inDrive: officially launched in Nepal

After two years of unofficial operation, inDrive, the global mobility and urban services platform has officially expanded operations in Nepal. The US-based company began operating in Nepal in April 2022. Currently, inDrive’s ride-hailing service is available in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan and offers taxi, motorcycle, delivery and intercity rides in Kathmandu. inDrive, which has entered the Nepali market with 100% foreign direct investment, aims to expand its services to more cities in Nepal after conducting research and studies. The company has also started levying a 10% on drivers for each ride.

Speaking at the official launching ceremony in Kathmandu, Pavit Nanda Anand, the Asia Pacific Region Communication Lead of inDrive, said they were excited to launch the formal operation in Nepal. “inDrive provides global freedom of choice to people. The Nepali market is crucial for us, and we are confident that our service will bring innovation and create employment,” she added. Likewise, Rita Pokharel, director of inDrive’s Nepal operations, said the official launch of inDrive marks a new chapter in Nepal's ride-hailing industry. “We have partnered with IMEPay to ensure hassle-free and safe payments for all our users,” she added.
