Dr. Kajan Ranabhat, a dynamic Consultant Neurointerventionist, spearheads the Interventional Radiology department at B&B Hospital. With expertise in both non-vascular and vascular interventions, he specializes in Neurovascular Interventions, notably stroke treatment. Dr. Ranabhat brings extensive experience, having performed over 2,000 interventional radiology procedures, including approximately 500 vascular interventions, 200 neuro-interventions, and 30 specific stroke treatments. Interventional Radiology (IR), as outlined by Dr. Ranabhat, is a minimally invasive medical specialty that employs imaging modalities like X-rays, ultrasounds, CT scans, and MRIs to guide procedures. These precise interventions, conducted through small incisions using catheters, directly target affected organs. IR encompasses a diverse array of treatments, ranging from biopsies and fluid drainage to intricate procedures like occluding blood vessels to address liver tumors or strokes. The surge in non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular issues, coupled with the significant mortality rates attributed to strokes, emphasizes the urgency for prompt and effective treatments. Dr. Nutan Sharma recently joined B&B Hospital, spearheading the establishment of a comprehensive IVF Center complemented by a dedicated training institute. With 15 years of expertise in infertility treatment, Dr. Sharma has witnessed a notable rise in infertility cases in Nepal. Dr. Sharma specializes in various infertility treatments, with a particular focus on patients with low ovarian reserve, including those aged 45 and above. As an adept laparoscopic surgeon, Dr. Sharma excels in performing advanced laparoscopic surgeries, including cases with a history of multiple open surgeries. Driven by her extensive expertise, Dr. Sharma aims to establish a training institute to educate medical professionals, particularly the emerging generation of doctors, on infertility and IVF. This initiative extends to underserved areas outside Kathmandu, targeting communities with limited access to infertility treatment knowledge. The training curriculum encompasses the referral system, infertility awareness, and fundamental preventive measures. Dr. Sharma envisions the B&B IVF Center as Nepal's premier IVF facility, with branches spanning Kathmandu and beyond, emphasizing expert care and affordability for those in need. The center has attracted patients from Australia and China, with notable success stories including Nepali patients conceiving at the center and delivering triplets in Australia six months ago, solidifying its reputation as a sought-after destination for infertility treatment.
