Barun Poudel, meteorologist at the division, said there has been westerly influence in the western part of the country since Wednesday afternoon and it has arrived Kathmandu this morning.</p>

"With this influence, Kathmandu is receiving rain right at the moment," RSS quoted Poudel as saying. It is spreading to the eastern region so there will also be rainfall in the eastern region as well, he said, adding such situation would prevail for three days.</p>
<p>
The Himalayan region is likely to receive heavy snowfall.</p>
<p>
"There must have been snowfall in the western Himalayan region since this morning. The high-altitude areas around Kathmandu including Fulchowki, Daman and Chandragiri are likely to witness light snowfall on Friday," Poudel said.</p>

RSS reported that most parts of the country will receive light and moderate rainfall till Saturday while some parts are likely to receive heavy rain and snowfall.</p>

Barun Poudel, meteorologist at the division, said there has been westerly influence in the western part of the country since Wednesday afternoon and it has arrived Kathmandu this morning.</p>

"With this influence, Kathmandu is receiving rain right at the moment," RSS quoted Poudel as saying. It is spreading to the eastern region so there will also be rainfall in the eastern region as well, he said, adding such situation would prevail for three days.</p>
<p>
The Himalayan region is likely to receive heavy snowfall.</p>
<p>
"There must have been snowfall in the western Himalayan region since this morning. The high-altitude areas around Kathmandu including Fulchowki, Daman and Chandragiri are likely to witness light snowfall on Friday," Poudel said.</p>

February 7: Most parts of the country received rain and snowfall since Thursday morning due to the influence of the westerly wind that entered Nepal via far-western region, according to Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS).</p>

The weather system that entered into Nepal from Jammu Kashmir has had its influence from throughout the country, shared the Weather Forecasting Division.</p>
<p>
RSS reported that most parts of the country will receive light and moderate rainfall till Saturday while some parts are likely to receive heavy rain and snowfall.</p>
<p>
Barun Poudel, meteorologist at the division, said there has been westerly influence in the western part of the country since Wednesday afternoon and it has arrived Kathmandu this morning.</p>
<p>
"With this influence, Kathmandu is receiving rain right at the moment," RSS quoted Poudel as saying. It is spreading to the eastern region so there will also be rainfall in the eastern region as well, he said, adding such situation would prevail for three days.</p>
<p>
The Himalayan region is likely to receive heavy snowfall.</p>
<p>
"There must have been snowfall in the western Himalayan region since this morning. The high-altitude areas around Kathmandu including Fulchowki, Daman and Chandragiri are likely to witness light snowfall on Friday," Poudel said.</p>
