NEW APPOINTMENTS

Tilak Pandeya has been appointed as the CEO of Nepal Bank Limited where he had worked as Chief Manager some years ago. He holds an MBA from Tribhuvan University in Business & Finance. Before this appointment he was Academic Director at National Banking Institute. 

Santosh Koirala has been reappointed as the CEO of Machhapuchhre Bank Ltd. for another four years term. 

Sanjeev Kumar Shukla has joined MAW Enterprises as Chief Executive Officer replacing Raju Chettri whose two years tenure was over. Shukla was engaged with MAW group for the last six months. Earlier, Shukla was Chief Marketing Officer of Muthoot Pappachan Group, India. He has close to three decades of work experience, with around 19 years in the automotive industry. He worked as General Manager & Head - Marketing at Hero MotoCorp and also with Ford Motor India as Head-Marketing among others. 

Kapil Dhakal has been appointed as the CEO Jyoti Bikas Bank. Dhakal was earlier given the responsibility as Acting CEO of the Bank after Shree Chandra Bhatta resigned from the post. Before that, Dhakal was Senior DCEO of the bank. 

Rajesh Kumar Panda has been appointed as the Deputy CEO & Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Nepal SBI Bank Ltd. after Mohmmad Rizwan Alam returned to India by completing his tenure in Nepal. Earlier, Panda was with State Bank of India. 

Amit Walia has been appointed as the Director of Sales and Marketing at Hyatt Regency Kathmandu after serving as the Director of Sales at Hyatt Centric Janakpuri, New Delhi. With an extensive tenure of four years at Hyatt, he held diverse roles in global sales and unit sales. With a career span of over 15 years Amit has refined his expertise across renowned international brands such as Ritz Carlton, Fairmont, Marriott Global Sales, and Radisson. 

Simran Sapkota has been promoted to Assistant Manager of Marketing and Communications at Hyatt Regency Kathmandu. She transitioned internally from her previous role as an Executive Assistant and Analyst within the Executive Office to the Sales and Marketing department. 

Aseem Koirala has been appointed as the CEO of ANS Creation P Ltd. Prior to this role, he served as the Creative Director at Max L’agence for 19 years. 

Dipendra Subedi has been appointed as the Chief Business Officer at Kamana Sewa Devlopment Bank Ltd. Earlier, he was with Shangrila Development Bank as Cluster Head. 

Ganesh Kumar KC has been appointed as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Sindhu Bikash Bank. He has more than 20 years of experience in banking serving various banks and financial institutions and has worked as the Chief Executive Officer of Malika Development Bank as well as serving in the internal audit department of Kumari Bank Ltd. 

Shyam Tandukar of Chandragiri Hills Ltd. has been promoted to Acting General Manager from Executive Manager. Tandukar replaces Sanjeev Thapa, who resigned from the company as General Manager. 

Pawan Acharya has been promoted as the Station Manager of Radio Kantipur from the News Editor. 

Pratik Poudel has been promoted to the position of Senior Manager with the functional responsibility as Head of Operations for VG Lube Pvt. Ltd. (Veedol Lubricants Nepal) from Assistant Manager. 

Dabal Kaji Rokaha of IOM - UN Migration has been promoted to Programme Manager (Shelter/NFI) from an Officer. 

Shara Hamal has joined Tranquility Spa, Soaltee. Earlier, she was Customer Care Officer at Dr Batra’s DHCC Clinic at Dubai. She has worked in UAE for many years. 

Khando Gurung has joined Radisson Hotel as Marketing & Public Relations Manager. Earlier, she was PR & Marketing Manager at Dusit Princes Kathmandu. Arati Burathoki has joined Holiday Inn, Naxal as Marketing Manager. Earlier, she was with Radisson as Sales Manager. 

Dil Bhusan Pathak, Editor-in-Chief at Kantipur TV HD (KTV) has resigned from the company. Bijay Poudel is joining KTV as the Editor-in-Chief. Similarly, Rupesh Shrestha has joined KTV as the Editor. Earlier also Shrestha was with KTV before joining Galaxy 4K Television as Editor-in-Chief. 

MOVEMENTS IN PUBLIC LIMITED COMPANIES 

Sashin Joshi has joined Fonepay as Chairman as Biswas Dhakal stepped down from the chairmanship. Earlier, Joshi was Group Executive Director of Jawalakhel Group of Industries (JGI). Joshi will remain Group Advisor of JGI till the completion of few projects that he was leading. The responsibility of Executive Director at JGI will be taken over by Managing Director of JGI Raj Bahadur Shah. 

Dr Binod Atreya has been appointed as an Independent Director of Citizens Bank International Limited. Dr Atreya is the former Executive Director of Nepal Rasta Bank. 

Mahesh Acharya has been elected as the Director of Agriculture Development Bank Ltd. He represents government of Nepal on the board. He has been working as the Chief of Administration Department at the Ministry of Finance. 

Shreejesh Guragain has been elected as the Chairman of the Mai Khola Hydropower Ltd. Similarly, Dipesh Gurung, Sandeep Adhikari, Rojina Neupane, Prakash Bhujel, Dhirendra Shrestha and Shobha Ghimire have been elected as the Directors. 

Ramu Paudel, Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), has been elected as the Chairman of Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL) representation NRB on the board. 

Ram Bahadur Yadav has been elected as the Chairman of the Executive Committee of Nepal Microfinance Bankers’ Association for the next two years. Yadav is the Chief Executive Officer at National Laghubitta, a microfinance Bank. Ramhari Dahal has been elected as the Vice-Chairman of the committee. Similarly, Sanjay Mandal has been elected as General Secretary, Gangadhar Pandey as Secretary and Binod Acharya as Treasurer. Shib Gyawali, Suresh Bam, Saugat Chaudhary, Shyam Katuwal, Sharada Khatri and Badri Prasad Dulal are the Executive Committee Members. 

Sarita Gautam has been elected as the Independent Director of NIC Asia Laghuabitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. 

Sajal Maskey has been elected as the Director of Nepal Insurance Company Limited after Diwakar Poudel resigned from the board of the company. 

Mahesh Kumar Chaudhary has been appointed as the CEO of Support Microfinance for a period of four years. 

Independent Director Maniraj Dahal and Public Director Vinay Kumar Todi of Upper Hewakhola Hydropower Company Pvt. Ltd. have resigned from the company. 

Chandra Prasad Dhakal has been re-elected unopposed as the chairman of Global IME Bank Limited. Dhakal is the president of FNCCI. Including Chairman Dhakal, Ram Bahadur Bhandari and Radhesh Pant are in the Bank’s Board representing the promoter shareholders. Narayan Prasad Paudel Upadhyay, Madanlal Joshi and Krishna Prasad Sharma are elected to the Board as directors from the public shareholders. 

MOVEMENTS IN BUSINESS CHAMBERS 

Advocate Baburam Aryal from Nepal has been elected as the Chairman of Asia Pacific School on Internet Governance (APSIG). His tenure will be two years. India’s Dr Govind Kumar is elected as Vice Chairman while Pakistan’s Wakas Hasan is the Second Vice Chairman. 

Nirmal Kajee Shrestha has been elected the president of the American Chambers of Commerce Nepal (AmCham), an umbrella organization of businesses operated in Nepal with American investment. Shrestha is Nepal’s Chief Executive Officer of MetLife, an American Life Insurance Company. Likewise, other members elected to the working committee include Kailash Raj Bijayananda of Leapfrog Technology, Ashim Man Singh Basnyat of Pathao Nepal, Akash Golchha of GO Ford, Manish Thapa of Laxmi Sunrise Bank Limited, Samarth Mogha of Mogha Energy and Sneh Rajbhandari of Bottlers Nepal Limited. Similarly, AmCham has nominated Ajay Bikram Shah as an Honorary Member of the Board. Shah is the Founding Chairman of the Chamber. Likewise, Semanta Dahal of Abhinav Law Chambers will also be included in the working committee as an Honorary Member. 

Chandra Prasad Dhakal has been elected Chairperson of the Nepal Federation of Savings and Credit Cooperative Unions Limited (NEFSCUN) – an umbrella organization of savings and credit cooperatives across the country. The elected office-bearers are Damodar Adhikari (senior vice-chair), Shanti Adhikari (women vice-chair), Ghanashyam Adhikari (general secretary) and Deepak Thapa (treasurer). The elected members in the Board of Directors from women category are Sita Dhakal Poudel, Mandira Mishra and Kamala Devi Giri. 

The NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal (NADA) has anonymously elected Karan Chaudhary as the president for a two-years term. Chaudhary is the Executive Director of the CG Holdings. 

GOVERNMENT MOVEMENTS 

Sewa Lamsal has been promoted as Secretary from Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She replaces Bharat Raj Paudyal who completed his tenure recently. Lamsal entered the Foreign Service as Assistant Secretary and has served as ambassador to Pakistan. 

Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC)’s Managing Director Umesh Thani has resigned from his post. Before his appointment as the managing director of NOC, Thani was the president of Center for Democratic Engineers, an organization of engineers affiliated to the Nepali Congress. Meanwhile, Nagendra Sah, the Senior Deputy Managing Director is given the responsibility as Officiating Executive Director till new arrangement. Sah is a Chartered Accountant and has been in the Finance Department of the corporation for the last 15 years. 

Madan Dahal has been transferred as Director General (DG) at Department of Labour and Occupational Safety from Department of Foreign Employment where too he was the DG.

Gopi Koirala, the senior instructor at Public Finance Management Training Centre has been promoted from the position of Assistant Secretary to Joint Secretary of Nepal Government. 

Dr Shrawan Kumar Thapa has been appointed as Officiating Director of National Academy of Medical Sciences (Bir Hospital) till another arrangement. Dr Thapa’s appointment follows transfer of Dr Santosh Paudel to the Ministry of Health. 

Nepal Rastra Bank has made a number of transfers in the Executive Director’s level. Accordingly, Guru Prasad Poudel has been transferred to Banks and Financial Institutions Regulation Department from Payment Systems Department. Dr Gunakar Bhatta has been transferred to Payment Systems Department from Banks and Financial Institutions Regulation Department. Ramu Paudel has been transferred to Financial Management Department from Foreign Exchange Management Department. Mukunda Kumar Chhetri has been transferred to Human Resource Management Department from Financial Management Department. 

Prof. Dr Choplal Bhusal has been appointed as the Chairman of Nepal Medical Council for a four-year term. 

The Council of Ministers has decided to appoint Rudra Prasad Gautam as the Chairman of Water Tariff Fixation Commission. Likewise, Yashoda Karki and Kul Bhushan Shara are to be appointed as Members of the Commission. 

Joint Secretary of Nepal Government Shobhakant Paudel has been appointed as the Chairman of Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) who takes the place of Bhuparaj Baral. Paudel is also serving as the Director General of the Department of Customs. 

Bharat Raj Gautam has resigned from the position of the General Secretary of the Federal parliament. Subsequently, Padma Prasad Pandeya, Secretary in the Federal Parliament has been recommended to be appointed as the General Secretary. 

Secretary of the Ministry of Water Supply (MOWS) Ram Adhar Sah has been transferred to National Vigilance Centre (NVC). Secretary Suresh Acharya of NVC has been transferred to MOWS. 

The government has promoted Major General Ashok Raj Sigdel to Lieutenant General thus making him the most-likely successor to COAS General Prabhu Ram Sharma. 

The government has appointed Laxmi Pun as Executive Director of Pashupati Area Development Trust. 

Journalist Ashok Silwal, who is also a Langtang goodwill ambassador, has been appointed Expert Member of Pashupati Area Development Trust. Silwal is also an advisor of the Village Tourism Promotion Forum Nepal. 

Dr Rabi Malla has been appointed as the Acting Executive Director (ED) of the Gangalal National Heart Center after the expiration of the term of former ED Dr Chandra Mani Adhikari.
Dr Malla is an Interventional Cardio Specialist, specializing in coronary angiography and angioplasty services. 

Government has appointed Mahesh Bhattarai as Secretary of The Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) after Jeeb Narayan Kafle got retirement because of his age.
