Citroën Introduces New ‘eC3 Shine’ Variant in Nepal

NewBiz Report

Citroen has updated its fully electric eC3 with a new top-end variant called Shine. Shangrilla Motors, the authorised distributor of Citroen for Nepal, introduced the Citroen eC3 Shine in the Nepali market in the first week of June. The compact SUV is based on the Citroen C3 and shares a similar design language and features. However, the new eC3 replaces the internal combustion engine with a 42kW electric motor and a 29.2kWh battery. While Citroen eC3 variants previously incorporated several cost-cutting measures in their overall build to maintain an aggressive price, the eC3 Shine enhances this by adding practical features while still keeping the competitive price tag. The Citroen eC3 Shine is priced at Rs 3.59 million. Despite the upward revision in EV taxes introduced by the new budget, Shangrilla Motors will continue to offer the eC3 Shine at the pre-budget price of Rs 3.59 million until stock lasts.

The eC3 Shine retains its distinctive styling which has become familiar due to the C3 model. The front section features a split halogen headlamp with LED DRLs and a signature dual chrome chevron that extends the grille. The side profile remains unchanged, while the charging port has been positioned in the front section. At the rear, the eC3 Shine sports an LED tail lamp with a chromed emblem. There are no changes to both the interior and exterior, maintaining an elevated SUV stance on the outside and providing ample space inside. The Citroen eC3 is available in White, Blue, Platinum Grey, and Steel Grey colours.

Powered by a 42kW permanent magnet synchronous motor, the Citroen eC3 delivers a maximum power of 57 PS and a peak torque of 143 Nm. It features a 29.2 kWh high energy density lithium-ion battery with regenerative braking, offering an ARAI-claimed range of 320 km on a single charge. The onboard 3.3 kW charger can fully charge the battery from 10% to 100% in 10.5 hours. The eC3 includes two driving modes: Eco and Standard. The compact SUV is equipped with a fully automatic drive and an E-Toggle. It measures 3,981 mm in length, 1,733 mm in width, and 1,586 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,540 mm. The Citroen eC3 has a ground clearance of 170 mm and a kerb weight ranging from 1,302 to 1,316 kg. It offers a boot space of 315 litres. According to the company, the eC3 Shine variant includes features such as electrically adjustable wing mirrors, a rear parking camera, 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a rear wiper washer, a rear defogger, faux skid plates and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
