NEW APPOINTMENTS
Upasana Paudel has been appointed as the CEO of Himalayan Re-Insurance Company Limited after Chandrasekaran Ramamurthy resigned from the post. Earlier, Paudel was the CEO of United Insurance Company (Nepal) Limited. She had joined Himalayan-Re about nine months ago. Poudel has done MBA in Marketing from University of Delhi. She has worked in India for about ten years in different companies including in Bharti AXA General Insurance as Senior Head - Distribution & Strategy and also in ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Limited as Senior Product Manager.
Er. Shisir Gaire has joined Himalayan Re-Insurance Company Limited as Executive Director.
Surendra Raj Regmi has been promoted as the Senior Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Global IME Bank Ltd. Regmi has been associated with Global IME Bank for 15 years and possesses over three decades of banking experience. He holds a master’s degree in Economics from TU and has completed an MBA from the University of Wales, London.
CA Bishal Upreti has been appointed as the CEO of Emerging Nepal Ltd. for four’s term. Earlier, he was the Head of the Risk Management at the NIC Asia Bank Ltd.
Biswo Timila has been appointed as the CEO of Star Micro Insurance Nepal Ltd. for four year's term. Earlier, he was CEO of Premier Insurance Company.
Md. Yasir Arafin, FCMA, ACCA has joined Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Ltd. as Country Chief Financial Officer. Earlier he was Head of Business Finance- CCIB, Standard Chartered Bank Bangladesh.
Arya SJB Rana has joined IHG Hotels & Resorts (Nepal) as General Manager. Earlier, Rana had worked in the Soaltee Crowne Plaza Kathmandu.
Ramhari Acharya has joined Reliance Finance Ltd. as Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Earlier, he was Assistant General Manager at Jyoti Bikash Bank. Acharya possesses 25 years experience in banking industry.
Sambhav Sirohiya has been appointed Managing Director of the Kantipur Media Group. Sirohiya, who has been active in Kantipur Media Group for over a decade, is also its former CEO. Before Sambhav’s appointment to the post, Chairman Kailash Sirohiya also held the responsibility of MD.
Shishir Pachhai has been promoted as Group Chief of Staff at Kantipur Media Group. Earlier, he was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Kantipur TV.
Manoj Basnet of Kantipur Publications has been promoted as the Press and Regional Head from Head of Circulation Department.
Sachindra Dhungana of NIBL Ace Capital Limited has been promoted to General Manager from Deputy General Manager.
Lekh Nath Pokharel has been appointed as the CEO of Nepal SBI Merchant Banking. Earlier, Pokharel served in different managerial roles at the parent company Nepal SBI Bank and has ten-plus years of working experience in the banking and financial sector.
Sumati Shakya of The Soaltee Kathmandu has been promoted as Senior Director of Sales from Director - Meetings & Event.
Aseem Koirala has been appointed as the CEO of ANS Creation P Ltd. Earlier, he served as the Creative Director at Max L’agence for 19 years.
Sushant Pyakuryal has joined Prisma Advertising as Client Services Manager. Earlier, he was Corporate Sales Manager - Media Sales at Spark Technology.
Binod Duwadi has joined Kathmandu University School of Education as Visiting Faculty.
Aviruchi Giri of Sipradi Trading Pvt. Ltd. has been promoted and transferred as Marketing Manager from Deputy Manager - Business Strategy and Excellence after Sr. Marketing Manager Rupam Shrestha left the company.
ELECTED IN PUBLIC LIMITED COMPANIES
Dr. Chandra Bahadur Adhikari has been elected as the Chairman of Nepal Bank Ltd.
Bishwambhar Neupane has been elected as the Chairman of Nepal Electronic Payment Solution (NEPS). He represents Machhapuchhre Bank Ltd where he is the Deputy General Manager - Operations.
Sumit Babu Khatri has been elected as the Chairman of Mero Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited representing Citizens Bank International Limited. Similarly, Nepal Bhusan Shrestha has been elected as Board Director of the Microfinance representing Prime Commercial Bank.
Bipin Kumar Lal, Deputy CEO of Himalayan Life Insurance has taken Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) and left the job. Before joining Himalayan Life, he was CEO of Gurans Life Insurance Company.
ELECTED IN ASSOCIATIONS
Pawan Kumar Sharada has been elected as the president of CNI Koshi Province. He is a Director of Sharda Group and served also as a member of Constituent Assembly of Nepal. Similarly, Prakash Mundada has been elected as the Sr. Vice Presedent along with 40 executive committee members.
Dinesh Shrestha has been elected as the President of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce & Industries Kathmandu unanimously. Similarly, Ramanath Shrestha, Rajendra Sherchan and Jay Siwakoti have been eleected as the Vice Presidents and Durga Raj Shrestha has been elected as General Secretary. Susma Mahara has been elected as the Secretary, Pradipman Pradhan as Treasurer and Naniraj Ghimire as Co-Treasurer.
Rajesh Babu Shrestha, the Chairman of Manakamana Cable Car, has been elected as the Executive Vice President of the Asian Bodybuilding Federation. The electoral congress of the Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation has elected four Nepalis to various positions for the four years’s term. The electoral congress also elected Bijay Lal Kayastha as the Vice President, Dinesh Rajbhandari as the President of the Technical Committee and Rajesh Upadhyaya as the executive member of the Federation.
Durgadev Subedi of Apex Worldwide Express Pvt Ltd, has been elected as the President of Courier Service Association of Nepal.
Prakash Khandelwal has been elected as the President of Nepal Drug Dealer's Association. Similarly, Ram Prasad Kharel has been elected as Senior Vice President, Ramchandra Sharma, Tanka Prasad Adhikary and Yam Nath Poudel as Vice Presidents, Shreedhar Khanal as the General Secretary and Samrat Man Joshi as Treasures of the association.
GOVERNMENT MOVEMENT
Chartered Accountant Kabi Raj Adhikari has been appointed as the Executive Director of Social Security Fund for four years' term. Earlier, he was DCEO of Rastriya Banijya Bank Ltd. The post was vacant after the tenure of Kapil Mani Gyawali had ended in July.
Radhika Aryal has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of Lumbini Province. Earlier, she was Joint Secretary at Ministry of Industry, Commerce & Supplies.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has changed the responsibilities of 10 joint secretaries. Accordingly, Rudrasingh Tamang is now Director General of Department of Immigration. The previous director general of the department Jhalakram Adhikari is transferred to the ministry. Dawa Chhiring has been transferred to the additional group of the Ministry of General Administration. Jayanarayan Acharya is now in Disaster Management Authority. Similarly, Gogan Bahadur Hamal has been transferred as the Head of Immigration at Tribhuvan International Airport.
The MoHA has also changes the role of four Chief District Officers (CDOs). Accordingly, Roshani Kumari Shrestha has been transferred as CDO of Bhaktapur. CDO of Bhaktapur Khagendra Prasad Risal has been transferred to the Ministry of Home Affairs and made CDO of Baglung. Similarly, Joint Secretary Ganesh Aryal has been appointed as CDO of Rupandehi. Earlier, he was the CDO of Lalitpur. Likewise, Ram Bandhu Subedi has been transferred to Dang and Shivram Gelal to Mahottari. Joint secretaries Deepak Kumar Pahadi, Bharatmani Pandey and Khagendra Prasad Rizal have been transferred to the MoHA.
Ram Prasad Subedi has been appointed Nepal's Ambassador to Switzerland and Permanent Representative to Nepal's Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva, World Trade Organization (WTO) and World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva.
The Government has appointed Prof. Dr. Anjani Kumar Jha as the Vice Chairman of the Medical Education Commission. He is also the former President of Nepal Medical Association.
Joint Secretary Janak Raj Joshi has been transferred to the Land Management Training Centre as the Director General from Survey Department of Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation. Prakash Joshi has been transferred to the Survey Department again as Director General after eight months of his transfer to the ministry from the same department.
Secretary Dr. Deepak Kumar Kharal has been transferred to Ministry of Forest and Environment from Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development. Similarly, Secretary Dr Rewati Raman Poudel has been transferred to Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development from Ministry of Forest and Environment.
The government has transferred Secretary Krishna Hari Pushkar to the Ministry of Finance. As part of this reshuffle, Secretary Arjun Prasad Pokharel has been transferred to the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers.
Paras Khadka, the former captain of the national cricket team, has been elected as the secretary of the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN).
Rabindra Nath Shrestha, Secretary of Ministry of Urban Development has got the retirement because of age limit.
