<p>Deepak Adhikari, president of the Western Region Chapter of Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) stated that internal tourists have been showing interest in trekking around the Annapurna circuit. </p>
<p>“The number of internal tourists trekking to Annapurna Base Camp has grown,” he told New Business Age, adding, “The number of external tourists is also enthusiastic.” He said that the number of tourists trekking to Annapurna Base Camp through Pokhara has increased as there is no flight to the Everest region because of unfavorable climate. “Though most of the tourists travel through trekking companies, there are some people who travel individually on their own,” he further added.</p>
<p>Adhikari said that it takes 7 to 10 days to reach Annapurna Base Camp through Gorepani. Tourists who can walk fast can shorten the journey by one to two days. Tourists reach Mardi Himal in 7 days package. The location is popular for good view. Tourists can travel through the route 12 months a year. <p>“The number of tourists has increased from October,” he said, adding, “Both domestic and foreign tourists seem to be attracted.” He said that the number of internal tourists trekking to Annapurna Base Camp went up during the festivals of Dashain and Tihar.</p>
<p>Deepak Adhikari, president of the Western Region Chapter of Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) stated that internal tourists have been showing interest in trekking around the Annapurna circuit. </p>
<p>“The number of internal tourists trekking to Annapurna Base Camp has grown,” he told New Business Age, adding, “The number of external tourists is also enthusiastic.” He said that the number of tourists trekking to Annapurna Base Camp through Pokhara has increased as there is no flight to the Everest region because of unfavorable climate. “Though most of the tourists travel through trekking companies, there are some people who travel individually on their own,” he further added.</p>
<p>Adhikari said that it takes 7 to 10 days to reach Annapurna Base Camp through Gorepani. Tourists who can walk fast can shorten the journey by one to two days. Tourists reach Mardi Himal in 7 days package. The location is popular for good view. Tourists can travel through the route 12 months a year. However, with winter arriving, the number of tourists starts to go down, said local tourism entrepreneur, Gurung. </p>
