outside the embassy where Amnesty International Nepal Chair Rajan Kuikel criticised Trump&rsquo;s immigration policy and demanded improvements in it. Kuikel and Director Nirajan Thapaliya then handed over a memorandum to the US Embassy.</p>

<p>Amnesty International said it has been protesting the Trump administration&rsquo;s policy of separating children from their parents when crossing the southern border from Mexico. It has already collected more than 100,000 signatures on petitions asking the US government to stop this practice. Amnesty Ireland, Canada, and Sweden are all taking actions to hold the Trump administration accountable.</p>

<p>&quot;People all around the world are still outraged about the practices of family separation and detention, despite the recent Executive Order. The Executive Order does nothing to reunify families, still leaves open the possibility of separating families, and mandates the detention of children with their parents instead,&quot; the statement said.</p>

This was one of the main questions put forth by Pramila Bajracharya Thapa, founder of Hope Hermitage Nepal (HHN), at a recent movie screening program and panel discussion at Hall 3 of Big Cinema Hall, Kathmandu, to sensitize audiences on AD, and care for the elderly suffering from AD and dementia. HHN said in a statement it facilitates, cares, supports, and motivates senior citizens to live a healthy and fulfilling social life.<br />
AD, an irreversible chronic neurodegenerative disease, is the major cause of dementia, which gradually leads to the loss of other cognitive functions. The most common early symptom is short-term memory loss, and can include problems with speech, language, movement, orientation, mood swings, motivation, self-care, and behavioral issues.<br />
The one-day national consultation with&nbsp; non-commercial, movie screening and panel discussion was organized on June 28 by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens (MoWCSW), HHN, and HAI, with support from World Health Organization (WHO) &ndash; Nepal, and saw the presence of honorary members from the ministry, medical professionals, teachers, students, AD patients, senior citizens, NGO representatives and film personalities such as veteran comedian and actor Madan Krishna Shrestha.<br />
The English feature, Life Flows On, produced and directed by Vishaal Nityanand and starring veteran Tom Alter, was dedicated to the psychological and emotional challenges faced by AD patients and their loved ones.&nbsp;<br />
&ldquo;Theatres usually show dumbfounding movies, but today we saw something special and informative&rdquo;, stated Nirmal KC, president of Tewa (an NGO supporting women to transform discriminatory policies and practices), while Thapa added, &ldquo;This approach of film screening and discussion prepares us by illustrating the daily lifestyle of dementia patients and their caretakers, which is often hidden, not spoken, and/or ignored in Nepali society.&rdquo;<br />
The screening was held for two groups &ndash; teachers and students, and medical professionals. &ldquo;Dementia and AD is not in my school curriculum&rdquo; states 17-year old Yunish Rai, who had just completed his A-Levels from Orient College. The movie was an eye-opener for him, while 20-year old Ashmita Karki who did study AD in her nursing curriculum stated, &ldquo;What I had in mind was all theoretical. I got to learn nuances from the movie.&rdquo;</p>

<p>HHN estimates that there are 2.5 million elderly inhabitants at present in Nepal which is steadily growing. The Alzheimer&rsquo;s Disease International estimated that there were 78,000 people with dementia in Nepal in 2015, which is expected to rise to 1,34,000 in 2030, and by 2050, the numbers will increase to 2,85,000.</p>

<p>&ldquo;AD is still a new term in Nepali society, and there is no word for it in the Nepali language,&rdquo; states Shakuntala Prajapati, a teacher from Bir Hospital Nursing College, and adds that the symptoms are still taken to be a normal part of ageing. She elaborates that more discussions are required to change policies.<br />
The panel discussion with prominent stakeholders in AD was the highlight of the event. Panelists Dr RR Panthee (Management Division, Department of Health Services, MoHP), Dr Kedar Marahatta (Mental Health Focal Point at WHO &ndash; Nepal), Dr Nidesh Sapkota (Professor and Geriatric Psychiatrist), Dr Ramesh Kandel (Geriatric Medicine Physician in Patan Hospital), Pradesh K Rai (Programme Representative for Nepal, HAI Nepal), Krishna Murari Gautam (President of the Aging Nepal), provided significant, new information, and answered queries on improving care and support services for people with AD and dementia, and their loved ones.<br />
Potential collaborations also formed on the event. &ldquo;To address the gamut of the problem, let&rsquo;s make a Nepali film&rdquo;, suggested Rajendra Bahadur Shrestha, from the Rotary International, and stated that Rotary International has the funds to make it possible with the help of the concerned ministry.<br />
Panelists stressed that dementia is not a part of ageing, and not a death sentence. Dr Marahatta closed the event stating that trainings on identification and screening of dementia along with other priority mental health conditions has started from few districts, and that WHO website also has an iSupport link that provides more information on how to take care of AD patients and themselves.&nbsp;<br />
AD and dementia were also agreed as a public health priority in the recent 71st World Health Assembly at Geneva, and endorsed the Global Action Plan on the Public Health Response to Dementia (2017-2025). WHO would now follow-up with the member states with various indicators on their action plans with the disorder.</p>

<p>NAC&#39;s Director Janak Raj Kalakheti and Spokesperson Rabindra Shrestha informed that the road ahead is filled with opportunities and challenges and the airline has to overcome all odds.</p>

<p>Similarly, Subash Dangi, chairman of trade union of NAC informed that the airline is in profit and the government should address the problems it has been facing due to the past losses faced by the airline.</p>

<p>Other international airlines which started their operation together with NAC have already achieved milestone and are currently operating their flights across the world with numerous aircraft but we hardly have our own 13 aircraft, Dangi added.</p>

<p>The Supreme Court had issued the court order in response to a writ petition filed by engineer and advocate Dinesh Chaudhary claiming that most of the buildings of Kathmandu and other places were partially or fully damaged by the earthquake because of weak structures and lack of implementation of internationally accredited construction criteria.</p>

<p>Currently, Building Act, 2055 and Engineering Council Act, 2055 are being implemented in Nepal. The writ petition has mentioned the ineffective implementation of these acts. The effective implementation of the laws was demanded in the writ petition.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Here in Kathmandu, human rights activists along with Amnesty Nepal members began their rally at 9 am from Narayan Gopal Chowk, Chakrapath and traversed to Teaching Hospital via the US Embassy. The rally later converged into a gathering outside the embassy where Amnesty International Nepal Chair Rajan Kuikel criticised Trump&rsquo;s immigration policy and demanded improvements in it. Kuikel and Director Nirajan Thapaliya then handed over a memorandum to the US Embassy.</p>

<p>Amnesty International said it has been protesting the Trump administration&rsquo;s policy of separating children from their parents when crossing the southern border from Mexico. It has already collected more than 100,000 signatures on petitions asking the US government to stop this practice. Amnesty Ireland, Canada, and Sweden are all taking actions to hold the Trump administration accountable.</p>

<p>&quot;People all around the world are still outraged about the practices of family separation and detention, despite the recent Executive Order. The Executive Order does nothing to reunify families, still leaves open the possibility of separating families, and mandates the detention of children with their parents instead,&quot; the statement said.</p>

This was one of the main questions put forth by Pramila Bajracharya Thapa, founder of Hope Hermitage Nepal (HHN), at a recent movie screening program and panel discussion at Hall 3 of Big Cinema Hall, Kathmandu, to sensitize audiences on AD, and care for the elderly suffering from AD and dementia. HHN said in a statement it facilitates, cares, supports, and motivates senior citizens to live a healthy and fulfilling social life.<br />
AD, an irreversible chronic neurodegenerative disease, is the major cause of dementia, which gradually leads to the loss of other cognitive functions. The most common early symptom is short-term memory loss, and can include problems with speech, language, movement, orientation, mood swings, motivation, self-care, and behavioral issues.<br />
The one-day national consultation with&nbsp; non-commercial, movie screening and panel discussion was organized on June 28 by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens (MoWCSW), HHN, and HAI, with support from World Health Organization (WHO) &ndash; Nepal, and saw the presence of honorary members from the ministry, medical professionals, teachers, students, AD patients, senior citizens, NGO representatives and film personalities such as veteran comedian and actor Madan Krishna Shrestha.<br />
The English feature, Life Flows On, produced and directed by Vishaal Nityanand and starring veteran Tom Alter, was dedicated to the psychological and emotional challenges faced by AD patients and their loved ones.&nbsp;<br />
&ldquo;Theatres usually show dumbfounding movies, but today we saw something special and informative&rdquo;, stated Nirmal KC, president of Tewa (an NGO supporting women to transform discriminatory policies and practices), while Thapa added, &ldquo;This approach of film screening and discussion prepares us by illustrating the daily lifestyle of dementia patients and their caretakers, which is often hidden, not spoken, and/or ignored in Nepali society.&rdquo;<br />
The screening was held for two groups &ndash; teachers and students, and medical professionals. &ldquo;Dementia and AD is not in my school curriculum&rdquo; states 17-year old Yunish Rai, who had just completed his A-Levels from Orient College. The movie was an eye-opener for him, while 20-year old Ashmita Karki who did study AD in her nursing curriculum stated, &ldquo;What I had in mind was all theoretical. I got to learn nuances from the movie.&rdquo;</p>

<p>HHN estimates that there are 2.5 million elderly inhabitants at present in Nepal which is steadily growing. The Alzheimer&rsquo;s Disease International estimated that there were 78,000 people with dementia in Nepal in 2015, which is expected to rise to 1,34,000 in 2030, and by 2050, the numbers will increase to 2,85,000.</p>

<p>&ldquo;AD is still a new term in Nepali society, and there is no word for it in the Nepali language,&rdquo; states Shakuntala Prajapati, a teacher from Bir Hospital Nursing College, and adds that the symptoms are still taken to be a normal part of ageing. She elaborates that more discussions are required to change policies.<br />
The panel discussion with prominent stakeholders in AD was the highlight of the event. Panelists Dr RR Panthee (Management Division, Department of Health Services, MoHP), Dr Kedar Marahatta (Mental Health Focal Point at WHO &ndash; Nepal), Dr Nidesh Sapkota (Professor and Geriatric Psychiatrist), Dr Ramesh Kandel (Geriatric Medicine Physician in Patan Hospital), Pradesh K Rai (Programme Representative for Nepal, HAI Nepal), Krishna Murari Gautam (President of the Aging Nepal), provided significant, new information, and answered queries on improving care and support services for people with AD and dementia, and their loved ones.<br />
Potential collaborations also formed on the event. &ldquo;To address the gamut of the problem, let&rsquo;s make a Nepali film&rdquo;, suggested Rajendra Bahadur Shrestha, from the Rotary International, and stated that Rotary International has the funds to make it possible with the help of the concerned ministry.<br />
Panelists stressed that dementia is not a part of ageing, and not a death sentence. Dr Marahatta closed the event stating that trainings on identification and screening of dementia along with other priority mental health conditions has started from few districts, and that WHO website also has an iSupport link that provides more information on how to take care of AD patients and themselves.&nbsp;<br />
AD and dementia were also agreed as a public health priority in the recent 71st World Health Assembly at Geneva, and endorsed the Global Action Plan on the Public Health Response to Dementia (2017-2025). WHO would now follow-up with the member states with various indicators on their action plans with the disorder.</p>

<p>NAC&#39;s Director Janak Raj Kalakheti and Spokesperson Rabindra Shrestha informed that the road ahead is filled with opportunities and challenges and the airline has to overcome all odds.</p>

<p>Similarly, Subash Dangi, chairman of trade union of NAC informed that the airline is in profit and the government should address the problems it has been facing due to the past losses faced by the airline.</p>

<p>Other international airlines which started their operation together with NAC have already achieved milestone and are currently operating their flights across the world with numerous aircraft but we hardly have our own 13 aircraft, Dangi added.</p>

<p>Currently, Building Act, 2055 and Engineering Council Act, 2055 are being implemented in Nepal. The writ petition has mentioned the ineffective implementation of these acts. The effective implementation of the laws was demanded in the writ petition.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On the occasion, Bijay Kumar Sarawagi, mayor of Birgunj Metropolitan City said that the achievement of the college is the pride of the whole Birgunj. &nbsp;He praised the college saying that it has contributed a lot to the education sector. He claimed that political meddling has been hampering the education sector. The mayor expressed his commitment to eliminate such unnecessary political interference in the sector.</p>

<p>Entrepreneur and political analyst Jagadish Prasad Agrawal has the initiative of New Business Age in identifying business colleges of the country.</p>

<p>Here in Kathmandu, human rights activists along with Amnesty Nepal members began their rally at 9 am from Narayan Gopal Chowk, Chakrapath and traversed to Teaching Hospital via the US Embassy. The rally later converged into a gathering outside the embassy where Amnesty International Nepal Chair Rajan Kuikel criticised Trump&rsquo;s immigration policy and demanded improvements in it. Kuikel and Director Nirajan Thapaliya then handed over a memorandum to the US Embassy.</p>

<p>Amnesty International said it has been protesting the Trump administration&rsquo;s policy of separating children from their parents when crossing the southern border from Mexico. It has already collected more than 100,000 signatures on petitions asking the US government to stop this practice. Amnesty Ireland, Canada, and Sweden are all taking actions to hold the Trump administration accountable.</p>

<p>&quot;People all around the world are still outraged about the practices of family separation and detention, despite the recent Executive Order. The Executive Order does nothing to reunify families, still leaves open the possibility of separating families, and mandates the detention of children with their parents instead,&quot; the statement said.</p>

This was one of the main questions put forth by Pramila Bajracharya Thapa, founder of Hope Hermitage Nepal (HHN), at a recent movie screening program and panel discussion at Hall 3 of Big Cinema Hall, Kathmandu, to sensitize audiences on AD, and care for the elderly suffering from AD and dementia. HHN said in a statement it facilitates, cares, supports, and motivates senior citizens to live a healthy and fulfilling social life.<br />
AD, an irreversible chronic neurodegenerative disease, is the major cause of dementia, which gradually leads to the loss of other cognitive functions. The most common early symptom is short-term memory loss, and can include problems with speech, language, movement, orientation, mood swings, motivation, self-care, and behavioral issues.<br />
The one-day national consultation with&nbsp; non-commercial, movie screening and panel discussion was organized on June 28 by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens (MoWCSW), HHN, and HAI, with support from World Health Organization (WHO) &ndash; Nepal, and saw the presence of honorary members from the ministry, medical professionals, teachers, students, AD patients, senior citizens, NGO representatives and film personalities such as veteran comedian and actor Madan Krishna Shrestha.<br />
The English feature, Life Flows On, produced and directed by Vishaal Nityanand and starring veteran Tom Alter, was dedicated to the psychological and emotional challenges faced by AD patients and their loved ones.&nbsp;<br />
&ldquo;Theatres usually show dumbfounding movies, but today we saw something special and informative&rdquo;, stated Nirmal KC, president of Tewa (an NGO supporting women to transform discriminatory policies and practices), while Thapa added, &ldquo;This approach of film screening and discussion prepares us by illustrating the daily lifestyle of dementia patients and their caretakers, which is often hidden, not spoken, and/or ignored in Nepali society.&rdquo;<br />
The screening was held for two groups &ndash; teachers and students, and medical professionals. &ldquo;Dementia and AD is not in my school curriculum&rdquo; states 17-year old Yunish Rai, who had just completed his A-Levels from Orient College. The movie was an eye-opener for him, while 20-year old Ashmita Karki who did study AD in her nursing curriculum stated, &ldquo;What I had in mind was all theoretical. I got to learn nuances from the movie.&rdquo;</p>

<p>HHN estimates that there are 2.5 million elderly inhabitants at present in Nepal which is steadily growing. The Alzheimer&rsquo;s Disease International estimated that there were 78,000 people with dementia in Nepal in 2015, which is expected to rise to 1,34,000 in 2030, and by 2050, the numbers will increase to 2,85,000.</p>

<p>&ldquo;AD is still a new term in Nepali society, and there is no word for it in the Nepali language,&rdquo; states Shakuntala Prajapati, a teacher from Bir Hospital Nursing College, and adds that the symptoms are still taken to be a normal part of ageing. She elaborates that more discussions are required to change policies.<br />
The panel discussion with prominent stakeholders in AD was the highlight of the event. Panelists Dr RR Panthee (Management Division, Department of Health Services, MoHP), Dr Kedar Marahatta (Mental Health Focal Point at WHO &ndash; Nepal), Dr Nidesh Sapkota (Professor and Geriatric Psychiatrist), Dr Ramesh Kandel (Geriatric Medicine Physician in Patan Hospital), Pradesh K Rai (Programme Representative for Nepal, HAI Nepal), Krishna Murari Gautam (President of the Aging Nepal), provided significant, new information, and answered queries on improving care and support services for people with AD and dementia, and their loved ones.<br />
Potential collaborations also formed on the event. &ldquo;To address the gamut of the problem, let&rsquo;s make a Nepali film&rdquo;, suggested Rajendra Bahadur Shrestha, from the Rotary International, and stated that Rotary International has the funds to make it possible with the help of the concerned ministry.<br />
Panelists stressed that dementia is not a part of ageing, and not a death sentence. Dr Marahatta closed the event stating that trainings on identification and screening of dementia along with other priority mental health conditions has started from few districts, and that WHO website also has an iSupport link that provides more information on how to take care of AD patients and themselves.&nbsp;<br />
AD and dementia were also agreed as a public health priority in the recent 71st World Health Assembly at Geneva, and endorsed the Global Action Plan on the Public Health Response to Dementia (2017-2025). WHO would now follow-up with the member states with various indicators on their action plans with the disorder.</p>
