<p>The organization said in a statement that it is looking for innovative and creative solutions in resource-limited healthcare settings for a world free from the fear of untreatable infections.</p>

<p>Antibiotics are the cornerstone of many of the miracles of modern-day medicine from treating infections to preventing infections during cancer chemotherapy and organ donation. The loss of effective antibiotics would mean reverting to a time when simple infections were untreatable, the statement said.</p>

<p>The organization claimed that each year around 700,000 people die due to drug-resistant infections and if unchecked, this number may increase to 10 million deaths a year by 2050 &mdash; more than the number of people that die of cancer today.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Antibiotics should therefore be considered a resource to be used with care. Yet underuse, overuse and misuse of antibiotics are prevalent in many settings, from hospitals to outpatient clinics,&rdquo; the statement said.</p>

<p>AMR occurs when microbes develop resistance to the drugs we use to treat infections. With very few truly novel classes of antibiotics coming to market, global attention has focused particularly on antimicrobial drugs that treat bacterial infections. The more antibiotics are used, the greater the risk that bacterial resistance will develop. It is a global health emergency that will affect treatment worldwide.</p>

<p>There remains an urgent need for developing innovative, scalable approaches to address the challenge of conserving existing antibiotics, share expertise, and collaborate to generate solutions for a pressing issue that can have measurable impact in countries around the world, the statement further said.</p>

<p>According to the organization, the solutions proposed will be judged on the depth of understanding of the problem context; alignment and realism of the proposed strategy to the existing AMR related social and economic landscape of the chosen geographic area; technical and scientific soundness; basis on clinical evidence; potential for real-world and even long-lasting applicability and impact to the selected setting; financial and logistical feasibility and sustainability; and value added to the relevant stakeholders.</p>

<p>Teams are encouraged to involve multiple disciplines, including but not limited to medicine, public health, engineering, agriculture, supply chain, business management, and finance.</p>

<p>The competition&rsquo;s website provides educational resources, so no prior experience in working on AMR is needed. Teams should be composed of between 2 to 5 people. They are encouraged to draw from interdisciplinary talents and are even welcome to seek out members from around the world via Innovate4AMR Facebook pages. A team can only submit one proposal, but individual members can be in multiple teams.</p>

<p>Winners will attend a capacity building workshop in Geneva, Switzerland during the World Antibiotic Awareness Week, which will run from November 12-18 later this year.</p>

<p>Each winning team will be reimbursed for their travel expenses up to $5,000 for two members per team (additional team members may attend at their own expense) for flights, registration fees, lodging, and some group meals.</p>

<p>The deadline for registration of teams, and submission of proposals, is September 17.&nbsp; Winning teams will be informed on October 5 via email.</p>

<p>In the junior category, Tika Hang Limbu of Tower Temple Secondary School, Birtamode won the painting competition and Akashchandra Gautam of Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya, Pokhara finished first in 3-minutes-to-fame contest.&nbsp; Manish Rajak of GHP Secondary School, Birjung won the title of score the Real goal.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Dabur Nepal said its flagship brand, Real fruit juice, has been supporting various school-level activities and competitions for developing and nurturing talents and confidence of the school children. &ldquo;Real School of Nepal&rdquo; is a national level competition where schools from all over Nepal compete to become the Real School of Nepal, the company said in a statement.</p>

<p>Health ministers and senior officials from the 11 member countries are expected to participate in the 71<sup>st</sup> Session of the Regional Committee of WHO South-East Asia Region, the highest policy making body of WHO in the region.</p>

<p>WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO South-East Asia Regional Director Dr Poonam Khetrapal Singh, and WHO Deputy Director General Jane Elizabeth Ellison will be participating in the meeting, along with representatives of a number of partner organizations and civil society, according to WHO South-East Asia.</p>

<p>The meeting will deliberate on the existing and new opportunities for improving access to essential medicines, vaccines and medical products both within WHO South-East Asia Region and beyond, as one of the key initiatives towards universal health coverage.</p>

<p>With the region prone to disasters and public health emergencies, WHO and member countries will discuss strengthening of emergency medical teams, an important initiative to fortify response capacities.</p>

<p>To address the significant increase in dengue cases in recent years, health experts will discuss measures against all vector-borne diseases including chikungunya and zika.</p>

<p>Building on the momentum created in the region in recent years to eliminate malaria, the member countries will review key action points for further intensifying efforts to reduce its disease burden.</p>

<p>In addition, progress reports on promoting physical activity, intensifying routine immunization, improving civil registration and vital statistics and expanding the scope of the South-East Asia Regional Emergency Fund, would be made at the meeting.</p>

<p>The Regional Committee session is held annually and is hosted by one of the 11 member countries in the region or the WHO South-East Asia Regional Office. The session this year is being hosted by the WHO South-East Asia Regional Office.</p>

<p>Prashansha was selected from among the top six finalists in the competition including Bikalpa Dhungana&nbsp;(19 years, inventor, Tanahun),&nbsp;Deepshikha Ghimire&nbsp;(18 years, writer, Makwanpur),&nbsp;Saugat Tiwari&nbsp;(19 years, entrepreneur, Chitwan),&nbsp;Sudarshan Subedi&nbsp;(19 years, ecopreneur, Okhaldhunga), and&nbsp;Swornim Shrestha&nbsp;(17 years, social entrepreneur, Sindhupalchowk).</p>

<p>The organiser claimed that Glocal Teen Hero is the only national platform in Nepal to recognize and honor outstanding teenagers. It is a platform for Nepali teenagers to share their initiation, creativity, and enthusiasm which will then motivate them and more of the other teenagers in the nation to develop an entrepreneurial thinking, the statement further said .</p>

<p>This is the fourth edition of the program designed in the country to recognize dedicated, passionate, and innovative teenagers so as to encourage their initiatives.</p>

<p>Bipana Sharma, a 17-year old child rights activist from Sunwal, Nawalparasi, and Santosh Lamichhane, a robot inventor were felicitated during the first and second editions of Glocal Teen Hero in the years 2015 and 2016 respectively. <p>The organization said in a statement that it is looking for innovative and creative solutions in resource-limited healthcare settings for a world free from the fear of untreatable infections.</p>

<p>Antibiotics are the cornerstone of many of the miracles of modern-day medicine from treating infections to preventing infections during cancer chemotherapy and organ donation. The loss of effective antibiotics would mean reverting to a time when simple infections were untreatable, the statement said.</p>

<p>The organization claimed that each year around 700,000 people die due to drug-resistant infections and if unchecked, this number may increase to 10 million deaths a year by 2050 &mdash; more than the number of people that die of cancer today.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Antibiotics should therefore be considered a resource to be used with care. Yet underuse, overuse and misuse of antibiotics are prevalent in many settings, from hospitals to outpatient clinics,&rdquo; the statement said.</p>

<p>AMR occurs when microbes develop resistance to the drugs we use to treat infections. With very few truly novel classes of antibiotics coming to market, global attention has focused particularly on antimicrobial drugs that treat bacterial infections. The more antibiotics are used, the greater the risk that bacterial resistance will develop. It is a global health emergency that will affect treatment worldwide.</p>

<p>There remains an urgent need for developing innovative, scalable approaches to address the challenge of conserving existing antibiotics, share expertise, and collaborate to generate solutions for a pressing issue that can have measurable impact in countries around the world, the statement further said.</p>

<p>According to the organization, the solutions proposed will be judged on the depth of understanding of the problem context; alignment and realism of the proposed strategy to the existing AMR related social and economic landscape of the chosen geographic area; technical and scientific soundness; basis on clinical evidence; potential for real-world and even long-lasting applicability and impact to the selected setting; financial and logistical feasibility and sustainability; and value added to the relevant stakeholders.</p>

<p>Teams are encouraged to involve multiple disciplines, including but not limited to medicine, public health, engineering, agriculture, supply chain, business management, and finance.</p>

<p>The competition&rsquo;s website provides educational resources, so no prior experience in working on AMR is needed. Teams should be composed of between 2 to 5 people. They are encouraged to draw from interdisciplinary talents and are even welcome to seek out members from around the world via Innovate4AMR Facebook pages. A team can only submit one proposal, but individual members can be in multiple teams.</p>

<p>Winners will attend a capacity building workshop in Geneva, Switzerland during the World Antibiotic Awareness Week, which will run from November 12-18 later this year.</p>

<p>Each winning team will be reimbursed for their travel expenses up to $5,000 for two members per team (additional team members may attend at their own expense) for flights, registration fees, lodging, and some group meals.</p>

<p>The deadline for registration of teams, and submission of proposals, is September 17.&nbsp; Winning teams will be informed on October 5 via email.</p>

The army school won the grand finale held at Premier International School on Sunday, September 2. The participating students from the winning school were Sonia Karki, Simran Chhetri, Nischal Magar, Sabina Thapa, Jeevan Mahato and Pramesh Darai.</p>

<p>Galaxy Public School from Kathmandu East and GEMS from Lalitpur finished second and third respectively.</p>

<p>The army school received Rs 100,000 and each participating students from the winning school received a laptop. Similarly first runner-up and second runner-up schools received cash prize of Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 while their participating students got cash prize of Rs 5,000 each and Rs 3,000 each respectively, according to the organiser Dabur Nepal.</p>

<p>During the grand finale, Pushpika Thapa of GEMS won the extempore contest in the senior category. Likewise, Sumit Rajbhanshi of Jaya Bageshwari Secondary School, Nepalgunj won the dance competition while Divash Dangol of GEMS secured first position in football juggling.</p>

<p>In the junior category, Tika Hang Limbu of Tower Temple Secondary School, Birtamode won the painting competition and Akashchandra Gautam of Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya, Pokhara finished first in 3-minutes-to-fame contest.&nbsp; Manish Rajak of GHP Secondary School, Birjung won the title of score the Real goal.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Dabur Nepal said its flagship brand, Real fruit juice, has been supporting various school-level activities and competitions for developing and nurturing talents and confidence of the school children. &ldquo;Real School of Nepal&rdquo; is a national level competition where schools from all over Nepal compete to become the Real School of Nepal, the company said in a statement.</p>

<p>&#39;Real School of Nepal 2018&#39; commenced on June 6 and competitions were held in Eastern Region, Western Region, Central Region, Far Western Region and Mid Far Western Region to select the finalists. All the participating schools competed in the regional finals and the regional champions then competed in the grand finale. <p>With the region prone to disasters and public health emergencies, WHO and member countries will discuss strengthening of emergency medical teams, an important initiative to fortify response capacities.</p>

<p>To address the significant increase in dengue cases in recent years, health experts will discuss measures against all vector-borne diseases including chikungunya and zika.</p>

<p>Building on the momentum created in the region in recent years to eliminate malaria, the member countries will review key action points for further intensifying efforts to reduce its disease burden.</p>

<p>In addition, progress reports on promoting physical activity, intensifying routine immunization, improving civil registration and vital statistics and expanding the scope of the South-East Asia Regional Emergency Fund, would be made at the meeting.</p>

<p>The Regional Committee session is held annually and is hosted by one of the 11 member countries in the region or the WHO South-East Asia Regional Office. The session this year is being hosted by the WHO South-East Asia Regional Office.</p>

<p>The organization said in a statement that it is looking for innovative and creative solutions in resource-limited healthcare settings for a world free from the fear of untreatable infections.</p>

<p>Antibiotics are the cornerstone of many of the miracles of modern-day medicine from treating infections to preventing infections during cancer chemotherapy and organ donation. The loss of effective antibiotics would mean reverting to a time when simple infections were untreatable, the statement said.</p>

<p>The organization claimed that each year around 700,000 people die due to drug-resistant infections and if unchecked, this number may increase to 10 million deaths a year by 2050 &mdash; more than the number of people that die of cancer today.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Antibiotics should therefore be considered a resource to be used with care. Yet underuse, overuse and misuse of antibiotics are prevalent in many settings, from hospitals to outpatient clinics,&rdquo; the statement said.</p>

<p>AMR occurs when microbes develop resistance to the drugs we use to treat infections. With very few truly novel classes of antibiotics coming to market, global attention has focused particularly on antimicrobial drugs that treat bacterial infections. The more antibiotics are used, the greater the risk that bacterial resistance will develop. It is a global health emergency that will affect treatment worldwide.</p>

<p>There remains an urgent need for developing innovative, scalable approaches to address the challenge of conserving existing antibiotics, share expertise, and collaborate to generate solutions for a pressing issue that can have measurable impact in countries around the world, the statement further said.</p>

<p>According to the organization, the solutions proposed will be judged on the depth of understanding of the problem context; alignment and realism of the proposed strategy to the existing AMR related social and economic landscape of the chosen geographic area; technical and scientific soundness; basis on clinical evidence; potential for real-world and even long-lasting applicability and impact to the selected setting; financial and logistical feasibility and sustainability; and value added to the relevant stakeholders.</p>

<p>Teams are encouraged to involve multiple disciplines, including but not limited to medicine, public health, engineering, agriculture, supply chain, business management, and finance.</p>

<p>The competition&rsquo;s website provides educational resources, so no prior experience in working on AMR is needed. Teams should be composed of between 2 to 5 people. They are encouraged to draw from interdisciplinary talents and are even welcome to seek out members from around the world via Innovate4AMR Facebook pages. A team can only submit one proposal, but individual members can be in multiple teams.</p>

<p>Winners will attend a capacity building workshop in Geneva, Switzerland during the World Antibiotic Awareness Week, which will run from November 12-18 later this year.</p>

<p>Each winning team will be reimbursed for their travel expenses up to $5,000 for two members per team (additional team members may attend at their own expense) for flights, registration fees, lodging, and some group meals.</p>

<p>The deadline for registration of teams, and submission of proposals, is September 17.&nbsp; Winning teams will be informed on October 5 via email.</p>

<p>The organiser claimed that Glocal Teen Hero is the only national platform in Nepal to recognize and honor outstanding teenagers. It is a platform for Nepali teenagers to share their initiation, creativity, and enthusiasm which will then motivate them and more of the other teenagers in the nation to develop an entrepreneurial thinking, the statement further said .</p>

<p>This is the fourth edition of the program designed in the country to recognize dedicated, passionate, and innovative teenagers so as to encourage their initiatives.</p>

<p>Bipana Sharma, a 17-year old child rights activist from Sunwal, Nawalparasi, and Santosh Lamichhane, a robot inventor were felicitated during the first and second editions of Glocal Teen Hero in the years 2015 and 2016 respectively. <p>The organization said in a statement that it is looking for innovative and creative solutions in resource-limited healthcare settings for a world free from the fear of untreatable infections.</p>

<p>Antibiotics are the cornerstone of many of the miracles of modern-day medicine from treating infections to preventing infections during cancer chemotherapy and organ donation. The loss of effective antibiotics would mean reverting to a time when simple infections were untreatable, the statement said.</p>

<p>The organization claimed that each year around 700,000 people die due to drug-resistant infections and if unchecked, this number may increase to 10 million deaths a year by 2050 &mdash; more than the number of people that die of cancer today.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Antibiotics should therefore be considered a resource to be used with care. Yet underuse, overuse and misuse of antibiotics are prevalent in many settings, from hospitals to outpatient clinics,&rdquo; the statement said.</p>

<p>AMR occurs when microbes develop resistance to the drugs we use to treat infections. With very few truly novel classes of antibiotics coming to market, global attention has focused particularly on antimicrobial drugs that treat bacterial infections. The more antibiotics are used, the greater the risk that bacterial resistance will develop. It is a global health emergency that will affect treatment worldwide.</p>

<p>There remains an urgent need for developing innovative, scalable approaches to address the challenge of conserving existing antibiotics, share expertise, and collaborate to generate solutions for a pressing issue that can have measurable impact in countries around the world, the statement further said.</p>

<p>According to the organization, the solutions proposed will be judged on the depth of understanding of the problem context; alignment and realism of the proposed strategy to the existing AMR related social and economic landscape of the chosen geographic area; technical and scientific soundness; basis on clinical evidence; potential for real-world and even long-lasting applicability and impact to the selected setting; financial and logistical feasibility and sustainability; and value added to the relevant stakeholders.</p>

<p>Teams are encouraged to involve multiple disciplines, including but not limited to medicine, public health, engineering, agriculture, supply chain, business management, and finance.</p>

<p>The competition&rsquo;s website provides educational resources, so no prior experience in working on AMR is needed. Teams should be composed of between 2 to 5 people. They are encouraged to draw from interdisciplinary talents and are even welcome to seek out members from around the world via Innovate4AMR Facebook pages. A team can only submit one proposal, but individual members can be in multiple teams.</p>

<p>Winners will attend a capacity building workshop in Geneva, Switzerland during the World Antibiotic Awareness Week, which will run from November 12-18 later this year.</p>

<p>Each winning team will be reimbursed for their travel expenses up to $5,000 for two members per team (additional team members may attend at their own expense) for flights, registration fees, lodging, and some group meals.</p>

<p>The deadline for registration of teams, and submission of proposals, is September 17.&nbsp; Winning teams will be informed on October 5 via email.</p>

<p>In the junior category, Tika Hang Limbu of Tower Temple Secondary School, Birtamode won the painting competition and Akashchandra Gautam of Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya, Pokhara finished first in 3-minutes-to-fame contest.&nbsp; Manish Rajak of GHP Secondary School, Birjung won the title of score the Real goal.</p>

<p>Health ministers and senior officials from the 11 member countries are expected to participate in the 71<sup>st</sup> Session of the Regional Committee of WHO South-East Asia Region, the highest policy making body of WHO in the region.</p>

<p>WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO South-East Asia Regional Director Dr Poonam Khetrapal Singh, and WHO Deputy Director General Jane Elizabeth Ellison will be participating in the meeting, along with representatives of a number of partner organizations and civil society, according to WHO South-East Asia.</p>

<p>The meeting will deliberate on the existing and new opportunities for improving access to essential medicines, vaccines and medical products both within WHO South-East Asia Region and beyond, as one of the key initiatives towards universal health coverage.</p>

<p>With the region prone to disasters and public health emergencies, WHO and member countries will discuss strengthening of emergency medical teams, an important initiative to fortify response capacities.</p>

<p>To address the significant increase in dengue cases in recent years, health experts will discuss measures against all vector-borne diseases including chikungunya and zika.</p>

<p>Building on the momentum created in the region in recent years to eliminate malaria, the member countries will review key action points for further intensifying efforts to reduce its disease burden.</p>

<p>In addition, progress reports on promoting physical activity, intensifying routine immunization, improving civil registration and vital statistics and expanding the scope of the South-East Asia Regional Emergency Fund, would be made at the meeting.</p>

<p>The Regional Committee session is held annually and is hosted by one of the 11 member countries in the region or the WHO South-East Asia Regional Office. The session this year is being hosted by the WHO South-East Asia Regional Office.</p>

<p>The organiser claimed that Glocal Teen Hero is the only national platform in Nepal to recognize and honor outstanding teenagers. It is a platform for Nepali teenagers to share their initiation, creativity, and enthusiasm which will then motivate them and more of the other teenagers in the nation to develop an entrepreneurial thinking, the statement further said .</p>

<p>This is the fourth edition of the program designed in the country to recognize dedicated, passionate, and innovative teenagers so as to encourage their initiatives.</p>

<p>Bipana Sharma, a 17-year old child rights activist from Sunwal, Nawalparasi, and Santosh Lamichhane, a robot inventor were felicitated during the first and second editions of Glocal Teen Hero in the years 2015 and 2016 respectively.
