April 25: Industrialists and entrepreneurs have appealed the government to prepare the budget of 2074/75 addressing the concerns of the private sectors.

They made such appeal during an interaction programme 'Challenges in Business Operation while Preparing Budget and Revenue Policy for Coming Year' held in Kathmandu on Monday, April 24.  They urged the government to prepare the budget relevant to the present scenario.

Representatives of Nepal Chamber of Commerce said that government’s slogan of "Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepal' will be fulfilled if the budget is issued by considering the problems of entrepreneurs.

Revenue Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, Shishir Kumar Dhungana said that half of the problems of customs and revenue collection will be solved if the businesses are run in proper manner. He suggested the traders and businessmen to conduct business with fair practice stating that the traders themselves are involving in selling duplicate things, using the same customs clearance letter at different customs check points, as well as making duplicate bills in border areas. Explaining that Nepal  has become a dumping site, Dhungana said that the government is preparing to bring anti-dumping laws in the upcoming fiscal year to control dumping.

Director General of the Department of Customs Toyam Raya informed that transparency in business can help both the government and the entrepreneurs. He further informed that Customs Act will be issued   in the upcoming fiscal year.
