Skywell Debuts in Nepal with Premium SUV ET5

As urban Nepali consumers show a growing preference for electric vehicles (EVs), the Nepali market is witnessing the launch of new EV models every month. In April, yet another Chinese EV brand hit the Nepali roads. 

G Motors, the authorised distributor for Skywell electric vehicles, has unveiled Skywell ET5, the luxury SUV, in the Nepali market. Skywell is one of the leading manufacturers of new energy vehicles in China and is among the first Chinese companies to obtain EU product certification. Priced at Rs 10.9 million, the Skywell ET5 is one of the costliest electric SUVs in the Nepali market. It is the first EV in Nepal with a whopping 620-kilometre range as per the company’s claim. The Skywell ET5 features a classic large SUV design, characterised by its imposing presence.

At the front, the SUV boasts a Laser Matrix Headlamp complemented by Scythe LED DRLs which adds a distinctive touch to its appearance while maintaining an overall sleek front profile. The car is equipped with a sealed grille accented by sporty silver bumpers which adds to its dynamic and modern look. Likewise, the SUV is equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels and chrome windows which adds to its premium appearance. Moving to the rear section, the ET5 maintains its sleek and futuristic design, featuring an eye-catching connected LED tail lamp adorned with the luminous Skywell logo.

Inside, the interior of the SUV boasts a thoughtful design aimed at maximising driving comfort. With leather seats, an 8-speaker system, party mode, rest mode and more, every element in the car has been meticulously crafted to enhance driving experience. Propelled by a robust 150kW electric motor, the Skywell ET5 delivers a maximum power output of 204PS and an impressive maximum torque of 320 Nm which enables it to reach a top speed of 160 km per hour. It is equipped with an 85.96 kWh Lithium Ternary Battery which provides an estimated maximum range of 620 km NEDC (or 520Km WLTP).

For charging, the car comes with a 11kW AC CCS Type 2 charger capable of fully charging the battery in eight hours. Moreover, with support for a 90kW DC Charger, the charging time is reduced significantly to just 1 hour and 30 minutes. The Skywell ET5 boasts dimensions of 4720 mm in length, 1908 mm in width, and 1696 mm in height, with a wheelbase spanning 2800mm. With a ground clearance of 197mm and a weight of 1880 kg, it offers stability and agility in various road conditions. Furthermore, the vehicle features a spacious 467-litre boot space, expandable up to 1,141 litres, which ensures ample room for all luggage and cargo needs.
