Nanglo Café and Pub Closed Down
The Nanglo Café and Pub at Durbar Marg has shut down its operations after almost four decades of service. Shyam Sundar Lal Kakshapati, Founder of Nanglo has said that the restaurant is closed as the land lease was expired and the landlord refused to renew the lease. He also informed that the company is looking for a suitable location around Durbar Marg area and will resume its operations once new location is found. “We have established our brand in Durbar Marg, so we will look for new location in the same area,” informed Kakshapati. 
 
The restaurant was providing employment to 70 workers. The management of the restaurant informed that the workers have been laid off as they couldn’t be hired until the new location is determined.  Nanglo owns chain of restaurants inside and outside of Kathmandu. The Bakery Café has nine outlets in Kathmandu at   Boudha, Bhatbhateni, Dharahara, Jawalakhel, Maharajgunj, New Baneswor, Pulchowk, Teendhara and Teku. The recently closed Nanglo Café and Pub was the flagship restaurant of the company. Outside Kathmandu, the restaurant operates by the name Nanglo West in Palpa and Butwal. 
 
Etihad and SAS Announce Codeshare Plans 
Scandinavia's leading airline SAS and Etihad Airways are set to begin codeshare operations and provide customers with enhanced travel options between Scandinavia and the UAE. According to a press statement from Etihad, the agreement will strengthen both carriers by enabling them to offer greater connectivity to and from a number of European cities.
 
SAS is Etihad Airways’ 47thairline partnership globally and its 22nd in Europe. For SAS, Etihad is the 23rd codeshare partner and the third with strong presence in the Middle East. Both airlines will also develop and sign a Frequent Flyer agreement, which will benefit the members of Etihad Airways’ Etihad Guest and SAS’ EuroBonus loyalty programs.
 
 “This codeshare agreement will improve flight connections to Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen as well as a number of cities across Scandinavia, greatly enhancing travel options and connections for air travellers and deepening our ties with Europe and European carriers,” said Etihad Airways’ Chief Strategy Officer Kevin Knight. 
 
The deal will see SAS place its SK code on Etihad Airways’ flights between Abu Dhabi and Brussels, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Rome, Milan, Zurich, Geneva and London Heathrow. In turn, Etihad Airways will place its EY code on SAS-operated flights from these European destinations, excluding Brussels, onto SAS’ hubs in Copenhagen, Oslo, and Stockholm.
 
Leela Group Enters Nepal
Indian hospitality group The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts has made its way to Nepal. The group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Summit Group of Hotels and Resorts to establish four hotels in Nepal. According to National News Agency, the two groups signed the MoU in the presence of Prime Minister Sushil Koirala. Summit Group has informed that both the parties are in consultation now for making joint investment in the venture. 
 
According to a statement on Leela Group’s website, The Leela Kathmandu, the first of the four hotels will be a 5-star deluxe hotel to be built in Kathmandu and is expected to be completed within three years. “Located close to the Narayanhiti Museum, The Leela Kathmandu will be the first of a series of hotels to be established across Nepal. It will be followed by a hotel in Lumbini as part of the Leela Group's plans to pave a Buddhist Trail from Nepal to Bodhgaya, Nalanda, and Varanasi in India,” says the statement.  
 
Summit Group of Hotels and Resorts owns Summit Hotel, Summit Residency and Hotel Kido in Nepal. Similarly, Leela Group runs seven luxury hotels in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Goa, Bangalore, Trivandrum, Gurgaon and Udaipur. The Group also has its investments in information technology, real estate and other sectors in India.
