From video editing to multitasking and high-end gaming, the phone’s performance is outstanding in almost all areas of operation.
Design wise, Mi Note 2 looks perfectly symmetrical with its two curve edges on the right and left sides. The 5.7 inch dual-SIM handset has sports FHD AMOLED multitouch display with 386 ppi pixel density. Given the powerful processor, Xiaomi’s decision to put FHD display instead of QHD can be somewhat disappointing to some users. Nonetheless, the quality of phablet’s display is above par with excellent sunlight legibility. Colours are rich with high depth levels making the pictures come into life. It has display modes including Sunlight Display Pro, Reading mode and colour temperature adjustment that users can choose according to their preferences.

Major features of the camera include EIS 3K video stabilisation, phase detection autofocus and a dual-LED two-tone flash. The snapper comes with low-light enhancement technology and HDR image adjustment technology allowing users to capture some of the best pictures and videos. Other features include Panorama mode.
Burst mode, facial recognition and real-time camera filters. Meanwhile, the f/2.0 front-facing 8MP autofocus camera with five-element lens takes crisp selfies with the Beautify 2.0 feature. The snapper has been optimised specially for group selfies. It also has facial recognition feature and supports EIS 4K video stabilisation.
Mi Note 2 operates on Xiaomi’s proprietary MIUI 8.0 interface. Like the previous versions, the customised Android OS has no apps drawer. However, this version has a special feature called the “second space” that offers optimal level of safety for the sensitive data stored on the phone. It separates the handset’s storage portion from the main storage and allows users to safely put information on it.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 sports a blazing fast fingerprint scanner. Users can unlock the screen in a blink of eye in less than a second to find the home screen when the phone is in sleep mode. The phone houses an array of sensors including infrared, Gyroscope, Accelerometer, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, Hall sensor, electronic compass and Barometer that are used for a range of purposes. The phablet’s audio system is also superb. It offers high definition audio quality at 192kHz and 24-bit resolution with lossless support.
The 166 grams phone equips a 4,070 mAh Battery that impressively supplies power for around one and half day on a single full charge. It comes with the Quick Charge 3.0 feature due to which the phone’s battery gets fully charged in about an hour. Priced at Rs 76,999, Mi Note 2 is available in 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM variant in the Nepali market. Overall, Xiaomi has indeed added another masterpiece in its product portfolio.
