Though there is no official data, it is observable that the number of successful startup companies in Nepal is growing. The startup ecosystem in Nepal is in the making but is still in a very nascent stage. New Business Age has been focusing on a range of issues including the lack of legal framework, access to finance and many other things that are elemental to create an environment to startups. </p>
<p style="text-align:justify">The Newbiz Business Conclave and Awards 2017 is the fourth in the series which was started in 2013. The nation’s leading business publications New Business Age magazine and Aarthik Abhiyan National Daily take this annual event as the opportunity to honour the best performers in different areas of business who have been doing well in spite of many difficulties in terms of doing business in Nepal. To select the right companies and individuals for the awards, we have set very high-powered panels of jury incorporated by business leaders, economists, management gurus and professionals for each sector. Two award categories have been added this year, namely Best Managed Housing Company and Best Startup Company. However, this year we had to drop the category micro-finance companies on the advice of the jury panel due to the unavailability of some crucial data necessary to evaluate their performance. We would like to extend special thanks to Asian Paints Nepal, the title sponsor of the event, National Insurance, Nepal Life Insurance, Dabur Real Active, Rockstart Impact, One to Watch, Himalayan Reserve, Saujanya Media, Soaltee Crowne Plaza and Storm Communications Nepal for their enthusiastic support in our endeavor. I also thank the enlightened jury and the entire NewBiz team for the hard work they have put together to make it happen. I would also like to congratulate all 26 award winners. Though there is no official data, it is observable that the number of successful startup companies in Nepal is growing. The startup ecosystem in Nepal is in the making but is still in a very nascent stage. New Business Age has been focusing on a range of issues including the lack of legal framework, access to finance and many other things that are elemental to create an environment to startups. </p>
<p style="text-align:justify">The Newbiz Business Conclave and Awards 2017 is the fourth in the series which was started in 2013. The nation’s leading business publications New Business Age magazine and Aarthik Abhiyan National Daily take this annual event as the opportunity to honour the best performers in different areas of business who have been doing well in spite of many difficulties in terms of doing business in Nepal. To select the right companies and individuals for the awards, we have set very high-powered panels of jury incorporated by business leaders, economists, management gurus and professionals for each sector. Two award categories have been added this year, namely Best Managed Housing Company and Best Startup Company. However, this year we had to drop the category micro-finance companies on the advice of the jury panel due to the unavailability of some crucial data necessary to evaluate their performance. <p style="text-align:justify">This year’s theme of NewBiz Conclave and Awards ‘Nepal Startup Ecosystem’ is truly in-line with the mission of New Business Age Pvt Ltd to help businesses to grow in Nepal. The startup scene in the country has changed significantly over the last few years as new entrepreneurs are coming up with innovative and disruptive ideas in business. Though there is no official data, it is observable that the number of successful startup companies in Nepal is growing. The startup ecosystem in Nepal is in the making but is still in a very nascent stage. New Business Age has been focusing on a range of issues including the lack of legal framework, access to finance and many other things that are elemental to create an environment to startups. </p>
<p style="text-align:justify">The Newbiz Business Conclave and Awards 2017 is the fourth in the series which was started in 2013. The nation’s leading business publications New Business Age magazine and Aarthik Abhiyan National Daily take this annual event as the opportunity to honour the best performers in different areas of business who have been doing well in spite of many difficulties in terms of doing business in Nepal. To select the right companies and individuals for the awards, we have set very high-powered panels of jury incorporated by business leaders, economists, management gurus and professionals for each sector. Two award categories have been added this year, namely Best Managed Housing Company and Best Startup Company. However, this year we had to drop the category micro-finance companies on the advice of the jury panel due to the unavailability of some crucial data necessary to evaluate their performance. We would like to extend special thanks to Asian Paints Nepal, the title sponsor of the event, National Insurance, Nepal Life Insurance, Dabur Real Active, Rockstart Impact, One to Watch, Himalayan Reserve, Saujanya Media, Soaltee Crowne Plaza and Storm Communications Nepal for their enthusiastic support in our endeavor. I also thank the enlightened jury and the entire NewBiz team for the hard work they have put together to make it happen. I would also like to congratulate all 26 award winners. They are our role models and we hope that they will set more new milestones in the future. Similarly, our gratitude to the members of the jury panels, all speakers and participants of this grand event. See you all in 2018! </p>
