‘The new standards set for the stone crusher plants will not be reviewed.’

Industry Minister Karna Bahadur Thapa, claiming that the government will not move even an inch backward from implementing the new standards set for the stone crusher industries. He further said that the new standards had been implemented as there were non-transparent investment in stone crusher plants.

 

 

‘The actual per capita income of Nepalis is higher than that shown in government reports.’

Finance Minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat claiming that several economic activities are missed out while measuring the size of the country’s economy.

 

 

‘If the government doesn’t lift the ban on boulders, stone gravels and sand by Aug 31, 2014, all construction entrepreneurs will go for agitation.’

Jayaram Lamichhane, President of the Federation of Contractors' Associations of Nepal (FCAN), arguing that the ban has affected the entire construction industry.

Energy Minister Radha Gyawali talking to reporters at the Tribhuvan International Airport after returning from a visit to Bangladesh. She also said that Bangladesh wants to purchase power from Nepal in the future and is also ready for a separate PTA with Nepal.
