The swarm of octa-core processors is rocking the gadget market scene now-a-days. Faster computing is all what gadget geeks seek in their mobile devices. And, it seems that Colors Mobile's new flagship octa-core smartphone is taking the center-stage in Nepali gadget arena. After the success of K1 AMOLED and K2 Full HD, Colors has come up with K22 Octa as third installment in its Pearl Black series.
Powered by MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7 GHz coupled with 700 MHz Mali 450-MP4 GPU alongside 2GB RAM, the smartphone is capable to handle any task very smoothly. The processor is the first to employ the Taiwanese chipset manufacturer MediaTek's True Octa-core microprocessor technology. Unlike other octa-core processors, which can only activate half of their CPU cores at once, MT6592 allows for all eight of its cores to run simultaneously. Be it for high-end gaming, fast multitasking or other power demanding tasks, K22 simply offer the best solutions without showing any sign of snag.
The dual-SIM smartphone which runs on Kitkat 4.4 sports a 5-inch HD touchscreen display is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 alkali-aluminosilicate sheet for durability and scratch-resistance. With 320 ppi pixel density, its 720 X 1280 IPS screen has a resolution of pixels which gives pleasingly vibrant and crisp display. MediaTek Miracast Wireless Display in K22 is another notable technology which gives it the unique ability to wirelessly display its screen and content on a Smart TV. Also, the smartphone's HOTKNOT technology enables superfast file transfers from one phone to another by screen to screen contact.
K22 features a powerful imaging system. The back side of the phone houses a 13 megapixel snapper while a 5 MP secondary camera sits on the front. The primary camera, capable of capturing outstanding images even in low-light conditions is equipped with RGBW technology from Exmor RS and F2.2 aperture lens. The camera comes with different features such as voice capture mode and light photo modes among others. Meanwhile, the secondary shooter which offers an 88 degree wide angle shot can also take delightfully good quality images.
K22 is loaded with all kinds of latest connectivity options. The smartphone comes with Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, USB and USB-on-the-go or OTG. Users can have complete access to any USB device including pen drives and printers using the OTG technology on the K22. Similarly, the phone's gesture-driven screen unlocking features allow users to open apps by using shortcut swipes to bypass the locked screen. Carved in classic black and white, this 7.8mm ultra-slim phone weighing just 110 grams also has dual speakers and dual microphone for sound clarity. However, the limited storage of K22 somewhat disappoints. The smartphone comes with 16 GB ROM without any support for storage expansion.
On the power front, K22 Octa's 2,250 mAh Li-ion polymer battery performs impressively. It can give talk time of up to 3.5 hours on 3G and 7 hours on 2G. According to Teletalk Pvt Ltd, the brand owner of Colors mobile in Nepal, K22 Octa will be available from first week of June and will be priced below Rs 30,000 in the domestic market.
