Galli Express Pvt. Ltd, the developer  of Galli Maps, have bagged the NYEF Startup Awards at the SALICO Presents NYEF Startup Awards held in Kathmandu on January 12. Similarly, the position of First Runner Up was shared between Quickfox Consulting and PetMama Nepal. While the winner received a cash prize of Rs 400,000, the two first runners-up shared the cash prize of Rs 200,000 between them. PetMama also won the Audience Choice Award. The award carries a purse of Rs 50,000. Likewise,  Dursikshya Education won the Social Enterprise Award which carries a purse of Rs 50,000. The Grand Finale held on January 13 marked a grand culmination of a five-month journey, according to the organisers. The seven finalists pitched in front of a panel of expert judges: Sewa Pathak, CEO of Vianet Communications; Niranjan Shrestha, Executive Director at Laxmi Group; and. Ajit Shah, CEO of Lotus Holdings. The audience got to vote for their favourites for the Audience Choice Award.

Galli Maps
Galli Maps is a map application designed and developed in Nepal to facilitate easy navigation through the narrow alleys, known as "gallis," in the region. The app aims to enhance the use of maps with features such as real-time geolocation, house number search, and 360-degree street views. It provides easy-to-use tools for distance calculations, route generation, multi-stop optimization, and navigation. The name "Galli" is derived from the narrow alleys in the region, and the app is set to update the way people move around in Nepal. It is built to help businesses and individuals deliver goods and services to their customers with ease, making delivery to doorsteps a reality. The app is available for download on the App Store and Google Play, and it offers diverse map styles of Nepal that can be personalised to suit various needs. The unique features of Galli Maps are that it has details of road network and house number as well as offers 360 degree view. Likewise, it also has event and report features. Galli Maps have organically garnered over 103,000 users in a year and boasts over 50,000 monthly active users.
 

The Founder:
Raj Bikram Maharjan is the CEO and co-founder of Galli Maps. An aeronautical engineer and an entrepreneur, Maharjan completed undergraduation from Shenyang Aerospace University in China. He worked at several companies such as BMW, Himalaya Airlines and  Fusemachines.
