NEW APPOINTMENTS 

Ashoke Rana has been continued as the CEO of Himalayan Bank Ltd for a second terms. This term is counted as second after the bank acquired Civil Bank four years ago. 

Devendra Raman Khanal has been given the responsibility of Acting CEO of Rastriya Banijya Bank after Kiran Kumar Shrestha retired from the position. Chartered Accountant Khanal had joined the bank 16 years ago. He also holds an MBA degree. Khanal has more than a decade and a half of banking experience, having held the responsibilities of various departments including the bank's branch office, regional office and credit department. 

 

Grishma Ojha has been re-appointed as the General Manager of Sanimamai Hydropower Limited for a four-year term. 

Arjun Raj Khaniya has been promoted to Assistant CEO from Assistant General Manager of NIC Asia Bank. Khaniya has been working in banking industry for more than two decades. 

Rabin Manandhar of Hotel Shambala has been promoted to General Manager from Operations Manager. 

Kumar Koirala has Joined Monalisa Group of Hotels as Group General Manager. Earlier, he was the pre-opening GM for Mhendo Hotels and Studio Suites. Koirala has experience of more than 23 years in the hospitality industry, working with KGH hotels and Annapurna Group of Hotels, among others. 

Mukesh Dahal has been appointed as the CEO of Nirdhan Utthan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited for a two-year term. Earlier, he was working as the acting CEO of the company. 

Tara Manandhar has been appointed as the CEO of Dish Media Network Limited. He worked as the deputy representative of Masrek Bank Dubai in Nepal for about three years. Prior to Masrek, he was the Assistant General Manager of Prime Commercial Bank and Deputy CEO of Kailash Bikas Bank. He also worked in Kailash and Muktinath development banks as well as and Prabhu Bank. 

Manjila Dangol has been appointed as the CEO of Development Bankers Association Nepal. Dangol, a post graduate in management, has experience of 15 years working at the managerial level of then Sunrise Bank, then Mega Bank and Nepal Investment Mega Bank. 

Binay Kumar Regmi has retired as the Deputy CEO of Nabil Bank after 37 years of service. 

Pushparaj Giri, who was allegedly involved in the cooperative scam while working for Gorkha Media Network, has resigned from Kantipur Publications. According to the publication house, Giri stepped down from the position of Corporate Manager after his name was included in the charge sheet following investigation by the police. 

Nirajan Khadka has joined Holiday Inn Resort, Budhanilkantha (IGH Hotels & Resorts) as Purchase Manager. Earlier, he was in the same position with Dusit Thani Himalayan Resort, Dhulikhel. 

Anand Pandey has been re-appointed as the CEO of NMB Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd for a four-years term. 

Barahi Hydropower Public Company Limited has accepted the resignation of its CEO Surya Prasad Adhikari. 

MOVEMENTS IN THE PUBLIC LIMITED COMPANIES 

Ramesh Singh Khadka, Shankar Prasad Kalikota and Prof Dr Geeta Pradhan (Independent Director) have resigned from the Board of Directors of Prabhu Bank Ltd. 

Angir Man Singh, Tara Manandhar, Kishore Jang Karki and Bhawna Balayar have been elected as Board Directors of Prabhu Bank Ltd. 

Ganesh Chaulagain has joined IME Life Insurance Ltd as Chief Marketing Officer. Earlier, he was Chief Business Officer with Sanima Reliance Life Insurance. He has nearly two decades of experience in the insurance sector. 

Five directors have been elected unopposed in Janautthan Samudayic Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. Dr Meg Bahadur Bishwokarma, Dr Man Bahadur BK Yagya Bikram Shahi were elected from the promoter shareholders’ group, while Huma Kumari Kunwar Thapa and Gururaj Baruwal were elected from public shareholders’ group. Dr Man Bahadur BK has been unanimously elected as the chairman of the company. 

Hasana Sharma has been elected as an independent director of Siddhartha Premier Insurance Limited for a four-year term. 

Badri Narayan Sahu Teli has been elected as an independent director of CEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited. 

Adarsha Raj Pandey has been elected as the Director of Shree Investment and Finance Company Ltd for the remaining term representing the promoter's group. 

Manohar Das Mool has been re-elected as the Chairman of Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Limited (SALICO). Representing the promoter's group, Mahohar Das Mool, Lokmanya Golchha, Siddhartha Mani Rajbhandari and Ajith R Gunawardena from Ceylinco Insurance PLC, Sri Lanka, have been elected as board directors. Additionally, Arun Raj Shrestha and Bijan Bhattarai were elected unopposed from the public shareholder group. 

Sarbottam Cement Limited has elected unanimously elected Bishnu Prasad Neupane, Bimal Kumar Sawarthia, Tikaram Neupane, Tenzing Lakden Tamang and Diwas Neupane as board directors from promoter shareholder group. Similarly, Shiv Singh Karki has been elected as board director from the public shareholders group, while Neha Agarwal has been nominated as an independent director. 

Gaurav Budhathoki, who was elected as board director from public shareholders group, has been elected as the Chairman. The post was lying vacant after Dekindra Kumar Rai, who was the chairman of the company, stepped down citing personal reasons. 

ELECTED IN BUSINESS ASSOCIATIONS 

Rajesh Kaji Shrestha has been elected as the Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC). Mahesh Kumar Agarwal, Surendra Bir Malakar, Suresh Kumar Basnet, along with other leaders of the chamber, are part of this council 

Narayan Bajaj, CA has been re-elected as the President of the European Economic Chamber (EEC). He is the Principal at Narayan Bajaj & Associates Chartered Accountants. 

GOVERNMENT MOVEMENTS 

Dr Resham Thapa has been appointed as the Head of the Central Department of Economics of the Tribhuvan University. 

Ghanashyam Upadhayay Regmi has been transferred as Secretary to Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security from the Office of the Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Government. 

Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal has been elected unopposed as the President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC). He replaces Rajendra Malla who has completed his term. Earlier Agrawal was Senior Vice President of the NCC and has been affiliated with the organization for the past two decades. He holds a Master's degree in Management from TU. Similarly, Dipak Kumar Malhotra has been elected unopposed as the Senior Vice-President, and Urmila Shrestha, Deepak Shrestha, Surendra Kumar Shrestha, Nilkantha Chaulagain and Santosh Kumar Pandey as Vice Presidents representing commerce, industry, commodities, binational chambers, and districts, respectively. Arjun Prasad Sharma has been appointed as the honorary member of the NCC. Out of the 76 members in the NCC's executive committee, 55 were elected unopposed besides the nominated members. 

Brigadier General Gaurav Kumar KC has been appointed as the spokesperson for the Nepali Army (NA). Earlier, he was the chief of the Pokhara based Western Division of Nepal Army. He replaces Krishna Prasad Bhandari who has been transferred to the Army Archives at the Nepal Army Headquarters. 

Professor Khadga KC has been appointed as the Rector of Tribhuvan University and Professor Kedar Rizal has been appointed as Registrar. Rizal is a professor in the Department of Environmental Science and KC is a professor in the Department of International Relations. 

The government has transferred five secretaries. Dinesh Bhattarai has been transferred from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers to the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens. Suman Raj Aryal has been transferred to the Ministry of Youth and Sports from the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens. Similarly, Arjun Prasad Pokharel has been transferred from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers to the National Statistics Office. Likewise, Mukunda Prasad Niraula has been transferred from the Office of the Vice President to the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, while Vinod Prakash Singh has been transferred from the ministry to the National Natural Resources and Fiscal Commission. 

Er Sanjeev Baral has been appointed as the Director General of the Department of Irrigation. 

Murari Prasad Kharel has been appointed as the Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission. Likewise, Joint Secretary Gobind Bahadur Karki has been promote to Acting Principal Secretary of the Bagmati Province Government. Similarly, Joint Secretary Kedarnath Sharma has been promoted to Secretary. 

SSP Basant Rajoure has been transferred to the District Police Range Kathmandu from the Nepal Police headquarters. Likewise, SSP Bhupendra Khatri has been transferred to the Crime Investigation Department from the District Police Range Kathmandu. Similarly, SSP Sanuram Bhattarai has been transferred to the Valley Crime Investigation Office. SSP Abhi Narayan Kafle has been transferred to the Koshi Province Police Training Centre, Biratnagar. 

DIG Durga Singh has been given the responsibility of the chief of Gandaki Province Police Office. Singh was working at the Kathmandu Valley Police Office. He replaces DIG Bikash Raj Khanal who has taken retirement due to the age limit of 56 years. 

Dr Shivahari Shrestha has been appointed as the CEO of Rastriya Beema Company Ltd. Earlier, Shrestha was the Chief of the Food Management and Trading Company Ltd. He is also a former CEO of Beema Sansthan. 

Suresh Adhikari, who was the Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, has retired. 

Supreme Court Registrar Narayan Prasad Panthi and Deputy Attorney General Vishwaraj Koirala have also retired. 

Rewati Raman Poudel, Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, will retire in mid-May.
