NEW APPOINTMENTS
Dipesh Lamsal has been appointed as the CEO of Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank. He assumed the role of Acting CEO approximately a month ago following the resignation of Bodh Raj Devkota, who stepped down before completing his tenure.
Tejendra Lamsal has joined Aviyan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited, Panauti as Chief Executive Officer. Earlier, he was Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Agro Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd.
Sanjay Sah has joined Golyan Group as Vice President and Group CFO. Earlier, he was with WorldLink Communications as Group Chief Financial Officer.
Padam Thakulla has joined Manjushree Finance Limited as Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Earlier, he was with NIC Asia Bank Ltd as Senior Manager.
Dipesh Pote Shrestha, an ACCA, has joined Team Ventures as Sr. Investment Analyst. Earlier, he was Associate Analyst at Infomerics Credit Rating Nepal. Shrestha holds an MBA degree and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK. He has over 7 years of experience in accounting, research, valuation, financial management, and credit analysis.
Punam Singh has joined MAW as Chief Marketing Officer at MAW Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. Earlier, she was Group Chief Marketing Officer at Chaudhary Group.
Narayan P Sapkota has been appointed as the Divisional Head-Marketing Research of Dish Media Network Limited. He has more than 22 years experience in marketing research. Earlier, Sapkota was with Chaudhary Group, Nepal.
ELECTED IN PUBLIC LIMITED COMPANIES
Narayan Prasad Risal and Prof Dr Ram Prasad Gyawali have been elected as the Board Directors of Rastriya Banijya Bank.
Mahesh Kumar Pokharel has been elected as the chairman of Support Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. after Pradeep Adhikari resigned from his position. Similarly, Govinda Lal Karna has been elected as a Director.
Satya Narayan Jha, Dr Pramod Kumar Jha and Shudhanshu Shekhar Jha have been continued as directors of Swastik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. Similarly, Hira Ghimire has been elected unopposed as a director of the company representing the women.

Similarly, Binay Raman Poudel (representative of Rastriya Banijya Bank), Pratap Subedi (representative of Agricultural Development Bank) and Bhanubhakta Pokharel, Dr Neelima Shrestha and Bharat Kumar Adhikari from general public are elected as Board Directors of the company.
Chartered Accountant Manish Aryal has been elected as the Chairman of the Jalpa Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited after Bir Bahadur Adhikari resigned.
Jagat Pokharel has been elected as the chairman of Trust Micro-insurance Butwal. Pokhrel is the Chairman of Vision Lumbini Limited and also the Executive Chairman of Vision Lumbini Energy Company.
Joint Secretary Bhupal Baral has been transferred as the Director General of Internal Revenue Department replacing Dirgharaj Mainali. Earlier, Baral was the head of the Financial Sector Coordination Division of the Finance Ministry. Similarly, Mainali has returned to the Finance Ministry as the head of the Public Debt Management Office.
Dr Tokaraj Pandey, who was the head of airport customs, has been transferred to the finance ministry. Sewentak Pokharel has been given the responsibility as the head of Airport Customs Office.
The government has appointed Dr Umashankar Prasad of Rautahat as a member of the National Planning Commission. Some time ago, the government decided to amend the constitution of the commission and add one member. Dr. Prasad holds PhD in Economics and was a member of the Commission also earlier. He is also the former Chairman of the Health Insurance Board.
Padma Prasad Pandey has been appointed as the General Secretary of the Federal Parliament of Nepal.
Milan Devkota has been given the responsibility of Member Secretary of the Executive Committee of Nepal Tourism Board for a maximum of three months pending the appointment of a new CEO of the board. The post of CEO is vacant in the tourism board after the tenure of Dhananjay Regmi was over two months ago.
Senior physician Dr Anand Prasad Shrestha who is also the Chairman of Om Hospital and Director of Nepal Medical College, has been appointed as a Member (Senator) of the Patan Health Sciences Institute.
Orthopedic surgeon Dr Pramod Joshi has been appointed as member secretary of Nepal Health Research Council. Earlier, he was with National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), Bir Hospital.
The government has appointed Bhupendra Bhandari as the chairman of Nepal Telecommunication Authority.
The government has appointed Dr Chandika Prasad Bhatta as Managing Director (MD) of Nepal Oil Corporation. Dr Bhatta has worked as the MD of the Corporation also in the past when he had started the automatic price system. He has also worked two times as the ED of the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Authority.
Prof Dr Keshar Jung Baral has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University. Baral, who began his teaching career as an assistant professor at Mahendra Morang Campus, assumed the role of vice-chancellor at Pokhara University in 2008. Baral is credited for the expansion of Pokhara University, having increased the number of affiliated colleges from 23 to 54. Additionally, under his leadership, educational programs such as nursing and graduate-level electrical and electronic engineering were initiated.
The government has appointed Dr Satish Kumar Dev as the registrar of the Nepal Medical Council from the quota of CPN Maoist center. Dr Dev, who is also a former member of the council was previously the Principal of Madan Bhandari Institute of Health Sciences, Hetauda. He is also Associate Professor of Pharmacology at TU Institute of Medicine (IOM). Earlier, Dr Choplal Bhusal, who was close to the Nepali Congress, had been appointed as the chairman of the council.
