March 6: Yamaha is all set to celebrate March 7 as the first Scooter Day to honor the contributions that scooters made in bringing the freedom, confidence and empowerment in people's life.

“The idea of this day is that scooter takes us miles in comfort and gives confidence in style. So, why not we celebrate a joyous day dedicated to our loved scooter,” said Pradeep Pokhrel, Marketing AGM of Yamaha division of MAW Enterprises, adding,  “The Scooter Day will be featured with a number of events across the nation including a nationwide free scooter wash campaign at Yamaha service centers.”

Issuing a press statement, the company said that the Scooter Day is a part of Yamaha's #YEScooter campaign, which kicked off last week.

“Scooter riders riding whatsoever brand can get their scooters washed for free on this day. We hope that this will be the first-ever such experience to riders, having other brand scooters washed in Yamaha centers,” Yamaha's Service Head Sharad Mishra said.

He also requested scooter riders to celebrate the Scooter Day by taking care, making repairs, servicing and sharing their best moments with scooters.

Meanwhile, as a part of CSR initiative, MAW Enterprises will be donating two Yamaha scooters to Nepal Traffic Police on the same day.

“We expect this effort to help, at least, in managing the hefty traffic of Kathmandu valley,” Marketing Head Pokhrel said.

Yamaha will also be organizing a ceremony to felicitate pioneer scooter rider, probably the first in Nepal, Kamala Shrestha on the occasion of International Women’s Day on  March 8. She will be honored with a Yamaha scooter.

MAW Enterprises said it will also conduct road safety awareness programs at five main junctions -Baneshwar, Tripureshwar, Chabahil, Kumaripati and Jadibuti - and through Facebook pages of Yamaha Nepal and Yescooter campaign on the Scooter Day.

The company claimed that a recent independent research on scooters showed that Yamaha scooters have been chosen as the best scooters for style and comfort by the consumers. The research was conducted by Media Reach.
