Stakeholders Seek Connection Between Industries and Business Schools
Speaking at a panel discussion on “Future of Business Education” during 6th Newbiz B School Ratings, Ranking and Awards 2022, they said that retaining students produced by business schools of Nepal has become a major challenge that management education is facing in Nepal. Current scenario of education sector in Nepal, international practices, future of the Nepali education and ways to improve the education sector were some of the issues that panellists discussed during the event. They also highlighted the need for industrial houses and business schools to work with educational institutions to retain students in Nepal.
The panellists for the discussions were Rachana Thapa, Prof Dr Mahendra Prasad Shrestha and Prof Dr Dilli Raj Sharma. Rachana Thapa is a certified hospitality educator with more than two decades of experience in the sector. She is also a secretary of Rotary Club Midtown.
Likewise, Prof Dr Mahendra Prasad Shrestha has over three decades of experience in teaching, research and consultancy. He is a faculty board member of Kathmandu School of Management. Similarly, Prof Dilli Raj Sharma was appointed as Dean of the Management faculty of Tribhuvan University in 2016. The panel discussion was moderated by Sabin Joshi, managing director of RB Advisory.
