Sometimes a simple statement or a small act leads to a series of unintended consequences. Many people fail to comprehend the fact that such unusual things may happen in our own lives. ‘Guilty Until Proven Innocent’ (May 2013) talks about those simple facts of life that need to be taken more seriously. We, certainly, have to respect others. Gender discrimination has been a problem in many parts of the world. Cases of violence against women are also being reported very frequently in Nepal. Heinous crimes should not be neglected and the culprits should face strict punishment. Above all, victims must get justice.
We must all respect one another’s individuality, freedom and privacy. This must be developed as an ethics of every individual and these things are also guaranteed by the country’s law.
