Head Chef
A very good way to describe Temptino is it’s tempting. The new franchise of Ghangri Café, Temptino is located at the restaurant hub of Jhamsikhel. Only three months into the business, the restaurant is as good as it’s ever been, and they serve one of the best meals you can have in this city.
Temptino has the prettiest, giddiest interior which was designed by architect Siddhartha Gopala. It’s a space that makes you feel, as if only good things will happen to you here. The restaurant’s painted glazed walls are set so that vines and stalks of flowers can climb the walls. With the cozy interior and calm ambience, this eatery is excellent for both lunch and dinner.
To the left as you enter is a small bar. The bartenders spend the quiet hours whittling big ice cubes into spheres, with knives. From local to international brands, Temptino serves you with a long list of wine varieties. This diner has both outdoor and indoor sitting arrangements. The attentive staff here make you feel like you're at home. According to Managing Director Suroj Rajkarnikar, the restaurant is mostly crowded during the weekends. Having a seating capacity for 90 guests, this diner has both outdoor and indoor sitting arrangements. The restaurant which staffs 20 employees also has ample space for parking.
Head Chef, Rudra Khadka has 20 years of experience in this field and it shows in the way he skilfully prepares his food. "I am proficient especially in Italian and Continental cuisine but the customers here have really appreciated my desserts as well," mentions Khadka. With minimalist cooking, the distance between dull and delicious can sometimes be measured in grains of salt. And his cooking can surely be categorised into the former. The food served here is so tasty that it feels like Khadka has magic in his hands.
The menu here will confuse you with its variety. From appetizers to main courses the food here will not disappoint you. At Temptino, you cannot afford to miss out the appetising pastas and risottos. Tagiatelle Pagilia E Fieno Cafciofi prepared with green and white flat noodles with tossed tomato sauce, dry chilly, and heart of artichoke and olive spicy sauce is mouth watering. On the non vegetarian side Lasanga Ala Bolognese Di Pollo is a must try.
Calzone, a half moon shaped pizza stuffed with cheese, ham mushroom and bell pepper, is a famous dish served here. One should also not miss out Quatro Stagion a four season pizza prepared with seafood, chicken, ham, mushroom, bell pepper asparagus olive onion and capers topped with egg. Besides the Italian food found here, the Indian cuisine is very well liked as well. Paneer Butter Masala and Chicken Butter Masala are very palatable.
If hunger still calls after you have stripped all the bamboo sticks and left them standing in the ceramic cup in front of you, there is an excellent remedy in the form of Chicken Cordon Bleu. Here you can ask for the tasty homey dish of chicken breast stuffed with cheese and fried ham crumb bread which is served with tomato sauce. Among the many snacks served here, Mushroom Stuffed Baked Potato is the best with its wholesome flavour.
Rosemary Potato (boiled potato with rosemary and cheese) and Spinacci Florentine (buttered spinach with onion pine nuts, nutmeg and sage) is an excellent choice for the vegetarians out there hungering for some food full of taste. Not only this, the burgers and sandwiches served here are equally appetising.
The desserts are all lip smackingly good. The Italian desserts such as Tartufi Di Cioccolato (chocolate Truffle with Vanilla ice-cream) and Fettuccine Ala Cioccolato (a surprise dessert of hot chocolate Fettuccine with vanilla ice-cream) are praiseworthy.
With great food and an amazing ambience along with attentive staff, Temptino is worth a shot for food and ambience lovers looking for a new classy yet happening place in the valley.
